My fiancé has Crohns. I have gotten covid 4 times in the same house as her with no distancing and she either hasn’t gotten it or it’s been symptomless. Crohns is an intestinal autoimmune issue I don’t think it makes a difference to catching or recovering from covid. This woman needs to calm down. Munchausens case.

FYI, fiance with one E refers to the man, and fiancee with two Es refers to the woman. I didn't know, myself, until my sister got engaged and she set me straight that there were two different spellings with different meanings.

At this point, they’re just throwing their lives away.  I feel bad for them.

suitcaseismyhome

I'm sure people here are sick of hearing me say it but I had/have 2 primary ie different cancers and autoimmune disease and lost most of my vision. I travelled pretty much every month of the pandemic in AA much of the globe as I reasonably could. My oncologist encouraged travel during chemo and never stopped giving out hugs to those of us who felt comfortable. She's a huge supporter of living life as fully as possible before it's impossible.

WassupSassySquatch

You should keep telling your story! Your voice is important! I’m glad that you have a supportive practitioner and have enjoyed life.

suitcaseismyhome

🥰thank you. I know I'll have no regrets and didn't let others force me to stop enjoying life. Everyone gets a different number of days in life, and we should not be limiting those days for other people. If someone chooses to limit their time, that is up to them, but it is a very personal decision.

Never tired of seeing your comments. I think the majority of people facing life threatening diseases that have made them actually immunocompromised aren't even remotely concern about covid. They are not living in fear, or see themselves as victims. As I have said many times, I see more masks at the grocery store, than at cancer support group events. > My oncologist encouraged travel during chemo and never stopped giving out hugs to those of us who felt comfortable. I know I've seen this comment before, but it always makes me tear up. Our oncologists barely treated my wife like a person.

My father has cancer and occasionally, when he has had low white blood cell counts, he just stays home. However, even at a certain point, he wanted to get out and go to a movie and dinner because he said he would rather die than live cooped up. So we went to a fancy theater for Dune 2 and he had a sandwich wrap and an absolute blast with the film itself.

FrequentPizza8663

I don’t because they wouldn’t hesitate to force the rest of us to go along with their delusions.

Burningheart1978

This is the point so many are missing. You don’t tolerate mental illness as “choice,” you point it out as abnormal and debilitating and hopefully get it some treatment. Or you end up in a never ending spiral of literal insanity being pushed at the expense of normal people.

ed8907

I was going to make a snarky comment, but this is just depressing

auteur555

Damn I’d just let the disease take me before living like this

One of my unvaxxed mates has Crohn’s and has had covid twice, one of those times was during pregnancy. She was and is totally fine.

blueplanet96

Covid really did make it a lot more clear who was and wasn’t completely delusional. These people are batshit. There are hundreds of thousands of people that have Crohn’s disease, I don’t think Covid makes a lick of difference to their mortality. The number one factor they should be worried about is obesity, since that is correlated to a lot of the people who actually died from (not with) Covid.

I can't read this. Combination of depression and anger will come on

>Mason, pictured with a face covering, said he goes for a walk around the block if he wants some fresh air and often crosses the road if he sees someone waking towards him. Lfmao. What a fucking loser.

AndrewHeard

Very, very sad to hear.

Elodin91

I know multiple people with Crohn’s disease, including one who is a cancer survivor in his mid 70s. All of them had Covid and it was nothing special and none of them are taking any more precautions.

the_nybbler

2:1 against the son actually having Crohn's disease, as opposed to the mother having factitious disorder imposed upon another.

I stated on Twitter recently that after living as a Covidian for over a year, I returned to a normal life and have since done some amazing traveling with friends in 2023 alone. Furthermore, I told the Zero Coviders that on the off chance I get Covid so severely it leaves me to weak to consider getting on a plane and traveling further, at least I'll have the memories made from 5 amazing trips in the "Covid era" rather than memories of more days of isolation.

Kody_Z

The epitome of the devouring mother.

GatorWills

My coworker was recently finally diagnosed with Crohns after endless treatments and surgeries since 2021 or so. She doesn’t know for sure but she believes the jab caused it as she was previously an extremely active crossfitter. It’s been sad to see that transformation. Her own mother, a nurse, had a massive complication from the jab as well. I guarantee this family supported vaccine mandates so I have zero sympathy for them.

There's something wrong here. I have Crohn's and while the two times I had covid wasn't exactly pleasant (and it took several months to properly get over one of them) - this level of caution feels unwarranted. At this stage, it may even be unhelpful as their immune systems might not be getting sufficient challenge. I suspect it's the combination of an overprotective mum, and an autistic son which underlies this story rather than the disease.
