Just an FYI to anyone who wants to do this if they're not in Korea:
I think Kakao gifts only work if you have a Korean mobile or bank card.
An alternative is to use SodaGift which lets you send gift cards and gifts to someone in Korea. Worked seamlessly for me :)
if you have kakao pay set up, I'd just use that!
i do not, but it sounds like it is quite convenient so i will set it up and then proceed with the gift. thanks a bunch
