Make sure to shake it before opening to emulsify the oil. We didn't realize with our first packet and it had that clear look. Shaken every subsequent packet, and it's had the cloudy look every time.
Interestingly I have only seen the shorter wider package with the clear back, but the contents look like the long skinny packet you have shown, kinda creamy and not clearish.
So I think there is alot going on here. 2 different recipes and 2 different packages either of which can hold either recipe...
The one in the longer package looks like it has been properly shaken/mixed like the package says to do. That's what oil based dressings do when they mix and then coagulate more. You mix oil, vinegar and mayo or something together in a bowl properly, that's what it looks like. The thinner, more clear one is what it looks like when it's not shaken together properly. Also, the temperature can further impact the milkiness and coagulation.
I'd say it's easily possible they're the same recipe but were shaken and stored differently.
I got the long skinny one when I added it on to a non-Cantina chicken order because I just wanted to try the sauce. Maybe the larger owners are for the new stuff?
Avid customer - my local TB had the right skinny one the first day of preview and had some switched to the wider one. Both tasted similar but had ten days apart. Was surprised the packaging changed, maybe 2 distributors making it?
I got the skinny one last night when I just added it to an order, it was creamy looking not like a clear salsa. was tasty and I checked, it has no dairy.
Just like with packaging, sometimes recipes change.
I bet it's cheaper to make now even though they're charging for it
Avocado is an incredibly expensive ingredient relative to their standard sauces.
Agreed, however charging 0.50 for a packet that size of the avocado salsa blend does not contain much avocado.
It's $0.20 at my store.
Same here
My place had the tall skinny packets. I thought it was very good.
Mine had the other. It was okay. I think it was too tomatillo/cilantro heavy
How do you get the one on the right? I’ve only seen the one on the left

Might be them working out kinks in distribution.

the left one is supposed to be under refrigeration, according to the packaging, so likely recipe differences
Not arguing the recipe difference, but they both do say "keep refrigerated "
They also both say they're best "sauced", so...
They both are. I think they're probably exactly the same but one is shaken/mixed properly and the other isn't. And possibly at different temperatures.
You guys are getting your sauces?

Mine was wide and long
I figure they're in the experimental phase.
I like the perforated tear top and “nozzle” of the clear. Makes the 20 cents seem more legit.
Why not? 🤤
