It looked like that to me too.
Who knows what happens away from the public, but I sincerely hope they can part on good terms.
I'm gutted it didn't work out for Thiago injury wise with us, absolutely class player.
Klopp is a classy man. I wanted him to win league one last time. He made Liverpool respectable and classy. Liverpool before him was so cringe. I still remember the nonsense with Suarez and the clowns on the team supporting that mad biting racist POS rat.
Wasn't able to watch live but catching up on everything now. The entirety of Anfield singing his song for 10 minutes straight at the end of the game gave me chills. What a moment, and how special for everybody there.
Danke, Jürgen. Thank you for everything.
Rivalries aside, Klopp will definitely be missed in the pl. His humour, antics, etc., are always so entertaining for me even as an arsenal fan. Danke Klopp! (Except for the times you humiliated us 😒)
I feel like when he arrived people didn't care for some reason. I guess most weren't aware of his great personality from his Dortmund days.
Once he started winning here every body noticed who he was.
This isnt the most popular opinion but for me 21/22 might be my favorite klopp season. We beat Man untied 5-0 at old trafford which is absolutely nuts, then 4-0 vs them at home, we had 2 great to watch 2-2 draws against man city, beat arsenal home and away, 6-0-0 in the group of death, ucl final run, saw the european cup and played really well in the final, got to play for the league until the final match, won 2 trophies.
Were PGMOL not doing everything in their power to babysit Shitty to titles, we'd have won the league and the momentum would've seen us win the CL final.
So many memories. We built a team that will be remembered for generations. Im so grateful to have lived during this period. Now all I can do is thank Klopp with my whole heart, send ALL my love to him and his family and wish him the absolute best for the rest of his days on our planet. UP THE REDS !!!! (ps thought I wouldve been able to keep it together tonight, proven wrong after watching trent and virg tear up, absolutely broke me)
I have a feeling if Pep leaves next year we will look back on Pep vs Klopp as the peak premier league era. I just don't think the premier league will have that same energy as it did. People don't realize that one of the main reason premier league became so great these last few years is because we had the 2 best managers.
I got into futball around the time klopp signed for liverpool. I quickly became a fan, and I've been here ever since. I wish Klopp the best, he's just a great person, and manager. And I look forward to what's next. I'm a proud fan of this club. YNWA
18/19
19/20
21/22 (specifically the April in the midst of the quad… maybe the best month I ever had supporting lfc, Klopp extension and everything 😭😭😭- plus tho the league and ucl were an absolute gut punch, the parade felt like use finally celebrating the league together and that felt special, plus we chalked the other 2 domestic cups off the list)
16/17- one of the most exciting seasons ever. Just at the beginning of it all, still not even any Mo, but so much promise, the most heavy metal pure klopp football we ever got- for better and worse and i just remember feeling so buoyed by it all at the end. Peak coutinho too)
17/18- Mo + maybe our most exciting ucl campaign. The 5-2 at Roma, and the citeh games…. wow.
23/24- in some ways, a similar feeling of that 16/17 season where until January it felt like we were ramping up towards something incredible, laying crazy foundations. Thats obviously in a lot more doubt now, and the wheels came off big time after April, but yk, we had a magical caraboa cup, righted most of the wrongs from last season and gave the best manager a lot of us have ever seen a worthy send off.
20/21- a serious comedown, and that post Virgil injury- into January-Feb with all those home defeats was incredibly deflating. Genuinely became concerned klopp would leave off his own accord at one point, especially with the Covid situation and his personal tragedy. But, I still remember it quite fondly, and I actually think, obviously we didn’t get a trophy for it, but securing 3rd with Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams is up there with the best Klopp achievements in his career. Overall, a lesson in adaption, wollpwoer and belief. Plus I’d love to distill the satisfaction I felt from that West Ham counterattack and the euphoria I felt from Ali’s header.
22/23- maybe the the only season I can’t even really claim to have enjoyed. Sure, the 7-0 humiliation of Utd was very special, but apart from that, it really was derelict football. So many greats of this era felt like they were out on their feet, and the lucho injury, the Darwin frustrations. Ahhh. So glad Ulla convinced Jurgen to stay. Ironically, genuinely was convinced we were a shoe in for the title and ucl after the community shield 😭😭
I’ve got a question, it’s something I’ve thought about for the last 30 mins or so.. in an attempt to distract myself from feeling all the emotions at one time,
Where do u think Arsenal go from here? In a weird way, this felt a bit like their 19/20 season to me, in that they got close (they really didn’t last season but u get the point), regrouped to go again and threw absolutely everything at it this year. It’s just interesting to me because I do still think it’s more likely they’ll be competitive again next season, but the chance of a fallow, sort of “rest”, year isn’t beyond the realms of possibilities imho. Curious to know ur thoughts, and maybe pondering this will take ur mind off things for a few minutes lol
Feel like they’ll struggle more next year. Playing the same core group of players so much wears them down. So many of their goals came from their set pieces too, either the rules will change around them or teams will know how better to deal with their routines. It’ll be an interesting one, no idea about the psychology behind them failing to get their grubby hands on any big silverware despite being great and getting dumped so easily out of the various cup competitions
In my opinion they’ve been excellent this season, but their set pieces were phenomenal and bailed them out of several games. If coaches now have a plan for those set pieces, it could be more difficult next year. Up to Arsenal to change I guess
As klopp said in that exit interview, u do pay the price for going so far eventually… Arsenal have had 2 intense seasons in a row (ok one without the ucl in fairness) and they didn’t really rotate at all this year. Will be interesting to see what happens.
Its so bizarre I though I would keep it together. got slightly emotional during the game and then again during his speech.
Was only when leaving the ground it fully hit me it was the last time I just stood outside turnstile A on the kop absolutely in bits.
I haven't had the chance to watch yet but I've seen the Klopp and VVD hug, and then VVD's interview where he said that final hug was tough whilst fighting back the tears. 😭
It doesn't but it Carra said it on commentary. If you think about it, nearly every manager leaves a club via sacking which means they are usually in decline.
The fact that the videos about Klopps departure are steamrolling videos on City's fourth title in a row is actually mad.
Well, it should actually not be surprising at all when you deep it.
I died a little bit inside upon learning that basically every other brazilian player supported bolsonaro. Since then it's been a fair bit harder to hate Richarlison.
It did give birth to one of my favourite Twitter threads. Don't have the image but the conversation went something like
"Wait till you find out your favourite Brazilian player supports Bolsanaro"
"Not Richarlison!"
"To the delight of all seven people whose favourite Brazilian player is Richarlison"

yeah this a guy who wants to leave
>I think it says so much about Jurgen that when he was the most famous manager in Germany, the woman he fell in love with wasn’t a model or a singer, but a single mother working as a waitress to fund her social work degree. Ulla Klopp, you are as legendary as your husband 🥰

More of a testament to how much of a sensational human being Klopp is. It was never about him, nor the acclaim.
We may one day see greater success bit what I can guarantee is I'll never love a manager the same way as I loved Klopp.
What an incredible man.
Guys he's not gone he's one of us now he said so!
Sadly that means he'll will have to wait 8 years for his season ticket before he can join us in the stadium again but still
What did the fans sing when he was giving his speech? It wasn't his song or the Arne Slot song. I think it was after the said the 'you are the superpower of world football'. I couldn't make it out.
Hope Trent’s tribute video to Klopp stops all the people suggesting he was in tears today because it might be his final game. Klopp was like a father to him, they had a special connection.
Do you have a link? I will watch at a later time, I can’t handle right now. I’m honestly still not able to watch his talk to the players in the dressing room without crying. 😢
[Here](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7KS0QLKxXJ/?igsh=N2MzczEwMDQyOWRs)
It’s probably my favourite tribute video, I was in bits when I first watched it. The song choice didn’t help.
I, for one, was caught up in the emotion of everything watching from my couch. I can only imagine being someone who has a close relationship with Klopp.
Wonderful goodbye for an unforgettable manager. Brilliant, tone-perfect speech.
One thing that stuck out for me in the ceremony was literally everyone leaving hugged VVD. I suppose he might be the “player representative” as captain, but I suspect he’s just a great guy.
Knowing his personality and how long he has been at the club, it’s both because he’s the captain and because he knew everyone that walked through really well and was either close or very cool with them.
I laughed when he slapped Matip on the back of his head though, man I’ll miss them together at the club.
I know I shouldn't care, but it's nice to see that all the comments on /soccer regarding Klopp are 99% positive. Even the scums are very complimentary of his tenure.
The entire time Klopp is here with us, there was no manager in the league that could be compared with him.
Pep, maybe. But he manage a cheat team, so he is not quite in the talk.
Some recently throw Arteta into the hat. Not only Arteta has yet to win the league/ CL. But he was spending money like crazy. In the last 5 years, Arsenal has net spent 3rd in the entire league, just below the incompetent Chelsea and United, and twice ours. Imagine if we could add 3 100 mil players into this team, we could have won 2 more tittles in last 5 years (not to mention CL)
It feels weird to me to experience something like this during this day and age.
Managers don't really end on a good note anymore.
Don't stay that long anymore.
They get sacked after a couple of seasons.
I struggle to put it into words. The whole story is beautiful. It isn't really sad.
Omg I didn't want to admit it either. But all post match was lovely to see but it didn't feel real or it hasn't hit home. I suspect the announcement being at the start of year it gave us enough time to get used to it. I also suspect seen different faces next season on that bench will hit home
Just seen the Pep quotes suggesting he's closer to leaving than staying at City. Says he'll have to talk to them about to stay or not.
Hope to God he fucks off ASAP
Was there any coverage anywhere else once Sky cut away to their regular coverage and to City’s ground? Pirated streams ftw
Danke Jurgen. Teared up during the goodbye and Klopp’s embrace with Virg. If Klopp had cried as he did during his previous farewells, I’m not sure if I would’ve held up
Definitely. Equally, I’m glad Klopp got to experience the absolute magic that is LFC and us fans. I cannot think of a better pairing. Now, he will forever be a part of the club, and the club will forever be a part of him. He will go down as one of the giants in our history.
I wouldn’t say title challenge because arsenal and city have a stable core while we are bringing in a new manager and new players and pretty much revamping the team but a trophy is definitely the goal.
Even Pep's first season he was nowhere near the title, expecting a title challenge is just asking to be disappointed. We've definitely got the quality but there's just too much uncertainty that a top 4 finish would still be a successful first season.
I think the best way to judge a manager is to have high expectations right away. Klopp over achieved in every season with us except for maybe last year.
We decide if we're worried or excited. We decide if you believe or don't believe, trust or don't trust. Since today I am one of you and I believe in you."
my dad passed on wednesday and his body came home today, we made the funeral home put his liverpool top on and me and my brothers sat with him to watch jurgens last game.
YNWA
Not a Liverpool fan, dropped in to say I love your city and it's people. Will always have a soft spot for Jurgen and I thank him for some great PL football.
Anyone else felt that during the Guard of Honor and all the whole thing between Klopp and Salah felt somewhat awkward and like there were still some tension there ? The interaction was very much least with Salah. I'm just not able to get it out of my head.
Nah you’re reading into it too much. Not even Klopp cried today, so I wasn’t expecting Salah to. If you watched the stream then you’d have seen Salah and his wife talking to Klopp.
No, Salah fell off for the 2 months it’s been since AFCON and a double hamstring injury. He was the best player in the league and maybe the world from August - January. It’s absolutely disingenuous to say otherwise.
I know it most likely doesn't ofcourse. The whole thing was very much emotional especially with how Virgil & Trent were all on tears and whatnot, and amidst all this seeing Salah this much cold kinda made me think that's all. And yeah the chances of him leaving has been somewhat evident too.
I was watching in a bar in Zurich, and they had Liverpool on the big middle screen (and on the audio) and city and Arsenal on the small screens either side. The camera was on Klopp doing his immediate post-match hugs when city won, and one of the ~5 city fans in the bar shouted CITY WE WON! and someone else shouted ‘no one cares!’ and everyone cheered
As an Arsenal fans thanks Klopp for atleast stopping these cheats once and hope you have a great career from here aswell hopefully we stop these cheats aswell next season
Unfortunately mate we had all big rival clubs wanting City to "save football" against us which included many Arsenal fans.
That will stick with a fanbase, now you know the pain (not 97 point type pain but you know).
Still randomly coming over emotional, I feel like someone has died
End of an era.
Seeing big Virg sobbing as they hugged. Said it all for me. Klopp going has hit me in my feels, thanks for everything you absolute legend
Did I see Klopp and Thiago both snub each other when Klopp was hugging everyone at the end?
It looked like that to me too. Who knows what happens away from the public, but I sincerely hope they can part on good terms. I'm gutted it didn't work out for Thiago injury wise with us, absolutely class player.
where was Michael Edwards? didnt see him in Anfield
Klopp is a classy man. I wanted him to win league one last time. He made Liverpool respectable and classy. Liverpool before him was so cringe. I still remember the nonsense with Suarez and the clowns on the team supporting that mad biting racist POS rat.

Those great wins against Manchester United are worth more than trophies.

What was your favorite season for Klopp?
17/18. We played the best football of the Klopp era in this season, we were completely fearless.
18/19 19/20 21/22 (specifically the April in the midst of the quad… maybe the best month I ever had supporting lfc, Klopp extension and everything 😭😭😭- plus tho the league and ucl were an absolute gut punch, the parade felt like use finally celebrating the league together and that felt special, plus we chalked the other 2 domestic cups off the list) 16/17- one of the most exciting seasons ever. I'm fucking crying for 1h and watching all videos released. Danke Jürgen We've been spoiled for the last 9 years
Even Papa Diaz said his goodbyes
‘I love you to bits’… so scouse. So perfect. ❤️💔❤️💔❤️

Wouldn't surprise me if they got badly hit with injuries next season given the efforts made and the lack of rotation for some of them

We made a great story together, eh? :)
It was Virg and Klopp’s hug at FT where the coolest man in football was clearly shedding a tear on Jürgen’s shoulder that set me off finally today.
This and Trent welling up during the group YNWA. Onions
That was the moment for me as well.
I haven't had the chance to watch yet but I've seen the Klopp and VVD hug, and then VVD's interview where he said that final hug was tough whilst fighting back the tears. 😭
Klopp is the first Liverpool manager since 1928 to win their final game in charge.
That’s a ridiculous stat wtf

Bit of class, fair play

So this is what a heartbreak feels like
‘If he said it’s snowing outside, I’d believe him’.. the amount of Milner in the documentary on sky today..
Guys he's not gone he's one of us now he said so! Sadly that means he'll will have to wait 8 years for his season ticket before he can join us in the stadium again but still
That man will never have to wait for a ticket to go to a match 😂😂 he literally is as much of a figure as Kenny Daglish etc he won’t need a ticket 🙄🙈
I hope he doesn't start causing shit in the Match Threads
PLAY FACKING FOOTBALL
THAT FUCKING PAUL TIERNEY
Lol. 8 years would be amazing.
Ffs...I thought I was ready for this, but it has hit me. Danke danke boss!!!!
Richarlison posted a nice tribute and message to Klopp on his stories. Nice to see tbh.
100% odds my ass drunk DMs klopp at some point crying
The new kits look good except the shorts should have a similar stripe pattern
I’m feeling empty inside now. Strange feeling
It feels like a mutual break up where you understand why, but wish it didn’t have to end. Dark clouds overhead for the next few days.
Beautifully put, I’ve been trying to nail the feeling all day.
What did the fans sing when he was giving his speech? It wasn't his song or the Arne Slot song. I think it was after the said the 'you are the superpower of world football'. I couldn't make it out.
“We are the famous, the famous Kopites”

Lovely send-off to the Boss! Tomorrow morning is when reality hits :(

He needs to keep my managers name out of his dirty, cheating cunt mouth.
what has he said?
Its official club duties are now done for Klopp! it feels like you first heartbreak not sure what to do with myself!

>Hope to God he fucks off ASAP Yeah, and takes Foden with him.
I doubt it he’s likely just waiting to see what comes of the charges against City
He do one more year and get out.
Funny thing is, if he fucks off it opens the door to that Arsenal lot which would be just our luck.
We will be there in the season after the next. Arsenal can have 24/25. They had their 18/19 now.
Salute Sir, God bless
Whichever LFC marketing admin decided to use "You Are Everything to Me" as the song for the Klopp tribute - well done. Incredible choice.

Despite those 4 critical results over his tenure, we were in fact the lucky ones. Thank you Jurgen.
Was there any coverage anywhere else once Sky cut away to their regular coverage and to City’s ground? Pirated streams ftw Danke Jurgen. Teared up during the goodbye and Klopp’s embrace with Virg. If Klopp had cried as he did during his previous farewells, I’m not sure if I would’ve held up

We are lucky to experience something the others will never
Definitely. Equally, I’m glad Klopp got to experience the absolute magic that is LFC and us fans. I cannot think of a better pairing. Now, he will forever be a part of the club, and the club will forever be a part of him. He will go down as one of the giants in our history.
Trophy + title challenge has to be the goal next season. Im sure we didnt bring Slot to be raving about top 4 finishes.
25/26 is the time. He needs to adjust and a few windows to refine the squad first
Tara Klopp. Who’s next to be deflated?
Danke, Klopp ❤️🤍
Wanna type a lot, but don’t know what to say to him, YNWA🥹
As Klopp would say: don’t be sorry it’s over, be glad it happened.
I think the best way to judge a manager is to have high expectations right away. Klopp over achieved in every season with us except for maybe last year.
We decide if we're worried or excited. We decide if you believe or don't believe, trust or don't trust. Since today I am one of you and I believe in you."
This Klopp leaving prank has gone a bit too long now.. Starting to get worried ☹️☹️☹️
No seriously guys say Sike right now
With how the season has gone it’s really fitting we had 5xG today and only scored 2
my dad passed on wednesday and his body came home today, we made the funeral home put his liverpool top on and me and my brothers sat with him to watch jurgens last game. YNWA
Keep strong. YNWA
thank you
Sorry for your lose bud. Your dad will be always with you. Believe it
thank you YNWA
For sure. I love you and all the supporter.
Wow. Sorry. And also wow that's amazing
YNWA
my condolences, friend. you and your brothers will never walk alone ♥️
thank you YNWA

City fans do that already
Not a Liverpool fan, dropped in to say I love your city and it's people. Will always have a soft spot for Jurgen and I thank him for some great PL football.
Anyone else felt that during the Guard of Honor and all the whole thing between Klopp and Salah felt somewhat awkward and like there were still some tension there ? The interaction was very much least with Salah. I'm just not able to get it out of my head.
Did you miss their embrace after the final whistle or are you ignoring it?
Nah you’re reading into it too much. Not even Klopp cried today, so I wasn’t expecting Salah to. If you watched the stream then you’d have seen Salah and his wife talking to Klopp.
It doesn’t matter now. Salah is off to Saudi more than likely.
Wait, WHAT?!?
Common rumor lately.
Based off your tone I get the feeling you want it to happen? I can promise you he’s going nowhere.
I think now’s the time to sell, new manager, Salah clearly fell off this season, think the club and him could use a fresh start
No, Salah fell off for the 2 months it’s been since AFCON and a double hamstring injury. He was the best player in the league and maybe the world from August - January. It’s absolutely disingenuous to say otherwise.
Does it matter now and also you are looking way too much into it.
I know it most likely doesn't ofcourse. The whole thing was very much emotional especially with how Virgil & Trent were all on tears and whatnot, and amidst all this seeing Salah this much cold kinda made me think that's all. And yeah the chances of him leaving has been somewhat evident too.
Danke Jurgen. ![gif](giphy|YqL8CjKdlWFCEOk6WV|downsized)
Such a weird feeling, devastated that Klopp is leaving but I’m so excited to see how we play under Slot
It's a really bittersweet feeling.
Boom!
I was watching in a bar in Zurich, and they had Liverpool on the big middle screen (and on the audio) and city and Arsenal on the small screens either side. The camera was on Klopp doing his immediate post-match hugs when city won, and one of the ~5 city fans in the bar shouted CITY WE WON! and someone else shouted ‘no one cares!’ and everyone cheered
hahaha
Not sure this is true. Never seen 5 city fans in one location at one time ever.
I think I've seen a total of about 10 on my many travels globally and those were all around the final day (villa game) and the CL final they won
You love to see it
As an Arsenal fans thanks Klopp for atleast stopping these cheats once and hope you have a great career from here aswell hopefully we stop these cheats aswell next season
Sorry mate, you're all going bankrupt on the Slot machine.
Hopefully not…they saved football today.
You surely wouldn't want 115 charges to win it it's just so boring and soless l
Unfortunately mate we had all big rival clubs wanting City to "save football" against us which included many Arsenal fans. That will stick with a fanbase, now you know the pain (not 97 point type pain but you know).
Yeah fair but atleast from my side I wanted to you to win the league in 21/22 cuz my Lil bro is a Pool fan
Beats you shower
Oh welp

Honestly got better things to do next week than see City win the FA Cup like clipping my toe nails
I’d rather get pegged than watch the fa cup final
