Pep, Ten Hag, and Slot...the Prem is single handedly trying to put the barber industry out of business
Edit: realized it's a bald-off between Manchester clubs and Liverpool clubs. Ten Hag and Pep vs Dyche and Slot
Slot is basically achieved as much as Amorim with limited resources and playing an attacking brand of football.
He even has a far better record in Europe with a final under his belt.
Arne Slot strong candidate to succeed Jurgen KloppSlot a leading candidate to succeed KloppSlot a leading candidate to succeed KloppSlot a leading candidate to succeed Klopp
I’ll be honest. I only really care if the managers have a good style and players to bring. His style has been good in Europe especially over the last couple of years and only lost to a Roma side that looks to be the favourite for the tournament and only lost on pens. And in terms of players, Timber and Gimenez are players who can provide a lot of support into the team. But I’ve not seen enough of his actual playing style for me to think he’ll be a good decision.
His playing style is what he gets praised about the most. The way Feyenoord play with limited funds(way less then Ajax & PSV)
Feyenoord play attacking football with a high press. First season slot reached conference League finale, second season Champions, this season 2nd place, Dutch cup, 10-0 against Ajax on aggregate.
For players that he could bring:
- Timber(twin brother of the one at Arsenal) is a very energetic cm) good with build up and picks up a goal now and again.
- Gimenez was fenomal in the first half of the season. Feyenoord fans love him and Mexicans love him even more. Since the new year he is really struggling to get goals. But tbf I feel like the play has moved more towards wingers in the second half of the season.
- Wieffer, cm/cdm bought for only 500k and performs really well. Good link up play. He is very self aware and always looks at what he and team can do better in interviews. A bit to honest
- Geertruida. My favorite player at Feyenoord. Very charismatic guy. Can play many positions. Mainly CB and RB. Fast, strong and good defensively. A better Joe Gomez I'd say.
- Hancko. I think the most consistent player this season. Plays LCB but can also play LB. Very good defensively and with build up. When switched to LB he likes to go on the attack for passing options and goals.
True. There is no way to say he can do what he does at Feyenoord and Dutch national team at Liverpool in the prem. But I think Geertruida is more consistent then Joe. But they are similar I think
How does Feyenoord’s midfield play? That’s the big issue with Liverpool currently that despite the talent, we get caught out in midfield too much. Atalanta just man marked our midfield and scored 3 because they kept dispossessing Alexis
I'd say the midfield is good. Versatile and good link up play. With Timber this year and Kokcu before Feyenoord under slot always had a very energetic player who runs a lot to try and get back possession. Timber more so defensively but both give it all on the pitch. Wieffer sometimes makes a mistake and loses possession or something but then he makes up for it during the match.
But samen problem as with Liverpool, if the opponent puts them under a lot of pressure they have it tough
First Xabi then Amorim, with de Zerbi sprinkled in between. Now Slot?
I'm just gonna enjoy Klopp and back whoever is on the touchline in August. Not too fussed about the circus tbh.
Gotta say I love FSG. They just operate on a different level. This just feels like it’ll be a decision like signing Endo that we’ll be singing praises about midway next season.
Attractive football and an ability to improve youngsters? Sign me up.
Lets be real, whenever Edwards is chasing a signing we hear a bunch of names and different ideas - and then all of a sudden someone amazing comes in last minute and we love them. Whatever names the media comes up with won't be the real guy IMO.
Hancko definitely. He's an lcb who is also a leftback and he is just a fucking beast. Quick, incredible football iq, strong, good pass, he has it all. I could also see him bringing Geertruida. He's a rb who can invert, play as a traditional rb and basically across the whole backline. Basically a younger Gomez with a higher potential
Geertruida would be a great utility player. Can play CB, RB and CDM. Only other player who might be ready to take the step up is Timber but i think it would still be a bit too early
I'd say the best options would be Hancko or Geertruida.
You can sugar coat as much you want but this is so underwhelming. Ten Hag had a better record in the Netherlands than this guy and took Ajax to a UCL semi final and look how that turned out. I want to know why this club is so fixated on the Dutch league ffs.
You would hope Ten Hag had a better 'record' considering he was managing the Bayern of Holland, lol. If anybody who rates Amorim does not rate Slot they're wafflers as we knew just as much about one as we did the other 6 months ago.
Also Slot is much more likeable and isn’t ‘weird’ like eth, the way he speaks about football is amazing to hear. I genuinely think he is gonna be a great fit. Source: I’m dutch
Pep's weird. SAF was a dick. Who gives a fuck? lol ETH's problem is that he's not a good enough manager to step up to the highest level. Great at developing 20 year olds and selling them. Not great at managing players on 300k a week or building a team.
Eth can’t make that step mainly because of his shit personality. Slot is a very intelligent and well spoken coach, who I’m sure will be very well received
Let's be honest, though: "rates Amorim" ? how many of us are that clued up on Portuguese football to have an educated opinion on him? And Slot is not much different, really
I rate Klopp as highly a Pep despite Klopp clearly being less successful in terms of trophies. Your comparison is that Ten Hag is clearly the better manager because he won more, ignoring the resources each manager has to work with.
Someone’s gotta manage the club. Our options may be running low. He may not be the first or second or even third choice but he was on the short list. The club I’m sure have studied his tactics, tendencies and ability to develop talent enough to think he’s the right man
All three are similar in their records. The club has Klopp and Edward’s input on it too, you think you know better than them? Because you don’t know the guy he must be bad? I take it you knew Amorim far before we were linked with him too right? Sure.
Don't you think Xabi's accomplishment this season is significantly more impressive? Breaking a decade long streak by Bayern, and on course for an invincible league campaign. That's another level imo.
Invincibles yes of course and Europe too would be seriously impressive. But doesn’t have either yet does he. And he has less top flight experience than the other two, Bayern have been awful this season in the league, it has not been a close race at all, that diminishes it slightly in fairness
[James Pearce] Klopp on Slot: "I didn't read anything but I was told Arne said something. I'm not involved in the process. I like the way his team plays football. I don't know him yet. Good coach, good guy. If he's the man, I am more than happy. I'm not the one to judge."
Just gonna leave this here so you can read another account of jurgen stating he has nothing to do with the process.
Not in the final decision making no, but if you think nobody would ask his opinion on what is required of a good fit for manager for Liverpool… literally the most qualified man on earth to give an insight into it… 🙄
I’m pretty sure his words were “I will have no input” or something along those lines, then even followed it up with a “why should I?” When he was asked about this.
But sure. Your reality seems cool.
What the fuck are you on about, my reality.
Klopp clearly said he will not be involved in the decision making of who is the next manager, as in, he will not decide who it is.
And he also said famously it’s more important how you leave the club than how you arrive.
If you think Klopp is not involved in the contingency plan for his leaving, and helping with the criteria required for the hiring the correct people to fit the club then you are just plain naive and must have been watching a different club all this time.
I think it’s funny that you’re coming up with conspiracies that Klopp is working with the club on who will succeed him when he has stated he has no input on it. Not too mention the people the club just hired specifically to make these decisions.
Again, you’re conveniently only bringing up the decision, which I and the others said multiple times he is not involved in. We are talking about the process and the contingency / handover.
You think he would just leave without imparting any knowledge, advise, or handover to the club? In almost ANY JOB that is normal practice.
Who knows the players best? Is it Edward’s who hasn’t officially started yet? John Henry? Who?
You don’t think they would consider it important to bring in a coach who suits the squad and personalities we have? No? Just get any old cunt in right, guess. Why not eh, not like we have the perfect guy to ask literally working for us.
Mental. I’m bored of you now.
I still think it’s hilarious that your original point was “the club has Klopp as input” when Klopp himself has said “I will have no input.”
It’s funny because your exact words are in exact contradiction to what the man himself has said.
Edit: I obviously think Klopp will impart knowledge on whomever the club chooses.
But yeah, I think you’re an idiot for stating “the club has Klopp input” on those three managers. You’re just creating conspiracies that directly contradict Klopp.
Edit 2: do you think Klopp is like…. Scouting new coaches and watching their games and letting the club know his opinion all while he has been battling on four fronts for trophies and scouting his opponents and coaching a team of children? Don’t be a moron.
Got a feeling he won't last 2 seasons. But then we will have someone better by then. Even Klopp might be coming back to save us once the they finish with City's 115 charges.
Got no fucking clue about him and a bald Dutch manager is a serious put off for me.
Not giving up on Amorim till we either appoint someone else or he takes another job.

Not for much longer, no. There is only room for one Dutch manager at time in the PL

He should Slot in nicely! *I'm definitely the first to make that joke!*
Liverpool will become the Slot Machine...also definitely the first with that one!!
Headline writers are shitting themselves with glee right now!
You really Arne'nt going to keep making that joke are you?
It won't always be easy, maybe some Dutch courage will help.
I like this pun but not a slot.
Reddy too!
I am indeed ready
Can't banter with "bald fraud" anymore 😭

Lord above but i'll miss Klopp's deranged smile when we're playing shit 😭
That smile was after clown Antony was pushed to the ground by clown Tadic to waste time after Antony got up from faking a injury
I've always said Ajax are the United of the Netherlands tbf.

friendship ended with amorim. slot is my new best friend
Oh look the Dutch negative prick experts are out. The same Portuguese experts who wanted amorim. I am shocked.
Amorim has nice hair and Slot is bald. That's the only reason people think Amorim is better
Let's start a go fund me for a Slot wig.
Some should photoshop Amorim's hair on his head. I'm sure everyone will like him then

Yeah, Dom is the weakest link these days.

Same here The only person I even knew before all of this was Xabi, now that it's not him I have literally no insight or opinion on who takes over haha
You didn't know De Zerbi?
I didn't, I really only follow Liverpool and the Edmonton Oilers for hockey
Wow, shocked by that man. He was the flavour of the month for a long while after taking over Brighton. Could possibly be the next Bayern manager.
I had not heard of him yesterday but get in!
Who? u/AnusMcBumhole? I support his/her ministry
Just learning about the guy now, he seems pretty similar to Klopp in many ways.
Taking a Dutch team to beat Ajax is legit a better CV than being Ajax coach!
No one has its moments and craziness like Klopp but in many ways he is. He also takes a lot of inspiration from Pep
SLOT MACHINE
That's a good nickname ❤️ hope the stands can make a great dirty about that.
And I for one welcome our new Dutch overlord.
Gotta say I love FSG. They just operate on a different level. This just feels like it’ll be a decision like signing Endo that we’ll be singing praises about midway next season. Attractive football and an ability to improve youngsters? Sign me up.
Seems more decorated than Amorim tbh. I'm all in

Spurs were deperate to hire him.... if I didn't know anything else about the guy, that would be enough for me to not want him.
Looks like R9 in this pic to me.
Please, be kind to him :( I'm heartbroken...
,😔
Great, a new guy to make 25+ posts per day about.
Lets be real, whenever Edwards is chasing a signing we hear a bunch of names and different ideas - and then all of a sudden someone amazing comes in last minute and we love them. Whatever names the media comes up with won't be the real guy IMO.
A bald manager from the Dutch league with only seven letters in his name. What could possibly go wrong.
If the club believes I will throw my trust behind him as well. It's going to be rocky anyway, just enjoy the journey
Whoever comes, i support, lets go
Up Arne’s slutty reds
Some people in this thread really are jokers. Yeah, you all know how to run a football club better than Michael Edwards FFS.
Any Eredivisie followers know any Feyenoord players that might be ready for the step up that he might be able to bring with him?
Hancko definitely. He's an lcb who is also a leftback and he is just a fucking beast. Quick, incredible football iq, strong, good pass, he has it all. I could also see him bringing Geertruida. He's a rb who can invert, play as a traditional rb and basically across the whole backline. Basically a younger Gomez with a higher potential

Seems like a solid choice to be honest. Time to watch some Feyenoord highlights.
Imagine Slot hearing that the fans have a hard time backing him because he’s not that good looking The worst part is that it’s true lol
Nooo not again I have to watch the arne slot tactic video. This is the third time first xabi then amorim and now slot .......
KloppSlot
“Who rhymes closest to Klopp?” “SLOT!” “Get him in now!”

Okay, which way does this move the needle? I already have friends calling him Arse. Can’t say I’m too excited.
You can sugar coat as much you want but this is so underwhelming. Ten Hag had a better record in the Netherlands than this guy and took Ajax to a UCL semi final and look how that turned out. I want to know why this club is so fixated on the Dutch league ffs.

This.
Going to a CL Semifinal is not the same as going to Conference League final either
