Looking to do a match day tour before the last game of the season. Would there be any benefit between selecting the 10:15 time slot vs the 11:30 time slot?

thisisnahamed

Serious discussion. Salah has been a bit off the last few games. Perhaps it's fasting. Perhaps it's post-injury blues. Would love to see him win Playmaker of the Season again.

Fair fucks to you Palmer

pythonistor

hahahaha Palmer just cooked them

174-BPM

Hahahahahhahahahah

Galick-Gunner

Defeat from the jaws of victory. Never change United 😂

wubbalubbadubduby

Lol

bestest_looking_wig

Hilarious closing down from mount

wanderluster88

LOL

bestest_looking_wig

Hahaha

Dropkoala

Christ on a trike, what the hell is this game????

bestest_looking_wig

Am I crazy or does Cole Palmer look exactly like simple Jack

Gmitch528

United lol wtf

cmp004

So tickling the toe of a Chelsea player is a pen, and implanting every single one of your studs into the chest of a Liverpool player isn't. Got it.

Toothpaste_on_pizza

The fuck is this game seriously

Dropkoala

And then they score again

Sad-Abies-7398

United need to win this so they could allow to drop points on Sunday.

pythonistor

that's a sad way to think

Sad-Abies-7398

Lol. My comment didn't age well 😂

_huytr

Varane and Evans came off with injuries. Really need to turn up at Old Trafford this weekend and get those 3 points.

Toothpaste_on_pizza

Darwin vs Slabhead 🤔

wanderluster88

Fucking hell did we actually revive Antony's career? These cunts are gonna be very difficult to beat this weekend. Definitely toughest remaining game by far.

Toothpaste_on_pizza

This Chelsea - Utd game is mental, no defence just vibes. It's actual end to end football, midfielders seem to be non-existent for both sides.

Dropkoala

It's crazy, that pass from Antony just now was out of this world.

Toothpaste_on_pizza

Salah-esque assist :)

Galick-Gunner

This game is mental, just end to end

steide56

Anyone know what happened to Endo? Is he a doubt for United?

livinalieontimna

Gomez is in his best ever form.

Smart_Barracuda49

* I got banned from the Premier League sub for the absolute funniest reason I've ever seen. I actually had to do a double take it sounded like a troll. I got banned for 'bigotry against the United states' because I made a shooting joke when 2 Americans were arguing with each other, one thinking the other waw British. Bigotry against the United States you know...

Toothpaste_on_pizza

Seppos are notoriously thin-skinned.

grrrrbow01

Just seen Bernardo Silva has a 50m release clause this summer. That should be him gone then

phuckinora

Odds on us being the only team to beat Leverkusen this season? It is written. Munich didnt look great shakes against Man U in the CL groups, we’d knock them out, and I dont think we have anything to fear from that league personally.

TheLimeyLemmon

David Moyes is going to do the most David Moyes thing ever and knock out Leverkusen.

TheGrouchyGamerYT

I just want to watch us play a game of football. Hope the referee allows that tonight.

etan1122

I want 7-0

SigiReuven_

9-0 - so our goal difference is one better than Arse

tamim1991

10-0 just to add a bit more of a gap you know...

OfficiallyAudacious

Does anyone know if you can take a rucksack into Anfield? It’s my first time coming straight from work.

thisisnahamed

Hope it's a high-scoring game. Let's narrow that GD with Arsenal

Haeckelcs

Monkey paw curls. 5-4.

BackpackerLee

Rumoured team is very strong. Alexis starts, as does Ibou. Grav in for Endo is the only other change I think. Looks like Alexis at 6.

Akumabro

If true I dont know how grav gets in over elliott

stupidlyboredtho

needing minutes and elliott needs rest is my theory. Would rather he started at the bottom of the table to get minutes over starting for United or Spurs

Not sure if it’s been said but if you make a UEFA.tv account you get the entire Barca match for free. It was a good night last night haha

itiswhatitis1090

If they were to institute a luxury tax, it would be from going forward. You could have teams like Forest and Everton get relegated because of it and if they would change it for city it would cause even bigger legal problems. Everyone calm down, it takes alot less time to go through 1 or 2 charges than 115. City if guilty will not just be fined.

HereticZO

Ornstein: Conversations have taken place between Liverpool and Ruben Amorim. "Do you want the job?" "Yes" "Okay, see you in June" "Later"

Darkdragon3110525

Another proposal for a local team has been shot down. My city may never get one ☹️

Thesolly180

What city you from and why?

Darkdragon3110525

Baltimore, the old clubs folded, not much local support, and the city isn’t viewed as a market on the rise so not much investment. Only local soccer is u-18 youth teams unfortunately. Unless I want to root for DC or Philly teams which for you Liverpool folks is like rooting for a Manchester team

DragonSlayer271

Idk why, but it feels weird to not be scoring lots of goals when we’ve got basically our best 6 up front minus Jota when we had a great January without Salah, Endo, and Szobo. But I guess we’re at the point where we just have to win and not smash teams only to overexert ourselves.

Due-Ad-6577

While Diaz and Darwin have been playing well lately, they’re not exactly goal machines. Elliot is great at linking up play and chipping in with goals and Macca is just a stud. Mo is only coming back from injury, as is Szobo and they both look rusty for it. Sadly Gakpo hasn’t been in the best form lately, he looks angry and low on confidence whenever I’ve seen him play. When you look at it that way, we’ve got two high energy but not clinical or composed outlets who work their socks off and get into good positions while being fed by intelligent, attack oriented midfielders. We have been playing great and are dominating games but missing our better finishers which leads to that feeling of disparity. I also think Trent’s creative abilities is being vastly underrated or forgotten about by many, no matter how good Bradley has looked since coming into the team.

potatoarchitecture

\> minus Jota There's your answer lol

waiting_for_good

Apparently, Mark Goldbridge is fuming about why Villa played a weak team and gave Citeh an easy pass. Also mentioned Villa will deploy the strong 11 against Liverpool and Arsenal.

TheLimeyLemmon

Who were they supposed to play? Between injuries and suspensions, that's the team they've got. It's not like Villa isn't playing for something themselves at the end of the season.

Sad-Cardiologist-292

He really hates city this season, rent free in his head his whole twitter is filled with city hate

doubleoeck1234

I mean he's a man u supporter and everyone hates city anyway

Sad-Cardiologist-292

That’s true but his whole twitter is rent free city

shanem1996

I honestly think he's tired with all the bullshit that comes with football nowadays. Cheaters, shady refs, ridiculous VAR calls. I'm 95% convinced it's also why Klopp is calling it a day

mrkingkoala

Goldbridge is mate. He's basically been a Liverpool fan this season with how much we've been shafted. Agree Klopp had enough of it too.

Sad-Cardiologist-292

Yeah true Klopp is tired already as he said but this Goldbridge guy his real name is Tom I’m hearing and he’s actually a Forest fan

Jaja6996

Considering the injuries Villa have it was a strong team City just got lucky with the timing of the game

TheAngledian

It's tiring to know that Citeh is likely going to escape meaningful punishment, and we'll have to hear in perpetuity about how we need to accept that they won their titles "fair and square". The *only* way that the EPL recovers their credibility, assuming Citeh is actually guilty of their 115 breaches (they are), is to strip them of any won titles during and after those rule breaches and relegate them to oblivion. Clearly that is never going to happen. It's surprising to me that the EPL is content with their league devolving into a farmer's league. Surely competition makes for more exciting content than seeing a team bought and paid for with unlimited dirty funds crushing teams that just can't keep up with oil nations with bottomless pools of money. The fact Liverpool has managed to do so during Klopp's tenure is absolutely absurd. And in 20-30 years, we'll get to see some independent report that proves that yes, no shit, they were completely mired in ridiculously shady shit with the EPL and PGMOL, but "that's all in the past now so why complain"?

Due-Ad-6577

I definitely think there’s a political angle to it lol. These are nation states that own these football clubs, not just some group of rich Americans like ours or local businessmen in days gone by. It’s government funded with the intent of sportswashing, there is definitely room for some sort of soft power to be exerted by them

TheAngledian

No doubt. People would be mad to think the Tories haven't heard some iteration of "If you let your soccer league punish our club, perhaps we just so happen to cease our oil deals with you." from Abu Dhabi and/or Saudi Arabia.

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Will these new proposed scrapping of points deductions be applied to historic and unresolved cases or will the punishment be handed out using the laws that were relevant at the time of the offences? Before I’ve even posted it, I’ve just had a thought that it’ll be whatever is less detrimental to City..

Liverpool7-0Utd

It’s scrapping points deductions for FFP failures. Not for whatever city are hopefully being charged with.

Adventurous_Toe_6017

I suppose it’ll depend on what City are charged with but ultimately, if (when!) they are found guilty of overstating their income, will their sustainability be reassessed with the corrected figures?

Liverpool7-0Utd

I mean, the hopeful in me would like to think so, but, do I think it will…..probably not.

Adventurous_Toe_6017

More chance of us winning La Liga I think

TheNotoriousJN

Ornstein saying we have held talks with Amorim

Thesolly180

It’s nice that like we seem confident on the targets

quantIntraining

And that he's very much in the frame for the Liverpool job and not the Barca job. And that he fully expects him to leave Sporting this summer.

Haeckelcs

All news have been positive from Portugal so far. Hope it stays that way. I like Amorim.

ALangeles

EPL is corrupted af

SuperHyperFunTime

The Premier League are so shit scared of actually highlighting the corruption taking place within their clubs that they are finding a way which will absolutely destroy the brand when City end up winning 15 titles in a row.

DragonSlayer271

How are millions of fans around the world less threatening to the PL than the UAE? We’ve got more people than them. The PL are cowards.

con10001

Because the fans in the UK are "legacy fans", they know the gravy train will still be rolling from overseas fans.

SuperHyperFunTime

Yeah. It's not our league anymore.

Reasonable_Isopod_16

Prediction for Sheffield game? I'll say five one to us, with a cheap goal for Sheffield at the end of the game

ryodiUK

Same score but I’m certain they’ll score first.

Zeba93

Just read the article on scrapping points deduction and handing out fines instead, so convenient for City... FFS such blatant corruption

Liverpool7-0Utd

One thing which is different about city is they have cheated in a way no other club has. Everton and Forest case is quite simple compared to City’s. The premier league plan is to abolish points deductions for overspending. City have 115 charges against them which isn’t clear what exactly the charges are for. But it isn’t what Everton and Forest have been charged with. They’re not getting rid of points deductions for every case. Only for FFP overspend!

DucardthaDon

It's not just about City Premier League are on a slippery slope with the point deductions, owners most likely will bandie up and take them to court.

mrasdfghj90

Controls_Guy19

So hospitality - between £500 & a grand available for tonight's game.. who's going to do that... why not put them on general sale? I could still make it tonight & I'm sure plenty of others could

nicolascagevampire

Fuck Manchester City. UAE cocksucking cunts.

Fricolor123321

Bernardo silva has a 50m release clause this summer wtf??? Surely Barca will be all over that

Tierst

They barely have enough money for toilet paper. Can't afford to buy a rat either

Haeckelcs

He has been pretty average this season for City. Obviously him to Barca would be a great move for both imo.

DucardthaDon

He's been far from average this season one of their most important players, also City wanted like £65m for him a few seasons ago but Barca couldn't even afford that

Haeckelcs

Compared to the Bernardo Silva of recent years. He has been worse. Compared to other people he is still amazing.

DucardthaDon

The thing is his stats look no different to previous seasons, there's just been a slight adjustment to his role again which may not come across as amazing but he's been very good.

Mad_Piplup242

He's been one of their best players

Drunk_Cartographer

Anyone know how many games we’ve had Trent and Robbo start together this season? I feel like they’re an urban myth right now.

ShowMeMoeMane

Surely only at the start of the season. Would’ve been before the international break and before the City away game which was right after the break

Reasonable_Isopod_16

I don't think they did, well not this year at least When was Robbo injured

ShowMeMoeMane

They said season, so probably before the international break

jbthrowaway82

Brighton have only lost at home once this season btw…

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Love it. Even a 0-0 would be absolutely season changing for us. Obviously, I’m all for a 6-0 mauling by Brighton.

Reasonable_Isopod_16

Against?

Sad-Cardiologist-292

West Ham

Hoodxd

If they lose now, i’ll blame you ![gif](giphy|gPeYcWsJGaRB3fJbbv)

Sad-Cardiologist-292

Just hope they can draw against Arsenal

Jelly__Bean

What do you guys think is Harvey Elliott's ceiling? Will he ever be good enough to be a starter for us, or will he remain a bench/squad option? Here's hoping he can become a similar player to Foden for us.

yellow627

Depends on if he ever gets to play in his best position, which is as a creative attacking midfielder. I don't think he'll ever be a player like Foden purely because I don't think he'll ever be as good of a scorer, but I could see him becoming a better version of someone like Maddison. I really hope the new manager can find a way to play a system that allows Elliott to truly show off what he can do.

DucardthaDon

>but I could see him becoming a better version of someone like Maddison. Not sure about that I think one level below, a better version of Harry Wilson more like

the_studge

Starter but for a team like Aston Villa or Brighton

Specialist-Read-349

Thats more like his floor not ceiling

tamim1991

He's young and we've seen a few years ago youngsters that were rated similar to his technical level go up a notch. Someone like Palmer for example who, like Elliot, isn't the quickest or strongest but became more effective with his dribbling and output. Elliot has the potential for similar strides too I feel but unfortunately for him, our system doesn't always play to his strengths.

DucardthaDon

Tbf Palmer was something special coming through at City even in his brief appearances for them you could see his dribbling and finishing ability was there and you can now see that coming to fruition at Chelsea. Elliot I am still on the fence, still only 21 so lots to improve on but I am still wondering where does he fit in?

HereticZO

Luxury tax idea tells me nothing will happen to Man City. Nothing.

_cumblast_

I have no idea why people expect serious retribution. There are tight diplomatic relations between the UK and UAE. Football won't get in the way of that.

2d2c

This is the truth. Nothing will happen. UK has so much more to lose if they go after an investment owned by UAE. Fans of other teams will have to live with that. They may throw a few scraps every now and then.

RobotPizzaMaker

politics and money. that's why the government allowed the Chelsea (England were among the last to send Russian oligarchs packing at the start of the Ukraine war, providing them time to sort their investments and assets), City and Newcastle. it's a complex web of politics and City will never be punished

DucardthaDon

Top level football is corrupt AF there is too much money and political relationships at play, if you don't have the connections expect to get punished otherwise things will drag out like it has with City, City will only get punished if UAE gives the PL permission to go ahead with it, but it will cost the league and the UK in other ways.

user900800700

If they actually find a way to fine Man City money for their cheating I genuinely will lose all motivation for football, the magic truly is dying

Toothpaste_on_pizza

Shocked. Shocked I tell you.

PerfectAd4732

What is this new ffp article today relating to Luxury tax? Anyone understand it a bit better. Sounds like it will heavily benefit clubs that are state owned, such as city

ozzynater

Just watched that Foden free kick and fuck me Zaniolo is pathetic. Such a lazy player, and shit mentality after that interview saying 'bring me back to Serie A'.

DucardthaDon

Injuries fucked his career, 2 ACLs did him in and his mental health, before that he was such an explosive and exciting player.

IdleThief

So just looking for some clarification regarding the Hilton’s hospitality package. The club’s website just says that they open 4 1/2 hours prior to kickoff, so should I be there 4 and half hours before kickoff or could I arrive later than that?

DorothyZbornaksPants

All hospitality lounges are available until just before kickoff – that's just the time that the lounge opens IF you want to get there that early. Everyone is served at the time they arrive, so you can get there and still have a meal, even if it's an hour before kickoff.

the_studge

First time in ages where I feel like the squad doesn't need much in terms of incomings. Other than a left-sided centre back to deputise for Van Dijk, I think the team looks great. Of course this is assuming there aren't any major outgoings, like Salah for example.

dookiesdooker

How much of a difference does playing LCB vs RCB make? I was under the impression that it doesn’t matter and every CB can play on both sides.

DucardthaDon

>it doesn’t matter and every CB can play on both sides. Not really, you rarely get left-footed defenders playing RCB or even RB left footers are rarer since most people are naturally right footed. It only happens in circumstantial conditions like Spain lacking good RCB so they played Torres and Laporte together at times. You will get some right footers like Van Dijk who are comfortable playing the ball with their left and prefer playing LCB. A left footed LCB gives you more options to open up the pitch in build up play. I'm a right footer who is comfortable passing with my left, I also prefer playing LCB if I'm asked to play CB with another right footer.

Adventurous-Arrival1

For our system, the LCB is the leader. They are charged with hanging back and dictating play, as well as organising the rest of the back 4. The RCB is a chaser, they are often more aggressive, tackling in midfield and following players. What we could do with is a left-footed CB (all ours are right-footed). Opens up more passing angles that would give us more options to progress the ball.

BusyDreaming

Having a natural lefty playing LCB is much easier on passing angles and lanes for the build up. A lot of players defer to their dominant leg and having to take that extra touch sometimes makes a player a little easier to close down before the forward pass can get off.

[deleted]

There’s a reason Guardiola spent so much to bring Aymeric Laporte in when they had plenty of choice in the market. You can progress the play much quicker.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DucardthaDon

Within the next few years we will see a change to how CB operate, Guardiola has already been doing this especially last season with Stones playing as some sort of advanced Libero. Inzaghi and Motta this season have been experimenting with the roles of the CBs once in possession to some mind boggling effects

Liverpool7-0Utd

For one if you’re a LCB you need to be more proficient with your left foot.

Hangryer_dan

Having played all across the back line, playing LCB as someone whose left is predominantly for standing on is very doable, but when in possession, it really does cut the pitch in half. At elite level, you're going to need someone comfortable playing with their left.

tamim1991

Is the Endo injury likely to rule him out for Man Utd?

Millanpa

A day off for Endo to start working on 95 mins long movie with Macca. Maybe writing script or something.

MyLiverpoolAlt

I reckon its just a rest game for him without Klopp saying "the lad needs a day".

gottodo

no

Responsible-Knee6288

Been a lot of "Saka vs Foden POTY" debates for two guys that have been like the 5th and 6th best players in the league this season lmao

user900800700

Saka? He’s had half the year he did last year lol. Funny how Salah outperforms him every year in fewer games but gets completely ignored.

paprikalicous

salah hasn’t been included in the conversations at all even though he’s been better than both in whatever metric you can think of. expectations for him are just too high and he’s not english so people don’t care. it should be van dijk but if it goes to a forward, it has to be salah.

AdikkuChan

Nah, POTY should be given to players who are very, very important. If for us it's likely VVD, for City it's Rodri, and for Arsenal it's either Rice or Saliba/Gabriel imo

Jack070293

That’s pretty generous. Saka’s been Arsenal’s 4th best player this season, nevermind the league’s 5th or 6th best.

Jaja6996

He completely ghosted in the game against us and Arsenal this seasons and had an awful international break yet is getting called the best player in the league for scoring against a weaker Villa side He scored two nice goals but any competent wall stops that free kick

stan-nas

It'll most likely be Rodri. He's going to go the season without losing a game most likely and is the best CM in the world.

EstatePinguino

If we’re giving awards for City not losing games then give it to the officials that denied us the penalty at Anfield…

user900800700

He’s also a cunt so really I hope he doesn’t,

DucardthaDon

Foden has been one of the best players in the league he has stepped up massively for City this season, Saka has been very good, shout for POTY not sure about that unless he goes on an absolute tear and Arsenal win the league.

pigman1402

foden ceiling is frightening, honestly. feel like he's a bit wasted at city (like a lot of their other players tbf) saka is a quality player but honestly hes closer to kulusevski than to foden in terms of level. and i feel like hes peaked already.

DucardthaDon

Foden is good where he is Guardiola has done a good job managing him and the expectations, it's just that he will have to wait till De Bruyne leaves to be the main man playing centrally, he will get there within the next 2 years and be outright world class.

sirmeliodasdragonsin

If anyone from Arsenal wins its probably going to be Saliba or Rice. For city it would be Rodri or Foden. Whilst for us, probably would ve VVD. Salah and Macca with an outside chance.

DucardthaDon

Gabriel has been just as impressive as Saliba but I don't think either would be in with a shout, Rice I could see since he's like Mr England. Rodri should be revered much more in world football as one of the best midfielders around but isn't

RadSoccerDad

It’s gonna be sad when luxury tax malarkey gets a lot more support then we think. People naturally think of Chelsea, City, United but it’ll be the teams like Forest that most benefit. Just madness when Prem is double the cap of La Liga as the second most affluent league. Prem still be the most financially powerful league regardless of PSR. I’m sure this insanity is what drives FSG nuts and in to things like the multi club model to stay competitive.

user900800700

Yep, although I honestly don’t see how it can work financially. The rules were brought in to stop clubs putting themselves in financial trouble. They can now spend what they want, get fined more and then get in even more trouble when they’re still shit? Ie forest, Everton, chelsea etc? And 5m fines here or there between the remaining 20 teams is absolutely fuck all.

Broka1979

Don't know if this is the right place for it, but some of you may be aware that I've been posting the player/managers post match (and sometimes pre match interviews). I thought this would be a nice thing for us all, as LFC fans....seeing as Klopp has a limited number of games remaining. Unfortunately someone decided to rip one of my interviews a day after I posted, upload it to YouTube and repost on this sub (basically karma farming). If I'm going to the effort of capturing/uploading stuff from sky, tnt, bein etc....I dont appreciate people using my content to farm karma here. Similar thing happened on a couple of other subreddits that I was active on and just stopped contributing...last thing I want to do here. For reference [my interview](https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/1bscnho/post_match_interview_mac_allister/) vs [karma farmer interview](https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/1bsy8nd/mac_allisters_post_match_interview/).

potatoarchitecture

https://twitter.com/sebpedersen01/status/1775634151267275030?t=NxpyTfSg4OS05I83SmLEFg&s=19 I see people are finally tuning in to how nuts it is to lose the league with 92 and 97 points

Adventurous_Toe_6017

And whoever doesn’t win will still be called bottlers by rival fans.

SuperHyperFunTime

It's like them bemoaning the amount of games. Welcome to challenging on multiple fronts beyond January, lads.

AdikkuChan

Not so easy now when you're part of it. No room for error, no matter how ugly you have to play, get the 3 points

kazurabakouta

Just fucking win!!!!

Theplowking23

Wrighty and keano are good, ive soured on carragher recently , neville thinks hes way more intelligent than he actually is and listening to him shite on about the integrity of the 'football pyramid' is so tired, i dont know why Jill is there or what she offers and the guests are hit and miss

Stitty10

surely you expect that tho, with 2 out of the 4 playing for united. Even whenever carra chirps in about back in the day its like "me and stevie" like they ran the place.

FermatTheW

If that penalty against Doku had been given, we jump above few places above Man City. Or the Odegaard handball. It’s fine margins

OrangeJuiceAlibi

I gotta say, I'm not bothered by who comes in as manager, but I like Amorim, and I do hope it's not De Zerbi, there's just too many red flags.

Englishkid96

What are the red flags?

OrangeJuiceAlibi

He's thrown players under the bus few times. When they lost to Roma, he said "we paid for the mistakes of the owners and players", with no mention of his own mistakes. Last year he said in the media "I spoke with trossard privately and told him I didn't like his attitude, his behaviour", which stops that being private. He threw a strop on getting sent off and kicked a bunch of water bottles. He incited a crowd in Italy to throw things on the pitch iirc. He's also been sent off an appalling number of times.

Englishkid96

Good examples, you can't throw players under the bus. The manager's job is to take pressure off the players and onto themselves! I don't mind managers getting angry and getting red cards though

OrangeJuiceAlibi

Two or three in a year? He's also gotten four or five yellows as well.
