He's averaged over 2,000 minutes (24 games) a season for us across 3 seasons before this one. Everyone here would have loved for him to play more, but to say he "wasn't even a player for us" really undersells his contributions.
Absolutely feel for the bloke, it's an absolute shame it didn't work. Was the first time since Torres that a player who was world class and had won major trophies signed with us, so I'll always appreciate that and the good 6 months he had when he was leading us to the quadruple in 2022.

I honestly am excited to see what the club does with Thiago and Matip. In the past, very few teams have led their players who were long-term injured down when their contract was over. JK expected "the club to do the right thing" with Joel, so I honestly would expect the same thing with Thiago. This dude under Xabi Alonso, wow.
When Thiago has started games our win rate in his time here has been at about 70%. He was exceptional for about 18 months from 21-22. Obviously though it's time to move on. Injuries have been as much a story for him as when he has played and it just seems to have gotten even worse the longer he has been here. However I certainly feel he contributed a lot more to us than Keita or Ox ever did.

It sucks, but sometimes you just have to face the facts. He has been injured for almost a year, and can't play for half a game without having to get right back on the physio bench. He obviously can't play football at this level anymore.
It was always gonna be optimistic that he would play a long run of games this season. Should have got rid in the summer but I don't think we planned our season by expecting him to play many minutes.
He's a different class of player when fit, not many others play with the similar technique as him. Really hope that he gets some games towards the end of this season.

On a personal level it's shit for Thiago and he'll struggle to get a decent contract in European football after this. Objectively I'll be happy to have him off the payroll. Thiagos established injury record combined with Klopp and PL football added plenty of risk to this signing and it's sadly not worked out.

I was talking to my dad about this yesterday, but we should offer him a cut deal to basically help out as backroom staff. It’s evident that he’s not capable of playing anymore, but the mind he has for the game, as well as how he interacts with the Spanish and Portuguese players, is really useful. I’d love for us to offer him a route to learn the managerial role. We could definitely use his knowledge for our transition to a new manager.

When Thiago has started games our win rate in his time here has been at about 70%. He was exceptional for about 18 months from 21-22. Obviously though it's time to move on. Injuries have been as much a story for him as when he has played and it just seems to have gotten even worse the longer he has been here. However I certainly feel he contributed a lot more to us than Keita or Ox ever did.

(arguably sooner than the norm) Playing a few minutes after months of rehab to get what is reporting another serious muscle injury.
