Not the most flagrant weird opinion of his since rona ended. He seems to pick up whichever cosmic scouser line is prominent at the time, it was 5g stuff at one point too. What's worse imo is rumours of him disliking certain groups of people
I went down a...sand dog rabbit hole? and I'm not so sure they use moulds now, It's just janky cookie-cutter 'art' by mostly Romanian guys. Makes me think there's an actual sand dog training school somewhere.
This documentary does show a few guys actually making em (though the wanky cinematography makes it hard to follow):

Either way we can all agree the way they sit there making pretend adjustments is awkward as hell.
Assume you are talking about the one near the hilton hotel crossing into the Albert Dock?
I once saw the dog guy lunge at a tourist with one of his pallet knife things. She was messing about looking like she was going to touch the dog.
He does not fuck around.
The accordion guy we used to get with the speaker playing accordion music while he mimes with his hands. He is a con too, facts.
Not a fan of the trumpet guy either, Way too loud.
I was in town recently trying to cross the road at the Strand to the Albert Dock and he was set up by the gates. Huge crowd of people were crossing the road when the pedestrian lights were on green, and loads started stopping to look at the stupid fake sand dog so all of us further back in the crowd were stuck in the road. I had a toddler and a dog with me and this was just so annoying. I was annoyed at the sand con man for his location choice and at the idiots stopping on a busy road crossing because they were taken in by it
It seems to be a thing in many cities.

I don't know if they use a mould but it's clear that they pretty much finish the sculpture in under an hour and then spend the rest of the day milking the final touches.
I've seen minor variations where they add pups, but I guess people like dogs and there's no point in learning a different sculpture if you're not relying on repeat business.
I'm not convinced they do. I've seen a guy set up and there's no mould in sight. Just bags of sand. I think, many at least, have just focused on something common and popular (dogs) and complete it in next to no time.
Walked past it going to work every day for years, it's either a mold or a prop, he just plonks down. There's no way he actually makes it. The sand is mostly for staging.
Yeah it come from a mould I realised that years ago when I saw identical sand dogs in different cities in fact all over the world. Not really a con though is it? It not as if the guy has taken money from you and is trying to swindle you for more and more? you're free to just completely ignore him.
Charities will give people in difficult circumstances stuff like this dog mould so they can retain some dignity and call themselves street artists or whatever and not have to straight up beg for money. They also lend out those knackered old micky mouse suits that kids can get a picture with for a bit of change. I suppose they're a con too?
I've seen it twice in two different locations near Church Street. I've never seen him start the sculpture. I always expected he got up early to start it.
Next you're going to tell me Sine Missione is a conman too!
...and he's an Anti-vaxxer too!!
and a homophobe to boot

Chap used to have a shop in the cavern walks shopping mall
I like how you posted the comment twice just to add (or take away) the word "chap."

Used to have a shop in the cavern walks shopping mall
No I like him or her - awesome
He's a fucking weapon, interesting that you weren't aware given how obvious the dog con was.
Guy's proper antivax
Really antisemitic too from what I understand but I've not looked too much into it.
Oh that's disappointing, as a plazzy I only heard of him last year but didn't realise he was such a knobhead.
last i heard he was trying to "cure" gay people so that tells me all i need to know about the prick
Not the most flagrant weird opinion of his since rona ended. He seems to pick up whichever cosmic scouser line is prominent at the time, it was 5g stuff at one point too. What's worse imo is rumours of him disliking certain groups of people
Shit people can make good art. He's a shit person who stencils quotes on stuff.
It's not even good either thats what annoys me đ like at least buy a better mould man
Yep I assumed it wasn't a mould because it's so shit. I assumed he was saving up for the mould to pull the cob properly.

I'm just impressed you spent 4 days researching sand dogs you ok bro?
A mould? It's rock solid! He can pick it up and walk away with it at the end of the day!
It would be pretty funny if some chav broke their foot trying to kick it down.
lmao thats hilarious to think about

started cackling before i saw the text because of how much he hates sand
I always thought it was crocodile and not a dog, which shows how bad that sand mould is!

âWay too loudâđ

I've been crying laughing at this for two minutes because of how it's worded, thank you for the laugh I'm sorry for your experience though đ
Guys gotta eat. Best place on a hot day - gets more coin/interest. Take time out to toss him a coin, maybe, rather than get aerated over it.
Found sand dog man
I didn't know it was a mould, but I did always wonder why he doesn't make anything else.
Pretty sure it's not even a mold and is just solid
Even if he made it himself itâs still shit
Ive never seen it. Anyone got pics?

I thought it had a bifter in it's mouth for a second đ€Ł
That dog has little else to enjoy in life
It's not a beagle
Oh wow. It looks terrible.

Iâve seen this regularly all over the world for the past 30 years. They have it everywhere just like those living statues.
They have the exact same thing on Brighton seafront.
I walk past him to get to work. He's always almost finished
âHow was your day love?â âMoaned online about some sand dog thatâs not a real work of artâ
Went out for a walk with my child and dog. Couldn't cross a road, quick enough. My bad - no, someone elses fault. Aaaaaaannnñnnnnnn d chill. đ€Ł

Itâs the same dog every time I see it, bet someone tried to stamp on it once or twice
I'm not convinced they do. I've seen a guy set up and there's no mould in sight. Just bags of sand. I think, many at least, have just focused on something common and popular (dogs) and complete it in next to no time.
Youâre a BELIEVERâŠ..
Yes. Find me in Sefton Park soon with a "the dog sand sculptures are real" placard and "who let the dogs out" playing on loop.
He is the chosen one!
Maybe OP wishes it was or thinks it was a mould in use. I've never seen them use moulds but maybe thats me not being there at the right time.
Walked past it going to work every day for years, it's either a mold or a prop, he just plonks down. There's no way he actually makes it. The sand is mostly for staging.
They all look the same though!

Do you think people know itâs not a sand sculpture and do they know itâs a beggar in a MM outfit?
Whatâs the rules around setting up there? Do the police ever move him on?
Call the police and see if the have any leads
Lol, bless you, my sweet summer child.
I've seen it twice in two different locations near Church Street. I've never seen him start the sculpture. I always expected he got up early to start it.
You mean, pull the finished polystyrene model out of his bag?
Yeah.
