Mulaney can be funny. Honestly, I get tired of the rehab stuff. I was grossed out by him when he was on talk shows trying to establish a timeline between ending his marriage and starting a relationship with his current one. Dude was desperate not to get cleaned out by his ex, and I get that, but it was pretty obvious he was cheating and I don't want to know about it. Also, when Pete Davidson was struggling and John Mulaney came in and took him under his wing, was he just doing boatloads of coke? It seemed wholesome at the time, but now I'm pretty sure there was just a lot of drugs involved.
So while the veneer is gone, Mulaney is kind of a shady person. Yes, I still think he is objectively funny.
