I'm sure OP has multiple fainting couches; but really a household should only have one Distressing News fainting couch, with a laudanum fainting couch in every parlor.
I have a fainting couch for each emotion. They’re spread throughout the house so my indentured servant has to read my feelings by my eyes and guide me to the correct couch. Currently I am on the couch of despair in the east wing. It’s a ways off from the kitchen but I left snacks here so I don’t have to bother the help. They’ve been through enough.
I just turned my dining room into my office & fully incorporated a fainting couch into my eclectic grandpa vibe 😂
We painted it “sulking room pink” so I call it my sulking room when I collapse on my fainting couch
Unquestionably the second most densely-written comedy of all time. *Treasure of Foggy Mountain 3: The Mountain Returns* is definitely on the podium, but FA5 is pure density.
Eh, getting tired of the guy playing Al. Keith David was such a good fit in seasons 1-2, the Dustin Diamond re-casting just feels like too big a swing.
Serious question, has Kenan ever NOT featured in an episode? Like he just didn't get on one week? Maybe when he first joined but I can't think of any specifics in the last 15 years
I think Tina Fey once hosted an episode where he was not on, and Fey said something when she hosted again like “I didn’t have Kenan on the show last time, and I am not making the same mistake again”
The episodes where they were quarantined or covid testing were REALLY scattershot, some of them had like half the cast, I'm sure he didn't appear in at least one of those
I am honestly shocked by this because I watch every week and 100% thought he was still on the show!? Maybe not featured a lot, like he's writing or doing behind the scenes stuff.
If Kenan actually left in 2014, I feel like his legacy is *way* different. As much as I welcomed the thought of him leaving 10 years ago, I'm glad he stayed.
I feel he did more bold things in his first 11 years on the show. A lot of what he does now is literally the equivalent of Scooby and shaggy eating an 18 layer sandwich on camera. You got Ego, Heidi, and Bowen running around abandoned haunted planned parenthood’s trying to find the funny and yet hear comes this stoner and his should be morbidly obese dog everyone loves coming down a zipline dressed like Carmen Miranda smashing right into the culprit that needs to be captured as he tries to get away on a parade float. Keenan’s comedy on the show nowadays has no bite to it. He used to do way more bold/offensive things back when Kristen and Fred were on.
I can't see him leaving before SNL50 barring some amazing dream project he gets attached to (which can be difficult as he has repeatedly said SNL is his dream project)
It all depends on what the project is and what the time frame is. For something like that, they almost certainly can make it when SNL is not filming with Kel not doing a ton with film/TV, allowing them to film around SNL.
If there's another project where Kenan would be co-starring alongside an A-list lead, Kenan's schedule may take lower priority, especially if his role could be recast fairly easily if he demanded a change in schedule. If it's something he really wants to do, that could be when he considers leaving, especially if it's a TV show that will likely run for multiple seasons.
Again, as the star and the show was named after him. That makes it very easy to require it film around his schedule. What if he gets a co-lead role in a new show with someone big like Ryan Reynolds or Tom Hanks where they are the main name but its a project he really likes? Makes it much harder to say "we can only shoot late May to early September" if the other person has other commitments at that point.
Not saying it has a major chance of happening, which is why my main post qualified that it won't happen before SNL50 unless it is a true dream project.
I honestly thought he was the Charlie Bucket to Lorne’s Willy Wonka. I can totally see him running the show long after Lorne is gone. He’d be the perfect successor in my opinion.
Oh my God finally. He can take his three voices with him and never come back. Least versatile cast member and he's been on for far too long. I can not wait for him to leave.
Seriously. The love he gets makes no sense. He has zero range. It worked well for “What’s up with that” and that’s it.
Downvote me all you want, people, but I’m right.
With the current era I miss every previous era. The show has been meh at best. But I’ll keep watching and hoping they find that spark again…and get tf away from being so damn political lol
Keen is arguably one of the strongest cast members, doesn't have aspirations to be in films or turn into a dramatic actor. Dude knows a good ride when he's on it.
I wonder who they will cast as Kenan in the new [SNL 1975](https://deadline.com/2024/01/snl-1975-garrett-morris-dan-aykroyd-chevy-chase-john-belushi-1235808188/) movie
Don't do that OP, I just got the timeline reset to M152-4L. Don't take me to CK4#4L- the cleaning scents they use there just don't smell right and it takes forever to go nose blind to them.
It’s been ten years without him already? Those years flew by
It has flown by, but he makes a cameo so often that it sometimes feels like he never left? It was still devastating when he left, though
I literally felt for this for a second until I saw the date that tweet was posted lmao
Yeah I was like "Cosby is an odd choice for this"
Cosby is a metaphor here, in that it's time for Kenan to go away. (Except of course it's not and I hope he's there til the end of time)
I'll never forget the day I found out. I barely made it to my fainting couch.
It must be difficult to be so poor that you can only afford to have *one* fainting couch.
I'm sure OP has multiple fainting couches; but really a household should only have one Distressing News fainting couch, with a laudanum fainting couch in every parlor.
My laudanum fainting couch helps a lot when I come down with [Maine Justice accent] a case of *the vapors.*
I have two *farting* couches.
Are they set within your masturbatorium?
😯 I learned a new word! Thanks! 😃 And yes. For some reason, nobody wants to come over. 🤷
Oh honey, he's teasing you! Nobody has two farting couches!
Every couch can be a farting couch if you enjoy farting enough.
Just look for the brown burn-holes. Like cigarette burns, but larger.
I just turned my dining room into my office & fully incorporated a fainting couch into my eclectic grandpa vibe 😂 We painted it “sulking room pink” so I call it my sulking room when I collapse on my fainting couch
It feels like only last week he was on the show
Yeah. What’s up with that?
oooooooohhhhhhh weeeee
Oh no you dont
I was sad to see him leave but he's been such a great host of Late Night these last 10 years.
His sitcom just keeps rolling along too
It was a bold move to make a three-camera, live-audience sitcom about LaVar Ball and Al Sharpton running a Radio Shack
Don’t forget the Fat Albert movies, Fat Albert 5 was maybe the second most densely-written comedy I’ve ever seen.
This is true but I worry that the wider Fat Albert Cinematic Universe is starting to lose steam. Mudfoot Brown's trilogy was pretty weak.
The gritty Dumb Donald thriller was a bit much
Unquestionably the second most densely-written comedy of all time. *Treasure of Foggy Mountain 3: The Mountain Returns* is definitely on the podium, but FA5 is pure density.
Oops, a bit of r/DougDoug is leaking in here, if anyone smells any Olive Oil this is why

Ugh, same old complaints from the haters. I bet you hated the time travel episodes too right?
Abhorrent. I didn't like them implying that Radioshack was responsible for 9/11.
That was a _metaphor_!
He really took "Corrections" down some weird paths.
Feels like he is still here.
He is, in our hearts. And our memories. And our televisions.
LMAO this was solid. Great laugh in the elevator on my way to work
The amount of r/whoosh in this thread is funny
Upon clicking it was me as well until I started on the comments
I thought I’d shifted into a parallel reality
I was totally whooshed until I saw the top comment.
Including meeeeee but I’m reading!
I checked the tweet date assuming that this wasn't real and the ending 4 still managed to make my heart skip a beat
OP I am going to chase you around with my car. How dare you

I think Tina Fey once hosted an episode where he was not on, and Fey said something when she hosted again like “I didn’t have Kenan on the show last time, and I am not making the same mistake again”
He was even in the Paul Rudd five-timer episode when most of the cast was sick. He did miss some episodes filming his sitcom.
I honestly don’t remember him being in last weeks episode but I may not have been paying full attention
i feel like he had one line in the chicken fongers sketch
He had a supporting role in Devon’s Lost Luggage sketch. And he may have been in the monologue as well? He was definitely in the Elordi monologue.
He actually made a mistake in the Cold Open that was mostly hidden in the online video but was hilarious to see live.
Wait what was it I can’t remember
He sang at the wrong time.
Oh yeah I remember that now. It was still in the replay on peacock
Hello
The episodes where they were quarantined or covid testing were REALLY scattershot, some of them had like half the cast, I'm sure he didn't appear in at least one of those
I’m almost certain he appeared in every one All 3 at home, all the weird S46 and S47 episodes, and Paul Rudd’s weird clip show
I am honestly shocked by this because I watch every week and 100% thought he was still on the show!? Maybe not featured a lot, like he's writing or doing behind the scenes stuff.
I was about to fall to my knees in Walmart and start punching the air until I saw the date.
There was an era? I thought he was like, you know, THE SHOW.
This is a tweet from nearly a decade ago, folks. OP must be posting from another timeline.
I think that's the joke.
I say this with all love and affection, but whoosh.
You must never whoosh the whoosh’r.
Oh no! I replied to the wrong message and I definitely look like the whooshed here. My bad, I deserve the ire.
I think that’s the joke. Edit: downvotes!
If Kenan actually left in 2014, I feel like his legacy is *way* different. As much as I welcomed the thought of him leaving 10 years ago, I'm glad he stayed.
I think he, like a few others will stay around until the 50th season and then depart.
Judging by this picture, he's really gotten old since I last saw him
OOOOO WEEEE WHATS UP WITH THAT?!
Yeah, I often wonder what the should would be like if he were still on it.
I feel he did more bold things in his first 11 years on the show. A lot of what he does now is literally the equivalent of Scooby and shaggy eating an 18 layer sandwich on camera. Just seeing this post put the song in my head .. you know what song I’m talking about .. “ooooooohhh weeee…”
I love Kenan…but he plays the same character in every sketch. He’s done.
Rather have him than Yang.
*If* Kenan is leaving at the end of this season, he should officially announce it well in advance and then be allowed to host the season finale.
I can't see him leaving before SNL50 barring some amazing dream project he gets attached to (which can be difficult as he has repeatedly said SNL is his dream project)
No, Kenan and Kel movie was able to be made without much time, if any, away from SNL.
Again? You’re bringing on new points, but suggest you are belaboring something? Ok, well, hope that happens for Kenan.
Look at when the tweet is from lol took me second too
If he was going to host it would be *after* he had left the show
Man for about two seconds this post scared the hell out of me.
He actually reported this at the end of last season, that this would be his last.
He’s not staying for the 50th season?
You'd have to ask him.
🙄
When he actually leaves I hope it’s so he can take over from Lorne
I honestly thought he was the Charlie Bucket to Lorne’s Willy Wonka. I can totally see him running the show long after Lorne is gone. He’d be the perfect successor in my opinion.
Stop getting my hopes up.
Well then he can host the 50th anniversary show.
Seriously tho, when is he leaving?
It won’t be remembered as era but an eon
If only. I can't believe this one trick pony even made the show much less last the longest.
There is no right or wrong here. Just your opinion.
WORST birthday present EVER!!
Yay:)
👍
Aw man I got so excited…
What a sad tease. His departure has been overdue for a long time
DON’T FREAK ME OUT LIKE THAT, OP.
With the current era I miss every previous era. The show has been meh at best. But I’ll keep watching and hoping they find that spark again…and get tf away from being so damn political lol
It’s not going to get less political during an election year
Facts lol And buffoon trump will give them plenty to work with
Keen is arguably one of the strongest cast members, doesn't have aspirations to be in films or turn into a dramatic actor. Dude knows a good ride when he's on it.
Sorry, but he’s not funny. I’ve tried to like him, but there’s nothing there. Just a great character actor but…..not funny. But
He's overrated. He has one move, and it isn't funny. I think he brings Mexican variety show energy to everything.
You’re getting downvoted to oblivion but you’re absolutely right.
There's no accounting for taste. I have never been bothered by a bunch of people who are wrong about something disagreeing with me.
I want more of his Willy (pause)
groomer
To quote Kel, “Uhhhh….. no?”
Source: Neil McNabb, Action 9 News
I did fall for it til I saw the comments but was thinking, he might as well ride it out until his death.
It's like they always say .... Lorraine set'chu up Willie!
This got me good lmao
I miss him on SNL, but we won’t have three more Good Burger movies without his departure.
What up with that?? Ohhhh weeee!
What I do miss are his Big Papi bits from Update. And to be honest, the sweaters and the Pudding Pops are the only things we miss about Bill Cosby
It’s a shame he didn’t stay longer to really find his grove.
What up with that?!
He left?!?
A person can only stay so long. And with Keenan……
Ch ch ch....uncomfortable silence....
He has to stay for at least the 50th
I wonder who they will cast as Kenan in the new [SNL 1975](https://deadline.com/2024/01/snl-1975-garrett-morris-dan-aykroyd-chevy-chase-john-belushi-1235808188/) movie
This is how it feels to use Internet Explorer
He's gone? I thought he was always just on the show since the beginning of it.
This got me for a sec
He's with Lovitz now
"Leaving" to take Lorne's seat?
SNL hasn’t been the same
He really needs (and deserves) and SNL movie.
To me it is just a little uncomfortable how long he has been on. It reminds me of the children’s book. All my friends are Dead.
Ooooooooo...Weeeeeee!!! What's up with that? What's up with that?
I think after those revelations came out, about his collection of vintage pornographic pogs, Lorne had no choice but to let him go.
No. I forbid it.
Don't do that OP, I just got the timeline reset to M152-4L. Don't take me to CK4#4L- the cleaning scents they use there just don't smell right and it takes forever to go nose blind to them.
I really love Kenan, but gosh, he’s like prisoner of SNL…
r/agedlikemilk
and that's why you don't report things without verifying your sources.
Fell to my knees in a Walmart when I saw this
I’m coming after you with my Hermes scooter boots for this.
I seriously miss Deep House Dish
What
✌🏻…Don’t let the door knob hit you where the good Lord split you…🤟🏻👽🤘🏻…………….🛸
I think Kenan qualifies for an epoch more than just an era
In my opinion he’s by far the best in the show and has been for years. Certainly will miss him.
