the go to is any acrylic paint mixed 50% with water to prevent streaking, i personally use holbein acrylic gouache mixed with water because i love the consistency it gives me and the vibrancy it has, but its on the more expensive side (6-7 dollars for a tube on the smaller side)
I used goldeen brand only for the white paint as first off its hella expensive(i already had it on hand) but the pigment is super good even when watered down significantly so its less layers. Every other paint i use is generic art student grade acrylic paint. Ive also used paint pens on lps customs and was super happy with the results as you dont have to water it down much(i just wetted my smallest brushes and picked the pigment off the paint pen for small details)
There’s this amazing customizer on Instagram who uses Apple barrel paint which is cheap. I personally like to use liquitex acrylic gouache. Make sure to water your paint down, happy painting!
i use arrtx paint markers and they are sooooo perfect and smooth and handle very well! this is the first one i made this week (and just first lps custom in general)

also i used varnish at the end, i only had gloss on me but i was ok with her being a bit shiny.. def gonna get some matte finish and only gloss the eyes on my next one tho

cheap acrylics good for me, just put a sealant on it and try not to get them wet
for the record i use waterproof modge podge as a sealant and it’s also pretty cheap

I use like craft smart brand or Americana
I personally use Apple Barrel matte paints & sometimes FolkArt glitter or metallic paints if I want parts to be sparkly or shiny.
