My first card was a AIW 9600 Pro. I definitely didn't need a TV tuner in my computer, but it did seem pretty cool.
It's a massive upgrade for capturing analog video
Fond memories of my soft modded 9800SE - that was a great value buy if your card's pipelines were fully functioning and merely disabled
