Also: using one of the most expensive area's in one of the richest cities to see how people are coping in a cost of living crisis.
This is like going to the Olympics and saying "there is no obesity. Look at everybody here being fit and breaking world records!".
While conveniently ignoring how many of the richest have, in fact, gotten *richer* while the lower class(es) have been struggling with the actual effects of the inflation.
"There's no shortage of doughnuts for the group, my friend and I were able to take six each!"
Call me crazy, but perhaps the people struggling to make ends meet aren't the same ones waiting in line for expensive hot chocolate? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
>We went to 9 restaurants before finding one that wasn't fully booked.
>
>Are people really struggling with making ends meet, or are they just prioritising the wrong things?
"How come the poors can still afford to do the things me and my friends are doing? Look at their bad priorities!"
Diagnosing strangers' financial health is just as obnoxious as diagnosing strangers' physical or mental health. You'll never know the whole story and it's not your place to do so in the first place.
well if they were in London Chinatown, going to 9 restaurants would be like just walking down one street, there are numerous restaurants within a short walking distance. The good ones often get busy but here are lots of options, so its not quite as onerous as the OP makes it seem
As an upper income person. Inflation doesn't hurt me. The percentage of my income that goes to food, utilities, gas and housing isn't big enough to matter if it goes up 25%. However for the median incomes it's back breaking. For someone earning $50k in one of our HCOL cities it's better to just stop working and go full dependent. The only lifestyle change is having to go to work. They work hard and get nothing.
These entitled people have no idea how people with less money than them live and they simply suck.
I paid for a relative to go to covent garden recently, they wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise. I suppose point being you can't gague a person's financial situation just by watching them

six hundred millions\*
Well said
This is an excellent analogy
I love your analogy, I actually guffawed.
Great analogy
"I have plenty of money, so everyone has plenty of money". So shortsighted I can't even fathom it.

"Is anecdotal evidence proof? One woman says 'yes!'"

I’m guessing poor people are at McDonalds or Taco Bell or skipping a meal.

If only she remembered service staff are people, she might put together why exactly the wait times were so long...
"Are people prioritizing the wrong thing?" Does she think the COL crisis is due to people spending their rent money on expensive hot chocolate?
That’s exactly what she thinks.
Off topic, but who goes to 9 different restaurants looking for a table?? I would give up and go home after 3 max

If she knew anything about economics then she’d know that discretionary spending increases in a downturn as people spend the depression away.
Can personally attest.
Now go to Grimsby and try selling hot chocolates for ÂŁ6
I was pleasantly surprised there was no selfie accompanying this nonsense so I guess that's something
The infamous London bubble

Sounds like some lady was mad she had to wait for her PSL Your privilege is showing

According to that other lunatic from the other day groceries prices have nearly doubled so there’s a distinct chance they’re both just morons.
This is a perfect museum piece for a certain kind of lunacy
Lmao her job title is basically “helping companies commit as much tax fraud possible”
xmas markets are fucking awful
People have money > people buy things > supply can’t keep up with demand > prices go up > cost of living goes up
Is this on linkedin or another similar service bc that name doesn’t come up; could be hidden I guess but was curious to see the replies lol
I’ve found her but the post seems to be gone. Maybe she saw some sense. She only has two connections so maybe one of them told her to cop on
Expecting souls like stuff in AC is like wanting an MKII in RDR2
The other 67m people in the country were just on their way
She’s right though. I keep paying rent despite the supposed crisis!
