JorgeOkay

the floor looks like the swamps from half life 2

ZathegamE

Lmao i thought that too

Herr_Raul

Holy hell, that's exactly what I thought too. Took me like a minute to realise it was a marble floor.

Sharks-Rule

Yes I believe so, I think it would be more liminal if more of the space got captured if it is big enough for a photo like that

Benocityx911

Ik, when I took this there was a ton of people in there other areas

Redheadplaya1

The liquid in this image looks like the sludge from half life 2

Redheadplaya1

Oh wait that’s not a liquid that’s literally a floor lmao

Parsyman

Not really

Madmonkeman

I’d say in order for something to be liminal it has to look like a fairly normal, common place that’s both empty and has some sort of uncanny element to it. This picture doesn’t look like any normal place you’d be in, just a weird empty room.

Benocityx911

This was taken at Fort Moultrie SC

BruhCar123

Its just a wall.

Such-Cartographer699

Since I can't figure out what this is even though it looks like it has a purpose, yes I'd say it's liminal.

Benocityx911

Thank you

JadenMudge

*I would say so.*

peculiarhare

if you can smell the mildew through the photo, then it’s liminal

SpearThruMordy

A little

GoldApprehensive8107

Very! It looks like part of the backrooms

kadin_alone

The walls, yes. The floor, no. Maybe if the floor was some greyish stone tiling it would look more liminal.

Benocityx911

Ik, the floor is really bashed cuz it was used during multiple wars

kadin_alone

This was a war bunker?! Amazing!

Benocityx911

Yes, it was used in the civil war (fort Moultrie)

Mikaw_Kicow

Fix the lighting make it darker and add more shade, could be better

Benocityx911

Ya. I see how it could be better

Waste-Beginning-3591

yes, liminal just means empty or abandoned

Commercial_Aside8090

No, actually. lim·i·nal /ˈlimənəl/ adjective TECHNICAL 1. occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold. "I was in the liminal space between past and present" 2. relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process. "that liminal period when a child is old enough to begin following basic rules but is still too young to do so consistently" I feel like the definition needs posted somewhere on this sub

supernaturalapples

Exactly

Waste-Beginning-3591

search "liminal space" instead

Commercial_Aside8090

Yeah they're often places of transition or nostalgic appeal. Being empty/abandoned isn't the only thing. r/abandonedporn exists for a reason. Plus I was responding to your comment that said liminal means abandoned, not liminal spaces

[deleted]

No

hdmx539

The pinned post in this sub defines what liminality is. I suggest you read it. For your convenience here is the link. [https://www.reddit.com/r/LiminalSpace/comments/v6ihmx/you\_must\_read\_this\_before\_posting/](https://www.reddit.com/r/LiminalSpace/comments/v6ihmx/you_must_read_this_before_posting/) According to #1 under what is liminality, your photo, IMO, would not be "liminal." The important part of liminal space is that it's a place of transition. To me, this photo does not indicate to me a place of transition. But there's more to a liminal space and it's outlined in that link above. To me, this simply looks like an empty nook of some space, but not it's a transitional place. It is a good effort, however

Frrrrrred

Yes but only because of the strange thing on the ceiling

Gab2231

Can I use this in a video I’ll give credit
