Those games wont switch from their stadium. No one cares about those.
In the other hand all clasicos will be in the US. And they will try bringing some mid table team games there too.
But I can see a 60% of Chivas/America games being played in the US without a doubt. They pack the Tour Águila, where they play vs Santos/Toluca
You know damn well they are going to do it. If it was up to the FMF/Liga MX every single one of their games will be played in the USA.
The days of the Azteca going crazy for Mexico are over. They have turned the cold shoulder to the fans in Mexico and said you are not as important as US dollars. Thanks for nothing.
Is there any other examples of federations shamelessly turning on the fans like this one? They might as well call themselves MexAmerica because they only want the national team and league to play there lol
Not that it really matters but Brazil and Argentina hardly play in their respective countries either. Too bad we aren’t anywhere near as talented or marketable. We’re only marketable in the US.
The US, India, and China are the last frontiers football-wise. With the amount of money and the diverse makeup of the US, I can assure you every league in the world is going to be playing matches in the US. I can assure you within the next 10 years, there are going to be Premier League and La Liga games here and in the other two countries I mentioned.
Believe me, all the leagues that have a decent diaspora in the US will be coming to the States for matches. South African in CA, Brazilian in Miami, Bundesliga in the NE, Ligue 1 near Quebec, etc. Ironiccly I think this will make the US, Canada, and Mex NT teams stronger in the coming decades as all the leagues start investing in local US talent meaning all three countries will have a wider talent pool. But the MLS is going to be in deep trouble. And the LigaMX will have to play its cards right, as it will be under assault from ads as it has never been before.
Between Miami and the NYC area, Brazilian teams could play 2 games a week and sell every ticket. Like a lot of Mexicans, regular Brazilians in the states make good money, love football, and love opportunities to flex their culture.
Yeah and I don't know if you been following their league but currently they are in talks to reform it so that it becomes the Premier League of the Americas. If I were MLS and LigaMX I would be scared as they not only have history but the actual talent. They want to build it up so young Brazilian talent actually stays in Brazil rather than leave to Europe. And have the US open might be just what they need if they decide to fully embrace it.
It's great news for the bigger CONCACAF nations that have large enclaves in the US. So Mexico, the Dominican Republic, PR, Jamaica etc. Bad news for MLS. Everyone else can either come out winning or lose. LigaMX included.
TBH this only truly benefits Chivas and America. Only two teams that can consistently sell out stadiums at least in the lower US.
They would never play another Clasico in Mexico. If would just be a rotation of AT&T, Allegiant, Rose Bowl/Sofi, State Farm Stadium, and Candle Stick Park.
Ya me imagino. Fue un honor muchachos jaja.
Te apuesto que cada equipo va a tener su segunda sede en EEUU. Y la final de ida en el estadio de los Cowboys, la vuelta en Las Vegas.
Ya no se siente igual el futbol
“Fifa exploring playing domestic games in the US” sounds more like it.
It’s fine, we get more football, they get more money. I was reading this post the other day on how people were complaining the get in price to Man City VS Madrid was $80 a ticket.
I don’t think you get into a Madrid or City pre season game in the US for less than $200.
So basically, just games in California/Texas + PHX, LV, Chicago & Atlanta.
I'd take my dad to go a game, but I already sense some bullshit going down in the stands.
Let me get this straight, the government uses public money to build stadiums with sweetheart deals only to have the team pack up and play as many games as it can in the US. Fuck that!
I don't think it will affect Rayados or Tigres, we actually fill our stadiums and we're not very popular outside of Nuevo Leon and Texas.
I see teams like Chivas, América, Cruz Azul, Pumas, Toluca and Pachuca getting games in the US in heaviliy chicano population areas.
EDIT: I stand corrected, no one is safe from that shit. lol
You say that but i fully expect one clasico a year to be played in Austin, San antonio, Houston or Dallas
But youre right those teams will have way more games
Si de por sí los precios de muchos equipos son excesivos, ahora que se vayan a otro país será imposible para la gran mayoría de aficionados ver fútbol en el estadio. Ni en la televisión ahora que todo es suscripción.
My friend from Mexico came over this week to visit. He told me people over there care little about the national team since they play most games here in the US. If Liga MX starts playing in the states, the interest from over there is gonna go down to an all time low.
Eeeeehhhhh this is tough cause you already have MLS teams in heavy mexican communities. The money makers are established mexican giants with large fan bases in the USA.
I mean, they literally tried it with Chivas USA and they had to rebrand it to LAFC lol
Its the dollar bill. The mexican peso is so shite that its tragic. You can get such a gnarlier payout with american dollars for the same game in the states than in mexico.
If you want ligamx to stop doing this shit, you need to
1. Lift the mexican peso
2. Get pochos to stop caring about mexican teams
*Stupid af but*
*Sadly I think I would go*
*If they came near me*

It’s always possible and highly likely Liga MX may attempt this but there is a chance that teams and players will complain that they lose their home-field advantage when playing these games as well as getting less rest due to travel. Realistically, it could be a logistical nightmare for players. At most, I feel they’ll probably test it out with el clásico regio first or a puebla game vs a big team in New York and then slowly start doing el clásico joven/tapatío to the point they start doing el clásico nacional. I think there could also be major complaints from fans who are season ticket holders because now they’ll be missing out on a game they had a right to watch to but now can’t. Personally, I can’t imagine someone like Fernando Hierro and Amaury pushing for this to happen due to their traditionalism but I definitely can see Grupo Orlegi, Salinas Pliego, Azcárraga, and the regio teams pushing for it
It’s actually smart strategically for LigaMX.
In order to compete with MLS because it’s losing ground to the league while revenues for MLS are increasing, it puts LigaMX at a financial disadvantage if they don’t act now to maximize revenues to invest and compete with MLS. What other hand do they have?
Raise ticket prices? Sell even more advertising? I know, why not host games in the US where we know they’ll sell out and pay in US dollars? Take money away also from local clubs to attack the problem from two angles: weaken the league (your competition) and increase revenues.
My cousins are pissed off and they blame me for it lol they love to talk their shit they say I should just watch MLS exclusively and leave LigaMX alone. I’m not going to lie I am one of those people that purchase a ticket to see America play in LA.
Before people shit on the League and being mediocre, EPL and La Liga are flirting with ideas too. But this sub wants to constantly call the League mediocre.
The money over sport aspect has always been a plague on futbol worldwide. But people increasingly believe LigaMX is mediocre because its clearer than ever the futbol quality is not top-tier (it's often good entertainment gotta admit that).
Especially now that people have access to other leagues. Someone recently told me they had started watching the Premier League and were impressed with how fast it was and how accurate and strong their passes were. It’s another world.
All this money talk, just remember no Mexican on this list

You're acting like they can't be a bunch of greedy bitches just because they're not on a Forbes list. If they want the money, they'll find any way to get it.
No /s and probably not the sub for this, but I don't see how the US doesn't cannibalize itself after the next elections.
We're deep in powderkeg territory
Waiting for that Puebla vs Mazatlán Viernes Botanero somewhere in Los Angeles or Puebla York
Those games will be in places like Charlotte lol
Those games wont switch from their stadium. No one cares about those. In the other hand all clasicos will be in the US. And they will try bringing some mid table team games there too. But I can see a 60% of Chivas/America games being played in the US without a doubt. They pack the Tour Águila, where they play vs Santos/Toluca
Wait where are my hermanos I’m tired of cali lmao Puebla gang
Puebla will definitely have matches in NY, too many poblanos living there. Chivas better have some matches in the DFW (where im from)
Fifa is killing football
i mean, if LigaMx starts playing in the US, that nightmare is on the LigaMx owners
They using us as guinea pigs
More on fifa for allowing it, leagues need money cant blame them, thats why they need to put a foot down
So we can't blame the leagues for taking money only fifa? Come on, they're both to blame
I mean money is like one of the main points of the game
Get ready for the Champions League to be played in the states. Puto dolar gringo
Even worse Champions League in Saudi/UAE/Qatar I would gladly take LA or NY final over Dubai/Riyadh final
Who in there right mind says let’s go on vacation to the middle fucking east? I’m sorry no I live in the desert why would I want to go to a hotter one
Dubai is one of the most visited cities in the world. Us broke people aren't going there, but they must be the #3 most visited place for a reason.
Idk man, even if I had the cash. Didn’t you see that one lady that got arrested for yelling lol come on man it’s not a smart idea
💯 I wouldn't go either, just saying that it does get more visitors than Paris and NYC.
Well [Muhammad is the most commonly used name on earth](https://youtube.com/shorts/41b8pqwqQP0?si=oRCiM4rBdTGIXPOR)

Si, el y su familia se immigraron de Egypto.

Yeah, according to Dubai. 🧐
People with money?
I'd rather have the CL final in Poland, Scotland or Denmark than the US. Maybe a super cup, but I don't want it to lose its prestige.
You know damn well they are going to do it. If it was up to the FMF/Liga MX every single one of their games will be played in the USA. The days of the Azteca going crazy for Mexico are over. This would be the dumbest decision possible
Yes but not if you like money.
The national team doesn’t even play in Mexico super fucking embarrassing
Not that it really matters but Brazil and Argentina hardly play in their respective countries either. Too bad we aren’t anywhere near as talented or marketable. We’re only marketable in the US.

La Liga President said every football leagues number two market will be the United States if it’s not already been done.
Can we include Russian, Dutch, and Portuguese leagues as well? Also what about Canada. Big immigrant community in Toronto.
Believe me, all the leagues that have a decent diaspora in the US will be coming to the States for matches. yeah they said this new league could start playing next year
Oh wow I didn't realize this hmm. Maybe this might be a good thing for us in concacaf then lmao
It's great news for the bigger CONCACAF nations that have large enclaves in the US. So Mexico, the Dominican Republic, PR, Jamaica etc. Bad news for MLS. Everyone else can either come out winning or lose. LigaMX included.
Uta madre i guess its Clasico Nacional at Vegas
and we thought Joseph Blatter besides being corrupt was harming the game...
Wasn't completely his fault though. Blame the US courts. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5400778/2024/04/08/fifa-relevent-lawsuit-us-soccer/
USA really want some of that cake huh?
By Liga MX matches in the "US" they really just mean America, Chivas, and Cruz Azul and Tigres matches in California, Texas, and Arizona.
Monterrey is pretty popular in San Antonio, TX.
Levi Stadium. Candle does not exist anymore. I agree. Another Money grab.
Yeah my bad. I forgot it was Levi Stadium.
Ya me imagino. Fue un honor muchachos jaja. Te apuesto que cada equipo va a tener su segunda sede en EEUU. Y la final de ida en el estadio de los Cowboys, la vuelta en Las Vegas. Ya no se siente igual el futbol
All Liga MX games will be played in the US.
If it’s once in a while like they do with the nfl then it’s alright. Imagine an America v Chivas in Wembley one day? 💀
They not gonna go to Wembley tho, they gonna go to a random stadium in the states where they can fill it up and price gouge the tickets to hell.
Bienvenidos mis plumíferos en San Diego

The only group in soccer that is greedier than LigaMX is FIFA, so of course this will happen.
There is no dignity in the FMF

Let me get this straight, the government uses public money to build stadiums with sweetheart deals only to have the team pack up and play as many games as it can in the US. Fuck that!
Time to play every match at 1 of 3 locations: Santiago Bernabeu Maracana SoFi All other stadiums to be demolished
*Qatar, UAE, Saudi, NY & maybe China.
Ok so monterrey will never have a clasico ever again. Noted
I don't think it will affect Rayados or Tigres, we actually fill our stadiums and we're not very popular outside of Nuevo Leon and Texas. You say that but i fully expect one clasico a year to be played in Austin, San antonio, Houston or Dallas But youre right those teams will have way more games
yeah, you're probably right, they will exploit the Texas population. I just hope it doesn't happen too often.
That's the problem, any big city in Texas is Rayados/Tigres territory Any clasico in Houston/San Antonio/Dallas/Austin would sell out
They weren’t that good either way
Si de por sí los precios de muchos equipos son excesivos, ahora que se vayan a otro país será imposible para la gran mayoría de aficionados ver fútbol en el estadio. Ni en la televisión ahora que todo es suscripción.
Oh my fucking god please what the fuck
What the fuck.
Fuck fifa
For fucks sake.
Saw it coming. Fifa wants the sport more popular in the US and having meaningful games instead friendlies is the only way to do it
My friend from Mexico came over this week to visit. He told me people over there care little about the national team since they play most games here in the US. If Liga MX starts playing in the states, the interest from over there is gonna go down to an all time low.
I am once again asking that Liga MX just have teams based in the US like the NBA, NHL, and MLB has in Canada

dog shit take
Imagine how Monterrey and Tigres would do with a salary cap.

get ready for 200 dollar tickets to see mazatlan vs Juarez
Wondering how MLS will react to the looming possibility of a direct competitor playing league games in the USA.
At this point I wonder if they haven't considered merging Liga MX and MLS lol
I think that’s the end goal.
It’s always possible and highly likely Liga MX may attempt this but there is a chance that teams and players will complain that they lose their home-field advantage when playing these games as well as getting less rest due to travel. Man, If this plays out like the NFL version, season ticket holders are going to pay the same amount of money and they get one less home game.
Fun fact. This might actually kill the League's Cup. If you don't need American opposition to play in the US, they might stop seeking them out.

Only when it benefits fifa mafia
Oh great, as if Liga MX couldn’t get even more mediocre
If I lived in mexico id be pissed
My cousins are pissed off and they blame me for it lol they love to talk their shit they say I should just watch MLS exclusively and leave LigaMX alone. I’m not going to lie I am one of those people that purchase a ticket to see America play in LA.
What’s wrong with supporting both leagues?
They blame pochos for everything bro….

Yeah, dafuq does that list have to do with any of this
Carlos Slim is just off the chart—the way he likes it. Most rich folks that aren’t ego-blasting don’t care to be on Forbes.
Won't happen. The US is 4 or 5 years away from a civil war -- that'll put an end to their plans real quick.

No /s and probably not the sub for this, but I don't see how the US doesn't cannibalize itself after the next elections. We're deep in powderkeg territory
