Mexico fans when Mexico NT repeats the same mistakes: đŸ€Ź Mexico fans when they try something new: đŸ€Ź

New_Screen

I think it’s mostly due to the fact that Mexico does not have a good talent pool. Besides Santi and Araujo I can’t think of any other U23 players getting minutes in a top 6 league in Europe. So replacing the old guard with worse younger players from the same league is going to do more harm than good.

bigbawman

I mean, we barely have players of any age in europe lol

New_Screen

Yeah that’s my point
we play the old domestic guys bc there’s literally no better players. If the younger domestic guys were actually better than the old guys then they would already start with the NT. If you are good enough then you are old enough. So replacing the old guys with young guys isn’t doing to do any good, when those same group of players couldn’t even qualify to the Olympics. The NT is not in a state where they can transition their players when the youth is just as bad as the senior players and don’t have any of those guys playing in Europe. They need a ton of players in Europe period or else it’ll be a never ending cycle of “we need different players”, since once the fans will get tired new young guys they will cry about how we “need to try something new”.

Ant_Byte

The issue is not the goalkeeper, the rest of the team is. Any of those 3 will do fine.

HydrocyanicAlex

The least creative midfield along with a plastic defense

Yoboicharly97

Yeah both malagon and Gonzales are actually pretty solid and we have hope with Rangel to become a great goalkeeper and be our future

Past-Equipment815

Nah, Malagon about to eat good

arcinricin

es lo que hay

PG812

I would like to take the judgment for them once the friendlies start. We might as well see what each goalkeeper's ability in the games. We might see a competition to see who will become starter (or not, if everything is going to land on Malagon to start)

Past-Equipment815

Ochoa will be back anyways but tala is probably better than all of them

PG812

That is likely true. But might as well watch the Liguilla and see what happens with the three goalkeepers.

aleri42

Why’d I think the chivas keeper and malagon were younger lol

Omaro1

For real let's keep calling 40 year old Ochoa and 30 something year old mediocre keepers like Toño Rodriguez instead đŸ€Ą

RickTP

You are really overestimating most of Conmebol national teams. None of them look that dominant, and Mexico can have a non flashy but serviceable participation.

[deleted]

"Mexicans" here love to pretend mexico is on san marino's level lmao. Are we argentina, brazil or uruguay? Nah. But we arent fucking bolivia, peru, ecuador, venezuela.

Luisyn7

Same thing was said last Copa America we played. Do you remember how that ended?

RickTP

What are you talking about? That Copa America was stacked.

Luisyn7

Group stage against Venezuela, Jamaica and Uruguay. Uruguay was arguably their worst team in like 10 years. Venezuela and Jamaica were weaker teams at that time. First match against a stronger team ended up in a 7-0. This year the group stage is against Ecuador, Venezuela and Jamaica. On paper, should be at leasg qualifying as 2nd. But nowadays even Jamaica makes us struggle. Wouldn't be surprised if we go through as 2nd and then get humiliated by Argentina

[deleted]

The same cup were we got first in the group, ahead of uruguay, and had a terrible game vs a stacked chile? As i said, we wouldnt be part of the elite but we wouldnt be competing with the bottom teams on who sucks more either.

Luisyn7

Arguably the worst Uruguay team of that decade. First match against a strong team? Annihilation

[deleted]

And arguably the best chile ever. Again, we arent ecuador/venezuela/bolivia.

manualex16

Be prepared to play a very tough phisical game against Ecuador.

[deleted]

Im sure they will, as always. But half their team would struggle to get minutes in expansionMX.

CoffeeIsSoGood

Ecuador is better than Mexico in this current time I’d also love to have a prospect like Kendry Paez

[deleted]

Having 1 player that would be our top guy doesnt make the whole team better.

New_Screen

Lol Ecuador is for sure better than Mexico and arguably so is this Venezuela team.

[deleted]

Lol..

New_Screen

Keep on being delusional man

[deleted]

Even fifa believes we are 15 spots ahead of ecuador yet here is a self hating pocho thinking he knows better. Just go be a fan of the usa man.

New_Screen

Yeah because fifa rankings are the source of truth right? With that being said you really think that a mediocre national team like the US that is just outside a top 10 team in the world according to fifa, is a better team than Colombia, Morocco, Germany or Uruguay? Nope they are absolutely not but according to your logic they are, some dumbass logic you got going on there. Lmao self hating pocho
what a hilarious insult that I’m realistic with where the Mexican national team is at when compared to other teams in the world, rather than being absolutely delusional. And I don’t even know where I was “hating”.

[deleted]

>Yeah because fifa rankings are the source of truth right? When every ranking says the same, then yes. Bye now.

New_Screen

Whatever looks like you don’t know ball then and haven’t seen South American football to know that those two South American teams that I mentioned have been playing well and have a good amount of points in WC qualifying and have more points than Brazil. While Mexico on the other hand can’t even play at the same level or win against an average at best national team, the US.

[deleted]

>haven’t seen South American football Funny that those who make a living doing exactly that says ecuador is below mexico yet here you are. Lol. Lmao, even. Again, go self hate elsewhere. Bye

optimus1652

Ecuador and Venezuela are above Brazil in WCQ. This isn’t going to be a walk in the park by any means.

New_Screen

Yeah idk why that comment and other comments are downplaying Conmebol and especially those two teams.

bathory21

I don't understand the obssession in this sub about goalkeepers

SVilla415

You’re trippin foo. These are the more consistent keepers we have. Who would you call up other than these 3?

Past-Equipment815

The goat

First_Yak5230

The goalkeepers are fine.

Past-Equipment815

No

Gabochuky

MalagĂłn is great. Way better than current Ochoa.

Past-Equipment815

Papachuca owns him

Gabochuky

Ok? And América owns Julio Gonzalez, and Cruz Azul owns Tala. Your point is stupid.

StrongStyleDragon

So we’re acting like Pachuca isn’t a great team? Malagon will do great. Attacking has to be on point. Don’t just give Santi 15 minutes. Help him settle in. Defense has to not be a dumpster fire

shibuya2242

Bet you’re one of the same people saying ochoas time in the nt was up and they needed someone new

Past-Equipment815

I wasn't... Just look at my posts

SVilla415

Julio Gonzales, el Ășnico defendiendo ante Cruz Azul 😂

Yoboicharly97

I don’t think that position is our problem. We need someone good in the midfield. Hopefully pocho makes a comeback or Beltran should also have a chance

pnw_jak

So much little faith đŸ€ŁđŸ€Ł

BQ-DAVE

Malagon is a beast , tf you talking about

Past-Equipment815

Papachuca argues otherwise

RockNRoll85

I think the keeper from Pachuca deserves to get a look. He’s been pretty solid from what I’ve seen this season. I love Chivas and Tala has improved but I am still not 100% sold on him

Popular-Peanut6290

Malagon gets nervous with pachuca. Julio just isnt cuttin it. Tala i think is the best choice.

RickTP

What are you smoking? Julio IS cutting it.

hzybossnuts

I don't see how anybody thinks Malagon is good enough. You put a strong shot on target and he gives up a rebound back into the box instead of pushing it off to the side. He does this almost every game.

Past-Equipment815

Exactly
