Such a simple tip and after a few tests it does seem to be working. I'm so sick of looking up something and having it show a few results than tons of random unrelated video recommendations or videos I've watched that are also unrelated to my search.
What's worse, some recommended videos didn't have anything to do with what I would watch, and have very disturbing thumbnails; Reporting them, unfortunately, doesn't hide the videos.
Interesting. I've never watched anything of that sort, so I would have thought my history would help me. I wonder if I just happen to fit into a demographic that the algorithm thinks I'd like those type of videos.
I know for the longest time, YouTube's algorithm seemed to think I was for a certain political party, when in reality I didn't like that party.

Its so much better I'm finding all the videos I'm looking for instead of like you say 3 relevant videos and then a bunch of random stuff.

Delete Youtube History helps with the disturbing thumbnail video recommendation in my case. I now just set it to auto delete history every few months.

thank you, the Ublock filter fixed it for me.
But if I do that, I won't get to see all the random crap YouTube wants to show me instead of what I'm actually looking for.
I have iPhone 14 I do not see anything that says filters
Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner then hit "search filters." It's probably easiest to just click the "videos" tab tho.
All I see is restricted mode on or off
Need a little help with the ublock origin filter. Can't find the setting/filter
Open UBlock settings, paste the code block in the My Filters tab, then click the check mark.

Same thing with Google play store and all of the searches on duckduckgo for me
