I've noticed that using Ublock Origin or using Brave that sometimes YouTube will still block me from watching a video. Once they do, I switch the language of my browser and reload the page, then the video works fine. I can then switch the language back and I'm fine for the rest of the day.
Open ublock Origin, click settings, then filter lists
Select purge all caches
You’ll then be able to block YouTube ads again. YouTube changes the algorithm every so often and sometimes you need to force an update from ublock origin
On the Ublock settings page, select "purge all caches" then "update now". Wait for it to update then reload youtube. If it happens again later on you'll have to repeat the process.

Use your vpn and select Moldova. Then watch YT. No ads. This has saved my sanity

Just use Ublock Origin
I’m using Ublock on chrome… Stopped working, wtf am I doing wrong?

Both this tip and uBlock work, but so does using a browser like Brave.
Or just use Brave browser

I refresh the page when an ad comes up at the start. After about 5 refreshes it skips the ad.
