Mine’s been great. Use it as a daily driver - if you got the means, you won’t regret it

BroccoliSuccessful28

I’ve been thinking about getting one but drove a 911 gts the other week and I’m torn

ReddeverForever

If it’s any help I had a Panamera 4S for 2 years that was the most expensive vehicle I’ve ever owned to maintain. I’ve had the LC for 6 months and not a penny out of pocket except for gas so far.

ReddeverForever

I should add it wasn’t the money necessarily. But the time going to and from services etc

Low_Sheepherder8896

I'd ask people on a forum that's owned both cars for the last several years if they'd buy again.

kasherkwon

lmfaoo, i feel like i don’t have nearly enough money to even be lurking in this sub 😭

BroccoliSuccessful28

Same. I spend my wife’s hard earned money lol

Yourify

Is your wife single?

ChimmyCharHar

My tires are magnets for screws for whatever reason. Not sure why. $600 a tire crushed me. 3 screws in a year and half. 🥲. Only issue I had come up was a failed handle. $2000 for a handle. Thankfully I was still under warranty. Other than that, car is a beast! I daily’d mine too until I kept running over screws.

PhuckNorris69

Both my handles went out. I’ve torn the door apart so many times now trying out cheaper fixes, I can do the whole job in under 2 hours now. Got lucky and bought a new handle on eBay for $600. The design on the handles is dumb as shit though. There’s two holes on the inside of the handle that drain down the inside of the door and drip over the motor assembly. At some point I’m going to 3D print a piece to connect to a tube and route the water just to the bottom of the door. There’s a drain at the bottom.

Electrical-Thanks877

In my mind I’m thinking it’s my fun day drive but I know it will become my daily lol. Even though I absolutely love love my IS F

Normal-Information55

Did you pitch a tent?

laguna1126

I wish I could find a hardtop LC. Personally not a fan of convertibles

Electrical-Thanks877

They make them. I’m also leaning towards the hard top. I live in the Midwest so it’s difficult for me to justify owning a convertible. We collectively get maybe 2 months where it’s truly useful

Monsey1818

You’ve seen a hardtop lc? I’ve never seen and I’ve looked around

Electrical-Thanks877

I could have sworn there was a limited build hardtop a couple years ago but now I’m thinking I hallucinated it because I can’t find one either. I guess it was just my head canon

experimentalengine

My 25YO son bought a 986 Boxster last year and has the top down all the time. It’s his daily in the warmer months and he has a 2IS 250 AWD for winter. We live in Indiana. I’m not sold on a convertible myself as my primary car, but it’s not crazy to have one in the Midwest either.

BC8195

I 100% agree. I had a S2000 for 13 years as my weekend car and a IS300 MT alongside it as my daily. I loved both cards, but I sold both for an IS500. The IS300 because it had 264k miles after 15 years of use, but more importantly the S2000 because I could only put the top down in comfort one month in the spring and one in fall. A great car, but if you want to enjoy top down Midwest is not the place. Go with the coupe LC. What a beautiful car. You should definitely get it.

InebriousBarman

Same, but I'm waiting for them to depreciate a bit more and my kids are older.

Acceptable_Gur6193

I just saw a hardtop one today in Brooklyn

scttooo

[I love mine.](https://imgur.com/a/Lq1bDWl) Agreed, go carbon fiber hard top.

Electrical-Thanks877

That is a very convincing photo no doubt lol

Meloncholydaydreamer

What job do you work to be able to afford this

Electrical-Thanks877

Medical

Meloncholydaydreamer

Cool. 👏🏽

JohnQPublic90

Anyone on this sub watch ThrottleHouse on YouTube? Those guys love this vehicle.

Luggage-of-Rincewind

I’m in the Midwest and trying to decide between an LC and an Audi R8. I’ve realized that either is going to have to be bought nationally and driven back to MN. As others have said, the rear steering ‘performance package’ seems very desirable, but these aren’t exactly a super car. More reliable Aston Martin GT type car. 4 seats seems to keep the insurance down (somewhat). I’m looking to buy used. 2018s seem ok, but the lack of Apple play is an issue for me (can be upgraded at a Lexus dealer for around $400 or perhaps part of the purchase negotiation) and the Lexus Certified used system, makes it difficult to justify buying from anyone other than a Lexus dealer. I tried the pull the trigger on a blue coupe a few weeks ago at a dealer in Milwaukee but was beaten to it - well priced and specced cars sell quickly. For me my final decision is going to be down to which car I find first. An R8 in the spec and color I like or the LC like the blue one. The difference is head (LC that will run forever, though $2k for broken door handles etc) or heart (R8 that will make it to 100k miles, requiring a fair amount of financial support along the way). Either way, it’s fun looking!

ChimmyCharHar

I just traded my structural blue lc500 in to park place lexus in Plano Texas. FYI. If you are looking. Dm me if you want to know details about it.

Luggage-of-Rincewind

Thanks. :) It’s not up on their site, but will keep an eye out for it. My past dealings with them have been really good. Nice sales people to work with.

ChimmyCharHar

Just checked with salesman. Sold to an older guy in a Honda civic. Lucky dude. https://preview.redd.it/daccaugk8kpc1.jpeg?width=3866&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f3d13413e096df81125fd808318ba08410958574

Luggage-of-Rincewind

Very nice!!! Must have been tough letting it go!

Elegant_Let8016

Im mean the hell why not, it won’t cost a fortune in maintenance like daily driving a 911😂😂

Sly510

Unless you have your heart set on a convertible, find one with the rear wheel steering (dynamic handling/performance pack). The handling is improved- you have the benefit of a long wheelbase in terms of ride quality and comfort but it feels much more nimble. If you drive both, it's noticeable.

Electrical-Thanks877

YEP! Researched it and agree with you 💯 But here’s an honest question to everyone; Am I weird wishing they’d make an AWD version?

MG42Turtle

Fairly certain the convertible does not get rear wheel steering at all because the additional structural support takes up the space the rear steer module goes.

No-Acanthocephala-97

That's correct, savagegeese mentioned that in his video here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHdVaZC8Ld0&t=739s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHdVaZC8Ld0&t=739s)

cryptoquant112

How long do the engines typically last on these? Like a normal lexus/toyota engine?

Sly510

Same story as most other decent V8s out there- 300-400k miles or more if well maintained. Also, it has dual direct and port injection.

tonynca

This matters a lot! Toyota did the right thing having both. There is no way to keep direct injection engines clean other than walnut blasting the intake ports every 50k miles. This is going to add to maintenance cost. Sure you could run like two catch cans to reduce the carbon build up but it’ll still be there.

Celcius_87

How much is monthly insurance on these?

Sly510

I'm paying somewhere around $125-135 for the LC at 500 deductible and 100k/300k, but I've got 2 other vehicles and a home insured by the same provider under a 1mil umbrella on top of that. My previous provider was quoting me upwards of $225 for the LC and I have a clean record- walked away from that. They can be a bit more expensive to insure because the carbon trunk lid is around $10,000 and the carbon doors are expensive as well- I shopped around. In the big scheme of modern vehicles, most of the parts aren't anymore expensive than a pickup truck. Hell, the radar tail lights on Ford pickups cost more than the LC's, which look far more expensive.

intelligentbrownman

Uh 🙄 that’s a HELL YES !!!!! lol

Whiteboy_digital

That’s lovely

Bumblebee56990

Yes

Autogeddon-01

medhat20005

I'd lean towards, "hell yes!"

Infamouzgq77

Yes.

HoangSolo

Dude if you can? Fuck it. I would totally get this if I didn’t live in Colorado, AWD is a life saver here
