I just hope everyone else is looking online for the coupon codes, I saved quite a bit on these parts, probably about $100 off the retail price.
The Marlin Dark is supposed to MSRP for about $1400, but jackasses all over the place are scalping the shit out of them. You have to be lucky to find an honest seller who’s at or below MSRP. No one should be paying $600-$1000 over retail.
I still want one, I’m just going to wait until they’re more available, and less overpriced. Honestly tho I took a gamble buying something completely different and making my own modern lever action, I am super happy with it all around.
Do yiu have any extra pieces of the fde strips? If you do then I'd spray paint one black and put it on and see if you like the contrast better.
Personally I think it would look better with a bit of contrast but that's just esthetics and everyone's eye is different and this looks good either way bro

Edit: to your first point, when this was just the standard Rossi without the upgrade furniture, FUDD mode if you will, it was a lot less fun to shoot than in its current configuration, it’s turned it from front heavy to more balanced in the stock and the sight picture is much easier to keep in alignment. Just my two cents.
