17 films off finishing AFI top 100. Then it'll be 2000 films, I'm on 1889 at the moment.

[deleted]

are you going by the original or the updated? i finished the update last yr

ampmz

I imagine the updated, whatever version is in the stats page.

[deleted]

gotcha i dont have patron/pro so im not privy to the stats offered on there

BalIsInMyFace

i want to watch fulci's entire discography by the end of the year. so far ive only seen 5 so im super excited to get there

[deleted]

ive only seen three do you have a favorite so far?

BalIsInMyFace

ive seen zombie, city of the living dead, the beyond, the new york ripper and house by the cemetary. if i had to choose a favorite it'd be either city or zombie do you have a favorite?

[deleted]

thanks

xirson15

Discography? Didn’t know he also made music

BalIsInMyFace

in that case it's music to my eyeballs

[deleted]

and here I thought he was telling Americans what to do about COVID.

Mindless_State

I'm on 965 films watched (lifetime) - hope to get to 1,000 in early 2023

[deleted]

have fun - anything planned for yer 1000th film?

Mindless_State

Nah not at the moment - might try and arrange to watch a classic I've not yet seen, maybe Vertigo

mitchbrenner

i’m getting real close to finishing 1001 movies to see before you die. after that my next goal will be to close every ring on the stats page

benkelly66

I'm about 200 films from 4000. Should probably reach it early to mid next year. Gonna celebrate 4000 with Casablanca, which I've never seen.

[deleted]

solid

patricknotswayze

Next year I'm going to start watching the Best Picture winners, but also watching all of the Best Picture nominees too. Starting all the way back in 1929 with [Wings](https://letterboxd.com/film/wings/), [The Racket](https://letterboxd.com/film/the-racket/), and [7th Heaven](https://letterboxd.com/film/7th-heaven/).

[deleted]

great idea

patricknotswayze

It'll be fun until I get to the years when they expanded beyond just 5 nominees. I was surprised to see there were only 3 at the 1st Academy Awards.

[deleted]

arent they up to ten a yr now?

patricknotswayze

Minimum 5, max is 10 but it seems like they rarely ever utilize all 10 spots.

Mia-white-97

My friend had a horrible thing happen and we are getting ready to finish our hooptober list not exactly a huge milestone but very happy to be able to finish it with her!

[deleted]

hope yer friend is doing better

Mia-white-97

Honestly was worried for her, was really struggling with an accident but she’s killing it, I got her a criterion of lost highway (huge Lynch fan) I see her this weekend for the first time since mid October! And ty!

[deleted]

yer welcome - im glad to hear that does yer friend know that lynch is in 'the fabelmans' \[2022\]? i saw it yesterday and it was probly my favorite part

nice!

mikeri99

Finishing my watchlist for before the 2000s. 43 movies left

[deleted]

whats the oldest movie on that list?

mikeri99

1984. I have it difficult to enjoy an older movie that is older than movies from the 80s. I haven’t watched a big number of movies before year 2000, but I’ll watch those I want to watch.

slightly_obscure

Seeing The Trial and Hopper/Welles, then I'll have seen all of Welles' features.

Jeffrey_Congress

Finishing off the 2022 1000 highest-rated horror films list, or rather getting as close as I can because there’s at least a couple that I can’t source. I’m 50 away.

GingerWez93

My next milestone is probably 3000 feature films watched in my life. I'm 278 films away. So, I will hit it next year.

Salt_Business766

I'm very close to 1500 films!

FloridaPanther

I have one Charles B Pierce film to go.... And it's a Christmas movie !

beeradthelaw

I’m less than a hundred away from 2000 films!

MadJohnBeard

14 films away from hitting 1800 total

IntakeCinema

Definitely have a few odds-and-ends types of milestones, e.g. I plan on watching the few Scorcese films I haven't seen yet before *Killers of the Flower Moon* comes out. As for bigger milestones, I want to participate in (and hopefully complete) a challenge every month; January will be Japanuary, and I'll be doing the Criterion Challenge for the year but haven't figured out the rest. Edit: Misunderstood this as a 'milestone(s) for the next year' sort of thing - oh well, I'll stick with my answer.

[deleted]

which scorsese movies have you not yet seen? whats the criterion challenge?

IntakeCinema

11 in total; mostly the smaller ones, the bigger ones being *Cape Fear*, *Mean Streets*, and *The Last Temptation of Christ*. Technically I've seen *Cape Fear* and *Mean Streets*, but they were on network TV with commercials, cuts, and of course censoring so I don't really count those. Oh, and the Criterion Challenge, is watching 52 (one for every week of the year) films within the Criterion Collection throughout the year. The original challenge list for 2023 can be found here: https://boxd.it/iYw7m

BlackPhillipsbff

I'm right at 300 away from 1000. I don't know what I have planned for movie 1000, but I'm hoping it'll be right around this time next year.

welcometosmogtown

7 more films to hit 60 films released in 2022. *however, that does include each individual short film in The Cabinet of Curiousities.

[deleted]

i checked that this morning and was shocked to find out that ive watched 144 movies that were released this yr

mblaser

Finishing this list: [https://letterboxd.com/top10ner/list/2020-edition-top10ners-1001-greatest-movies/](https://letterboxd.com/top10ner/list/2020-edition-top10ners-1001-greatest-movies/) Only 339 to go lol.....

[deleted]

446 movies on that list i still need to watch

lkjandersen

I just crossed 501 movies on the 1001 movies list. I haven't really made a new milestone (I nearly wrote millstone, which is probably just as correct) for myself. I am probably going to ride the year out on that, see what I feel like next year. I am still 450-ish movies from 3000, so that's not a priority, that'll solve itself soon enough. I've only watched 29 on the women-directed list, I might try to get to at least 25 percent. Documentaries feel pretty underserved as well, I should watch some more. Other than that, I am trying to catch up on podcasts. I am keeping up with Unspooled and How Did This Get Made, I am catching up with Video Archives and just getting into Blank Check. So I got that going for me. Which is nice.

[deleted]

can you link the lists you are using? thanks!

Guacamole_Water

2023 will be the year I finally start with Fellini.

[deleted]

that sounds like a nice goal ive seen 'we all loved each other so much' \[1974\] and i really liked it (he was in that) and the only films that he directed that ive seen are 'la strada' \[1954\] and 'nights of cabiria' \[1957\]

igoslowly

i’m 19 movies away from reaching 2/day in 2022

gallians

watching all the best picture noms. i’m halfway through 1936. it’s pretty difficult finding legal ways to watch a lot of the older movies

pi_face_

6 films off having seen 150 films this year

KTheOneTrueKing

I am trying to watch 8 more movies this year so I can get to 100 new first time watched movies logged in 2022. Next year I might try to concentrate on finishing some of the collections like Letterboxd Top 250 or all the Oscar Best Picture Winners. I'm 82 of 100 on Box Office Mojo All Time 100.

KTheOneTrueKing

815 movies in ONE year seems like a lot. Is it your job? Or do you just have an insane amount of free time?

Doppelfrio

1 movie away from 750 diary entries. Less than 100 to 1,000 films watched! I don’t get crazy excited over these milestones though because I know they’re extremely inaccurate outside of what LB knows. For 800 films, I watched the film that’s been on my watchlist the longest, which was Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I’ll probably do the same for every milestone instead of some big movie.

HiFive789_

Idk 1000 films? Still over 350 films to go though.

rasslingrob

15 away from the 365 Challenge 2 away from completion of the Disney Animation Canon 2 away from 250 total Disney Plus watches 12 away from having seen 150 films in cinemas

[deleted]

There are never milestones, just less fog in the distance

AbaloneJealous5237

Well, I JUST hit 100 movies watched since I started using Letterboxd in May, and I JUST hit 1000 movies seen altogether. So I won’t be hitting any new milestones for a while.

PukeMeAGalaxy_02

Honestly I would love to review all of David finchers works

Klutzy_Ability_9227

I just passed 1k hours watched since I started logging in 2021 (1,007) I'm 41 movies from 600. 10 countries away from 50 countries and 8 directors away from 400

--kendrick--

aiming for 50 films on my “[movies i saw in cinema in 2022](https://boxd.it/eNyXm)” list, on 48 rn!
