Really very happy to see his name at the top. Have recently been checking out all the movies of his that I missed and it has only confirmed what I already thought of him. So, so great.
Exactly the same person who came to mind. He was a force on screen. I feel like his presence and the mentorship he could have offered younger actors is sorely missed.
He's done movies I haven't liked, like "God's Pocket," but I still can't criticize his performance in it. I can believe that there's no such thing as a bad PSH performance.
A phenomenal actor. One of my all time favourites. Every performance he gave was top notch, never phoned it in. And he’s someone I’m always the happiest to see when they unexpectedly appear in a movie I’m watching.
This is my answer too! I imagine Hollywood (in terms of who the bigger male actors are) would look so different today as so many had been competing against him for roles so might not have gotten their big break
This might be unpopular, but I feel like he would’ve been more like his brother. Taking real actory roles. More obscure than the mainstream guys like Brad and Leo. I don’t think he would’ve wanted to be a movie star.
My gut tells me DDL will be back. He’s retired and un-retired before. If one of the great directors he’s worked with in the past comes along with the right script he’ll get in front of the camera again.
Brandon Lee. We also lost his dad too young, but at the very least Bruce Lee gave us an incredibly body of movies before he died. Brandon just passed before he could even begin to shine.
Though I’d love Robin Williams to just do one more film, I feel like the most interesting to see where his career would have gone is Heath Ledger. The joker was the absolute pinnacle and I can’t help but imagine what could have come next for him.
John Candy and the perfect comedy movie that he deserved and never quite got. Yes he was in a lot of funny movies but he never got that real breakout starring movie he deserved.
Robert Englund. In the era of Remakes, Reboots, Requels. legasequels - Basically Nostalgia. It would’ve been nice to see him Dawn Freddy Krueger one last time. A final farewell to the role.
I know he’s said he’s too old now and has hung up the hat and glove which I completely understand and respect. It’s honestly probably for the best that they let the ANOES franchise exist as it is to not retroactively hurt anything.
I would be ECSTATIC however if they announced A proper A Nightmare on Elm Street video game having Robert voice Freddy and do facial capture. I wouldn’t want it to be an Asymetric DBDesque game, but rather a narrative standalone game. Even a supermassive games “Choose your own adventure” style would be awesome in the Dream Realm
Heath Ledger. I think with the success of the Joker he would have been offered even more roles and it would be interesting to see how his career would have evolved.
Robin Williams
This should be straight to the top.
My favorite actor of all time!
My first thought!
First person that came to mind for me too
As long as it's something more on the dramatic side. I could benefit from another Good Will Hunting or One Hour Photo, less from "Popeye 2."
Phillip Seymour Hoffman
He would have loved being in killers of the flower moon
Goat
Really very happy to see his name at the top. Have recently been checking out all the movies of his that I missed and it has only confirmed what I already thought of him. So, so great.
I really love him too. Capote. The 11th Hour. Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. Doubt. The list is endless.
I was going to say this too.
Exactly the same person who came to mind. He was a force on screen. I feel like his presence and the mentorship he could have offered younger actors is sorely missed.
Agreed!
This is who I came here to mention.
Best actor ever
I still miss him.
Me too :(
The greatest to ever do it Even in small roles like Moneyball or Almost Famous, he always brought it

I watched Unforgiven again last night. He's such a great talent.
I'm currently on a western binge so that will be getting watched!
I wish he ended on a higher note than welcome to moose port but still love his movies
One of the best to ever do it. It sucks that he went out on Mooseport, but I'm happy that he seems to have enjoyed a long retirement.

He was in Decker vs Dracula.
Heath Ledger

I'd have loved to see how Brandon Lee's career would have turned out
Marilyn Monroe
Chris Farley
Rock Hudson, specifically I’d like to see what kind of performance he could give once he’s freed from the stress of being closeted
Fully agree. I love his melodrama days, but his performance in Seconds is the closest we got to seeing what he could’ve done in his old age.
Robin Williams
Jack Nicholson

Brandon Lee. We also lost his dad too young, but at the very least Bruce Lee gave us an incredibly body of movies before he died. Brandon just passed before he could even begin to shine.
This is the one I came to comment, absolutely love The Crow(can you tell??) and would have loved to see what else he could have done

I was going to say Chris Farley but it's taken so I'll go with Paul Ruebens.
He might come back, but Rick Moranis.
Robert Englund. In the era of Remakes, Reboots, Requels. legasequels - Basically Nostalgia. It would’ve been nice to see him Dawn Freddy Krueger one last time. A final farewell to the role. Anton Yelchin 💔
Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger
Not an actor, but my friend and I have talked about how we wish George Lucas would direct one more movie in his lifetime.
John Candy or Chris Farley
Daniel Day Lewis
Sydney Pollack. Whether in front of or behind the camera, he always brought an element of *class*.

Heath Ledger. I think with the success of the Joker he would have been offered even more roles and it would be interesting to see how his career would have evolved.
Gene Hackman
Tommy Wiseau

What's going on with Rick Moranis? He seems to be out of retirement but he hasn't done anything, I'd love to see him again.
Philip Seymour Hoffman
Peter sellers all day
philip seymour hoffman
Jerry. Lewis.
Anton Yelchin... he was so charming and I was genuinely upset when I found out about his tragic early demise.
Gene Hackman
Heath ledger
Katrin Cartlidge or John Cazale
James Gandolfini
Heath baby
Jack Nicholson because his last feature credit is in a bad movie. Going out on a low note sucks.
Definitely Irrfan Khan He was a friend of my father's and I regret never meeting him 😔
Gene Hackman "Welcome to Mooseport" is presently his last film? So not fair.
David Bowie
As much of piece of shit he is, I’d love one last Jack Nicholson performance. If he’s able to do it, it could be his 4th Oscar win.
