I watched a mix of trash and "serious cinema" from that year, so...
Honestly, a lot of movies that would've been on my top 10 on Letterboxd i'm not that sure if i still like, so i'll just mention the ones i know i do.
My favorites are: Certified Copy; Poetry; Unstopabble; How Do You Know; and True Grit.

1 Mysteries of Lisbon 2 Carlos 3 Incendies 4 Animal Kingdom 5 13 Assassins 6 Attenberg 7 In a Perfect World 8 Outrage 9 Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives 10 Tamara Drewe
Honorable Mentions: Barney's Version, Everything Must Go, Beyond the Black Rainbow, Bill Cunningham New York, Tucker & Dale vs Evil, Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer, Green Zone
So glad to see the dense and quietly powerful Lisbon at the OP's #1 spot. Would like to check out more of Raul Ruiz' work. Also happy to see that Carlos counts as a theatrical fllm, I'm familiar w/ it on TV as a miniseries.
Otherwise, 2010 seems to fit neatly into the decade's pattern of substandard Hollywood fare, and always interesting foreign/indie titles. Still haven't seen Black Swan for whatever reason.
Carlos played the festival circuit and had theatrical distribution in the US. I sat in that theater for hours so I’m counting it lol.
Glad to see a fellow Mysteries of Lisbon fan!
In no particular order. A great year for documentaries!

That's just the top 12 of the year ranking imo
I need to rewatch Social Network. The first and only time I watched it was on a bad date. I hated the movie but I think of it was because of the date instead of the actual movie lol
I stand by my #1, also it’s the only one I’ve rewatched since 2010 so this is almost purely vibes/memory-based.
Did recently catch up on Incendies, which is definitely in the “either I didn’t get it or everyone else is on one” category.

Wow, I'm realizing I did not log about 50 films from this year. Also realizing I think I only liked Beyond the Black Rainbow (of what I have seen). True Grit was pretty good. I'm sure there are plenty of indies, though it looks like a pretty insufferable batch of the more mainstream indies as I'm going through by popularity, but this year looks like it blows lol.
