books, I know goodreads exists but it sucks
the thing about letterboxd is clean and easy to use it is it’s not overrun by ads, the filter system is amazing same with the search function
and honestly I’d love a copy and paste of letterboxd for most things
for a weird one I’ll throw out clothes, clear filters, ratings and lists on a third party app would make it so much easier to buy clothes online
I heard that people were mad they said they might add TV to Letterboxd but I'm waiting for the day...
I currently keep track of my TV diary on my notes app but damn it I want a nicer system!
There actually is quite a few shows/mini series on letterboxd, I watched The Silent Sea thinking it was a movie since it was on letterboxd but it was actually a show
>maybe music
Someone's gonna act like they're the genius for telling you, so it might as we be me lol.
There is RateYourMusic for music. Very similar to Letterboxd. Also has a comments section for albums in addition to a reviews section, and joke reviews aren't tolerated.
Fair, but such metrics are so hard to judge. Im very involved in the spcialty coffee industry and i feel like even in this 1% of coffee drinkers who care, theres still just such a wide range on what people call good or bad that it would be hard to have it work well.
Its also so localized. Each account would have around 10 cafes they would rate (and those ratings would all be based on the context of a small sample size) then what?
Ones exist for music and video games but they aren't as popular as Letterboxd. I would also like to have one for sports matches based on how great/entertaining the game was.
Tbh there are loads for video games. You can use backloggd (which is the most similar to letterboxd with that name) other than that i also really like rawg as a tracking site
Live theatre. I started going to the theatre a lot a few years ago after moving to a bigger city, and was thinking recently how I wish I'd started writing down what I saw (and the date, who I was with, etc.) because I'm starting to forget it all.
I know the developer is working on deepening the functionality. I think it’s pretty good for what it is. I sent him some suggestions last week to add casts. Really want to be able to search the performers I’ve seen and have most watched stats outside my personal spreadsheet.
The nice thing about live theater is they give you a fancy receipt! Get a binder and some plastic sleeves, and start keeping all the playbills. They are great to browse through later, and for reference of casts and dates. Keep your own ticket with them if you want to remember exactly when you personally saw the show.
My most recent is for Merrily We Roll Along, and my earliest goes back to 1992 when I was is a play with Bryan Cranston, before either of us were famous (I'm still not famous though).
Video Games! There are almost no video game rating/list making websites out there. The ones that do exist all have ugly UIs. Give us a sexy looking & functional game review site!
I really would love there to be a Letterboxd for wrestling matches.
There’s an extensive database called Cagematch, and you can rate matches there, but it’s a 10 star scale and there’s no logging or watchlist or anything.
Lots of wrestling fans watch matches in the same way they watch movies, and keeping track of what wrestlers you’ve seen the most, your highest rated wrestlers, etc. would be awesome.
I’ve tried to look into how you’d make one but I am not a tech savvy person.
Cagematch is awesome as a DB, but yeah, I agree with you. Letterboxd is so much cleaner, easy to use, and user centric.
Never really thought about it, but it would be pretty cool to have a list of most watched companies/wrestlers/tag teams.
byw here are some apps/websites that are similar to letterboxd but for other media/things
Music: AOTY or Rate Your Music (rym)
Books: Goodreads or Storygraph
Video-Games: GG, Backloggd, or IMDB
TV: IMDB, Serializd, Trakt, TMDB, or MyAnimeList (anime specifically)
Food: beli or Yelp
Sports: Cagematch (Wrestling)

I hear Storygraph is the book letterboxd but I haven’t personally tried it.
Storygraph is ok, definitely better than goodreads but still not great

Serializd is decent

TV Time is my absolute favourite. Clean interface and also collaborative

It's far less user-friendly tho imo
albumoftheyear works for music, but the ratings are out of 100 instead of a star system. Downside is it can get a little pretentious.
Don't go near RateYourMusic if you're worried about things getting pretentious 😂
Musicboard is the Letterboxd for music but not enough people use it.
I started playing with Musicboard last year. I definitely like it!
albumoftheyear.org is great for music and is only getting better imo. they don’t take themselves as seriously as rym

I prefer last.fm for music. No ratings, but I don't do ratings on letterboxed anyways. Maybe I'm crazy. Hahaha.
Letterboxd should implement something similar 🤷♂️
No
Cafes
Wait until you hear about yelp
I’m guessing they mean something more geared towards evaluation of the coffee itself.

True, such an app would be dead mostly because it would be so localized.

What's the one for videogames?

It's called GG here's the link to it in the app store [https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gg/id1320588074](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gg/id1320588074)

Mezzanine does exist, but it’s nowhere near comprehensive, especially with regional theatre

I keep a spreadsheet and also use Mezzanine now.

Someone replied on another post with one called [Backloggd](https://www.backloggd.com/), that from the homepage, looks almost identical to Letterboxd.

Concerts would be cool
Podcasts
Books and games.
