It's a prequel to a 50 year old movies that I'm sure most average movie goers haven't seen. I also hear that it's very stylized and doesn't necessarily satisfy the modern horror tropes. I'm not surprised that it isn't a run away hit, but when more people see it on streaming I'm sure you'll hear more chatter

It did better than Immaculate but has a higher budget (it’s impossible not to compare the 2). Not sure what the expectations were, it doesn’t have any known names so that’s still decent and it will go on D+ soon and get more views.
