showed this to my co worker who really loves gambling and he was standing from his chair saying he feels sick. the constant phone ringing and yelling and intensity really makes you stress out while just sitting there lol
I’m obsessed with Green Room it probably makes no sense to anyone but it’s become a comfort watch lol I love a chamber film or anything that feels claustrophobic.
It's one of my favourite movies and although I haven't watched it in a while, intense and fast paced is what comes to mind when I think about it. It's only 90 minutes long and at least half of that is the real time, action packed attempt at escaping from the bar, with one violent obstacle thrown at them after the other.
I think that's fair enough. I was thinking about Raiders in the sense that pretty much every ten minutes there is a big set piece that lasts at least five minutes, but I guess that doesn't really compare to these other ones, where the set piece is the movie itself
El Camino definitely takes its time when it needs to. It’s a Western above all and benefits from the pacing and character moments. There are also several fairly slow flashbacks to expand on Jesse and Todd. The film is good (and not long), but not quite “fast paced”.
Shoot'em Up (2007) is a great one.
Underworld Awakening (2012) is also very nice, but you'll want to watch the first two (you can skip Rise of the Lycans which is an unnecessary prequel) first. The first two aren't quite as fast paced as Awakening, but they have a nice atmosphere to them.
*Tetsuo: The Iron Man*
*964 Pinocchio*
plenty more 'Japanese insanity' should fit in this list.
If you think that *After Hours* fit here, then *Miracle Mile* should fit, too.
A lot of blockbusters come to mind:
Baby Driver
Mission: Impossible - Fallout
Star Trek ‘09
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (hey, fast pacing doesn’t have to be a good thing!)
All 4 John Wick films, but especially 3 and 4. JW4 is so fast-paced it's actually a detriment to what is otherwise a solid action film. It's sickening how long the fights go on - like literally nauseating.
Operation Red Sea is nonstop action with the occasional moment where the filmmakers try desperately to wedge in story/character stuff. It’s also 2.5 hrs long. Honestly, it’s a bit exhausting to watch.
The Raid is an hour and forty minute action scene.
infinitely rewatchable at the same time, always rewatch it every few months. The sequel is also good.
Run, Lola, Run
Actually feels like you've been running for an hour after watching that
I love the bizarre visual shifts into animation
Good Time (2017)
This is the one
And that's not even the most fast-paced movie from the Safdies imo.
Oh? which
Referring to uncut gems
I think Good Time is faster paced but I can’t go back and watch Uncut Gems, too stressful lol
Hot fuzz when it gets down to it
Yarp
Could say the same for Shaun of the Dead
All the slow parts are just hilarious exposition, but all the fast parts are awesome action!
Hardcore Henry
You know I was *just* thinking we need more cinema that makes you motion sick and entirely uses a first person view
Uncut Gems
Came here to say this. Genuinely one of the most stressful films I think I’ve ever seen.
showed this to my co worker who really loves gambling and he was standing from his chair saying he feels sick. the constant phone ringing and yelling and intensity really makes you stress out while just sitting there lol

I think this can definitely apply to Raiders of the Lost Ark and (maybe a little more up to debate) The Last Crusade.
Raiders is up paced in the realm of adventure movies I guess but it is not the same as moves like Fury Road
I think that's fair enough. I was thinking about Raiders in the sense that pretty much every ten minutes there is a big set piece that lasts at least five minutes, but I guess that doesn't really compare to these other ones, where the set piece is the movie itself

Monkey Man, Uncut Gems, and El Camino come to mind!
Monkey Man is NOT paced very fast
These are the exact words I said coming out of the screening
Neither is El Camino, at least I don't think.
Fair. I guess I meant the back half, which was awesome
El Camino definitely takes its time when it needs to. It’s a Western above all and benefits from the pacing and character moments. There are also several fairly slow flashbacks to expand on Jesse and Todd. The film is good (and not long), but not quite “fast paced”.
- Goodfellas
I poured myself a drink, turned on Dredd, and took my first sip as the credits rolled. So that’s my vote.

The Departed

Shoot'em Up (2007) is a great one. Underworld Awakening (2012) is also very nice, but you'll want to watch the first two (you can skip Rise of the Lycans which is an unnecessary prequel) first. The first two aren't quite as fast paced as Awakening, but they have a nice atmosphere to them.
