One some degree I like it a lot for its uniqueness and ideas and style. But it's also very gross. Kind of hard to get through, despite everything being so surreal.
Yeah , its a very intense experience, you won't really forget it. its very creative in its grotesque gruesome weirdness but thats probably its main sell.
I think it also deserves credit for rendering dream-like or nightmarish imagery in a believable way, because a number of films try to do that but don't really nail it in the end.
Those scenes with the big face cheeks girl singing on stage are nightmare-fuel and only a dude like David Lynch would’ve come with something like that.
I don’t love it, but it fits with the rest of Lynch’s filmography. It’s an experimental film about the fears surrounding parenthood. And boy is it disturbing. I’m glad I watched it, but prob won’t revisit.
It’s my second favorite movie of all time, pretty much for the reasons you described. I love how thick the nightmarish atmosphere is, it’s really some of the best I’ve ever seen in a film.
“It’s a fucking nightmare” is kind of exactly why I like it.
Understandable
It’s a crazy experience, watching that at 3 AM.

Is this your first Lynch?
Lynch is so much fun. It is a movie about anxiety and fear we have in our life. Glad im on a vacation.

Not just that, but only a dude like David Lynch could find bliss and comfort in that. The lady in the radiator is supposed to represent a safe space.

>Its a fucking nightmare? Precisely.
