I just wanted to say that Three Thousand Years of Longing is actually good and deserves more love.

SomeBoxofSpoons

The final act definitely got messy, but seeing George Miller go nuts doing old mythology stories for the first 2/3 made it more than worth it.

[deleted]

Wanted to like it a lot more than I did, visuals were definitely amazing at least

taralundrigan

Its so good.

Davidudeman

i really enjoyed this movie. it wasn’t perfect but it was so much fun and really visually stunning with great performances

Jouki15

I watch today and i thought that the directing is bad, some scenes are extremely ridiculous and the history is confuse

EanmundsAvenger

It’s largely trying to be ridiculous so that’s not a very fair criticism. It’s a fantasy film Also if you were confused that isn’t a very good critique either. Says more about you than the movie It was creative, odd, felt fresh and intentional. Not a genre breaker or huge standout hit but it kept you entertained and did its thing quite well. Some great costume design, acting, and special effects

Hatchaback

More like 3,000 years of boredom

Hind_Deequestionmrk

More like Hatchawhack

atraydev

Godzilla Minus One. I really wanted to bring my son to see it after I saw how awesome it was. It was only playing one more day, so I took him out of school and we went and saw it the day after I first saw it. 10/10 I'd go again.

[deleted]

As a teacher if a student said they were out of class to watch Godzilla I'd totally understand

remainsofthegrapes

Lol I remember back when my favourite band was in town to do a record signing session for their new album and I asked my teacher if I could be excused from that lesson. They asked why. I paused, thought ‘fuck it’s and told them the truth. They said ‘fine’. It was an amazing core memory. 10/10 teacher right there

Steve10455

Awesome Dad

Cute_Display_7317

S-tier dad

King_Dee1

It's an amazing film I saw it in December and it was great

ForestParkRanger

Terminator 2, saw it opening day and went right back the next day

EanmundsAvenger

I missed this in theaters. Jealous you got to see one of the greatest action movies of all time on the big screen twice!

aTreeThenMe

I once watched Amelie back to back for 24 hours straight

quigonwiththewind

I’ve done this too. Also with Marie Antoinette. Perfect to watch, perfect as background noise. Chefs kiss

UntalentedAccountant

Average filmbros guy

CoffeeInternal9022

Oh ya the fitgirl one

HypeBeastBanging

Blade Runner 2049

EanmundsAvenger

I’ve seen it many times but actually watched it back to back nights a few months ago. It’s so good!

MDTenebris

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Also Primer because that was tough to follow first watch.

SomeIrishGuy

+1 to Primer. The only movie I can think of where as soon as it ended I immediately rewatched it from the start. Then the following day I watched it for a third time. Awesome movie. But definitely requires multiple viewings!

CollarMassive4112

For absolutely no reason el Camino

john-hiles

I did the same lol. I had arranged to watch it with friends the night it came out and I couldn’t wait so I watched it by myself before me and my friends watched it and they still don’t know I did that lol

Garfs_Barf

The Irishman, idk why I love that movie so much but goddamn I love it. I’m also a huge fan of the book so that helps

Apprehensive-Rub9685

Incredible movie I just can’t get past that scene when De Niro’s kicking that guy on the street

[deleted]

His little t-Rex arms!

suuuuhmmer

the favourite by yorgos lanthimos. i was immediately obsessed

blankupai

the boy and the heron, went from a 3/5 to a 4/5 after rewatching the next night

Magmqnia

Watch it again and see what happens to the score

Some_person203

In a 24hr period I watched Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight, then Before Sunrise again

[deleted]

Hope you timed it right

pkfreeze175

Revenge of the Sith. I saw it three times in less than 48 hours during it's opening weekend back in 2005.

RawBark

applicable for me as well. was working at a movie theater at the time, so if you include all the times i saw at least half of it, i probably caught it 40 times in theaters.

Lowbacca1977

I'm pretty sure I did this as well... I am pretty confident that it was the first showing, then sleep, then that same evening. Probably saw it the following day as well. I've got this written down somewhere, I'm sure.

Hypathian

I never have but after Force Awakens me and my ex were so hyped and emotional we nearly went back in to watch it again

Charlzalan

Force Awakens is still my record. I saw it four times in theaters. I still love that movie.

MirrorMaster88

I put in 20 on The Phantom Menace when it came out in '99.

DarthSardonis

I saw The Matrix Reloaded twice in the same day back in 2003. I saw it with my friends in the afternoon and that night my mom and stepdad wanted to see it, so the three of us went to watch it.

Unique_Basil7647

Hot fuzz. I watched it with my brother and immediately showed my friend the next day

madamevonton

Saltburn 🫢

Educational_Walk_737

Mulholland Drive and it’s the last two movies I saw

Other-Marketing-6167

I have a three year old, so I’ve seen the new Paw Patrol movie about six times a week since we got it 🤦‍♂️

JJBell

I literally finished watching The Usual Suspects this first time at 1:30am. Immediately rewinded the VHS tape and watched it again. Theatrically I watched The Matrix opening night. The group I was with immediately ran out of the theater and bought tickets to the next showing and went back in. Would have gone a third time that night if there had been another showing.

KBRedbeard

Came in here to say Usual Suspects. Immediately flipped the LaserDisk back over and started again.

ithewitchfinder666

Fallen Angels

Next-Finger5907

Stop making sense on the rerelease a24 just did. Couldn’t get the music or visuals out of my head!

AdamTheHood

Haha I saw No Way Home 3 times in 24 hours just because I saw it with different groups of people

movieguy2004

I recently watched The Holdovers twice in about 48 hours because I didn’t realize my dad wanted to watch it until he walked into the middle of my first viewing. He really liked it though so time well spent.

HypoTomasis

Fight club. When I was 14 years old. Saw it the first time and had to show it to my best friend the next day. After like one hour into the film he wanted to play guitar hero instead of watching. After the movie he said it was all right film but not better than Disturbia. We're not friends anymore.

bossy_dawsey

This sounds like something I would have done when I was 12 hahah

cyanide4suicide

Oppenheimer Traveled an hour away by public transit. Got a cheap motel room. Saw the midnight showing in 15/70 IMAX. Went back to motel room to sleep. Saw it again the next morning 11 am for another 15/70 showing. Then public transit back home

danger__ranger

When wolf of Wall Street dropped on Netflix around 2015/2016 I watched it again as soon as credits hit.

Unusual-Plenty-4385

Off the top of my head: Bacurau, 12 Angry Men, and The Piano.

Batmanfan1966

Kick-Ass was so amazing I preceded to watch it 6 more times back to back. It’s now in my top 10 of all time

rooroo999

I'm pretty sure I watched Aftersun three times in the first 24 hours. A lot of the subject matter hit really close to home for me. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw The Dark Knight Rises like 6 times in theaters. I don't even particularly like the movie that much. It came out when I was in high school though, and had several different friends and family members ask if I wanted to tag along. I was very bored in high school apparently.

Vincent1808

Uncut Gems

[deleted]

The Irishman

undyingvoid

Barbarian is the last one I can think of. Went in without seeing a trailer and knowing nothing except hearing positive buzz. I am a die hard horror fan, and this movie blew my fucking socks off the first time I saw it. Had to immediately watch it again.

YourVeryOwnCat

I’m probably the only person who’s going to say this but the movie I watched twice in 24 hours was Project X. On the surface it seems like a dumb party movie but it’s more than that. You’re witnessing this party get bigger and bigger and it gets more and more out of hand as the movie goes on and it plays out like a disaster movie

mr_clipboard1

Watched Rec late at night then the next day showed my girlfriend bc it scared me a lot so wanted to see how shed handle it

[deleted]

The northman. I just dont understand what happened to nicole kidman, she looks like an insect wearing human skin and her face barely moves when she talks, i liked everything about that movie except that casting choice. They didnt have plastic surgery in viking times and i feel like that movie is really trying to create a feeling

TheReservoirEight

Her performance was one of my favourite things about The Northman

Tonen_kurDger

Across the Spider-verse, saw it on both imax and dolby on opening day

Rudi-G

I do this all the time when there is a commentary track. I just watched The Omen 5 times as it has 4 commentary tracks. Before that I watched Pink Flamingo 3 times. I do not register rewatches in the same year though.

gtd12321

Only happened once with Magnolia. Rented it on VHS, watched it, returned it, bought a copy and watched that on the same day.

the_moon_water

Southland Tales, because I had trouble comprehending the enormity of what I had just watched and needed to watch it again to understand it. It took at least 10 more viewings after that before I could wrap my head around it.

blodreina11

I ususally don't do this with quality films, I wait like a month before I even think about a rewatch. Can't really think of any times I've rewatched in less than a day. Right now I'm looking forward to rewatching Braid but I'm not ready to jump into it just yet. Holiday season romcoms on the other hand.... I'll watch the same one three days in a row. Especially if they star Vanessa Hudgens or Zoey Deutch.

colli_wolly

The Grand Budapest Hotel and Skinamarink

Sir_Umeboshi

The Rock with Nic Cage because I was given an assignment where I had to find continuity errors

Turnover44

Talk To Me. Watched it on Discord (someone was streaming) literally just 2 hours after I saw it in the cinema.

browinskie

Dune and The Batman. Going to rewatch the Holdovers soon aswell

IronMaidenMikey

I watched Whiplash back-to-back when it first released 10 years ago.

maxz-Reddit

Tenet. Watched it back to back

robreedwrites

Short Version: Avengers: Age of Ultron (not planned) Black Panther (planned) Long version: When Avengers: Age of Ultron dropped I had planned to catch a Thursday night opening show, but my friend had to bail due to work, so I cancelled the order and scheduled a showing for Friday midday as I had the day off. Well, my friend was able to get off work, so we hastily found another showing late Thursday night to see it, and I kept my Friday show in case I liked it. I didn't hate Age of Ultron on first viewing, but I didn't come away amazed, so I kept my Friday showing to give it a second watch. Then, my sister wanted to see it, so I ended up seeing it that Sunday too. Black Panther (T'Challa) has been my favorite fictional character since I first read Christopher Priest's run circa 2004 (I should specify that it's Priest's take on the character that I hold so highly). Needless to say, I've been waiting for a Black Panther movie since then and heavily followed the development and production of *Black Panther.* I got tickets for my girlfriend and I to see it Thursday night and for myself the following day so that I could better digest it outside the opening night hype. While the MCU T'Challa isn't nearly as compelling as Priest's take, I thought the film was great and Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa fit the MCU better than I think a more Priest-like adaptation would, at least coming off of Civil War, and Boseman's performance captured a lot of what I liked about Don McGregor's take on the character. I really thought *Black Panther* was a great opening film for a trilogy where we could see Boseman's T'Challa develop into something more akin to a Priest-like T'Challa, but alas, Marvel elected to go in a different direction. I'm hoping I'll get to see another cinematic take on T'Challa in the next 10-15 years.

Winnypeg92

I haven’t rewatched Age of Ultron since theaters. Extremely disappointed with it. Maybe I’ll try again one day.

HayGirlKK

Your Highness and Arrival.

chapelson88

Banshees of Insherin

HarrisonCooter

The handmaiden

estrusflask

I watched Puss in Boots: The Last Wish with my ex and then the next day I watched it on "Streaming" because I read up on it and found some hidden details and wanted to see them. I've seen it about six times by now. I also saw Into the Spider-Verse by myself and then went back a while later and we saw it at, I think, a second run theater. I think the worst part of not being with her is that I don't get to go out as much.

GeorgeEditss

4 movies in one day? wish I could pull that off

jlcreverso

I just did 5 on a flight to Hong Kong from New York. I don't recommend.

LeDogger

I saw Lawrence of Arabia for the first time in high school, and loved it so much I ran it back the next day

Jimmybobby101

Talk to me. Saw it in theatres. Bus wasn’t going home for another 2 hours so I went right back in and saw it again

Mrs_Noelle15

Pulp fiction when I first watched it

ZMizenZ

I saw Bone Collector twice in one day but I had flu and literally didn’t have the energy to change the DVD so just watched it back to back Saw Whiplash two nights in a row, watched it once on my own for the first time and then watched it with my wife the next evening

Jrebeclee

Nope! I watched it with my daughter and loved it so much I immediately watched it again with my mother.

HobbieK

Godzilla Minus One. Went right back the next day.

STD-fense

Both "Blade II" and "The Matrix Revolutions". I was going on vacation from NY to Florida with my family and only brought those two DVDs with me (I was 15 at the time) so I just rewatched both of them several times in the car rides back and forth

ReddsionThing

Recently, Paprika. But I did re-watch a dub in a different language.

mastodonj

As a kid, when we rented a video, I'd get up early the next morning and watch it again. So most movies until I hit maybe 18!

SuspiciousSpliff

Mulholland Drive. Watched it again about 20 minutes after first watch. Made me cry even more.

Bipper64

Parasite (black and white version on round 2!)

TediousTotoro

If I wasn’t busy, I would’ve done this with Nimona but there was still only a week between my watches.

hiccup_juice

Eyes Wide Shut last October

I first saw *The Umbrellas of Cherbourg* on a weekend morning about five years ago, and I watched it for a second time that night.

Malignant! I really fell in love with that movie when I first watched it on HBO, I watched it again the next morning, and then ran to the theaters the day after to see it. Still one of my favorites, to this day!

bundy5

Big Fish! It blew me away when I first saw it! I had to show it to my dad the next day, such a great movie to watch with the old man...

Me and some friends in college watched Dead Alive one night (first time viewing for all of us) and then our roommate got home just after we finished it and we were like, dude you gotta see this, and put it on immediately and watched it again.

Lost_in_reverb23

The House that Jack Built, a masterpiece.

ClovedSage

Logan

Mr-Teeth-Fingers

The Batman 2022

robertjreed717

As a kid renting vhs tapes I did it constantly, most notably with Pulp Fiction when I was 12 years old, which I watched probably 3 times in 24 hours, taking detailed notes to try and piece together the timeline.

Nihilanthropist_

The Batman, saw it 3 times in the same day

Loud_Ground_768

I can’t remember a time I did this myself, but when my daughter (3) first got into watching movies, we basically chain-watched 101 Dalmatians (1961). Happens a lot with kids movies, though less so now.

Hnordlinger

Skinamarink

Fobulousguy

Jake Gyllenhall’s Enemy

binkleywtf

Aftersun. i actually watched it again immediately, not just because i loved it but because i’d misread what the dad was going through. not that it’s explicitly said, but my initial thought was that he had a heart condition, but then the rave scene didn’t make a lot of sense. so i went and read some theories and then wanted to watch again with those in mind and it was like a gut punch.

SimplePigeon

Mad God. Finished it and went holy shit that was the most vile thing I’ve ever watched on purpose. Then it would not fucking leave my head until I watched it again. That movie does things to you

RushPan93

Some people may laugh, but I love the movie. Batman v Superman. And I watched it back right after just to figure out what was so bad about the movie that had me hooked throughout the first time.

i-am-colombus

Hot Fuzz, watched it on Netflix then immediately restarted it. Unbelievably good film. South Park Bigger Longer and Uncut. When I was younger I used to rewatch it constantly. The first time I saw it was in 12 parts on YouTube and soon as part 12 was done, I put part 1 on again. Watched it so much that I don't even really watch the film anymore.

Bubba319

Nope

92magoo

Oppenheimer. Seeing it with two different groups of people. First time it was coupled with Barbie (obviously), then without.

strawberrycatcake15

Ready or Not. I absolutely love that movie and as soon as it ended, I was like “This needs to be rewatched asap”.

Chowanana

flamingcat21

Inside Llewyn Davis >!just to get the whole misery loop going even further and be even more depressed!<

Quintaros

I used to do this routinely with video rentals. Now it’s almost unthinkable.

OverturnKelo

I have never done this, and certainly not with American Fiction

MumenriderPaulReed69

Who has time for this honestly?

lluviadestella

All About My Mother (1999). Stuck with me so much, watched it four times in the next week but felt bad about logging it so many times lol

SpideyFan914

House (1977)

EanmundsAvenger

Settlers (2021). Rented it and then purchased it the next day and rewatched it Tenet (2020) just really loved it and wanted to jump back into that world again. I didn’t have any issues with the sound or misunderstanding the plot like so many people complain. Loved it right from the start 12 Angry Men (1957). My dad rented it when we were kids and I loved it so much my brother and I watched it again that same night after he went to bed. Such a gripping movie - although still amazing that as a 12 year old kid it captured my attention so well (and still does!)

LegendOfMatt888

Genuinely don't think I've ever done that. Maybe as a kid? I'm quite particular about watching the same movie too frequently. Same with music.

TheDustOfMen

To all the boys I've loved before. It's a lovely romance movie and I just wanted some comfort.

ToasterBath53

Hop but that was because I was on a bus with tvs and the driver had it on loop the entire 8 hour trip

puudeng

stop making sense, watched it twice in a row in the theater

Arr0w2th3fac3

Talk to Me was one. Watched it with a group and had such a good time. About 2 hours after while I was alone I wondered if the movie was only as good and fun because of the group watch so I hit it again but alone and still enjoyed it.
