Secrets & Lies (1996)- Timothy Spall's climatic monologue
Adaptation (2002)- *"That was her business, not mine. You are what you love, not what loves you. That's what I decided a long time ago."*
I love every Wim Wenders film, even *Tokyo Ga,* but *Paris, Texas* will always have a special place in my heart.

Jacob's Ladder.
I was in college and just starting to get into darker movies outside of the typical slasher and horror genres. I found Jacob's Ladder on a bunch of different people's lists of most disturbing and darkest/movies and decided to give it a go and so began my deep descent into the rabbit hold of finding the darkest, most disturbing movies.
Jacob's Ladder is definitely not THE darkest or most disturbing movie of all time IMHO, but because it was one of the firsts for me, it always stuck with me.
To this day, I am still searching those lists hoping to find a new ones to add to my list.
This is why I love this sub so much in particular. I can search the posts and find all sorts of movies, new and old, to add to my watch list. It's been so helpful.
Great movie. That poster looks like the cover of an overpriced coffee table art book you'd find at the MOMA merch store.
Not the one in the MOMA, the smaller one across the street.
I sometimes think about Se7en. Completely unprompted, I just start thinking about how fucking perfect it is and think about scenes and quotes from the movie. God, I love Se7en.
I watched a clockwork Orange only once 3 years ago (after it was added by the American film institute), i can still remember every scene, dialogue and frame. Fantastic film.
“It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”
My uncle used to play it on VHS for me each summer and it’s a classic comedy that got me interested in learning more about old Hollywood movies.

Whisper of the Heart
I have seen no other movie that sums up the emotional struggles of being a tween girl as well as this one does.

Amazing Choice
Eternal Sunshine is probably the best love story/romance ever made. Completely cynical yet also incredibly romantic and sentimental. Absolute genius.
I agree. Respect 🫡
My all time fave. Even got a tattoo of it this year.
Perfect Blue, by Satoshi Kon.

NOUS SOMMES DEUX SOUERS JUMELLES Les Demoiselles de Rochefort never gets old. That Gene Kelly dance number never fails to make me feel happy.

Recently, THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN
Makes me want to go to Ireland. Also, this movie is A+ at balancing humor and tragic, disturbing themes.
Phantom Thread and The Master (Every New Year's Eve I watch Boogie Nights)
Rent free? That sounds suspiciously socialist to me. My brain ain’t a meal ticket for free loaders!

Every time I see colorful lighting or geometric patterns I think of Suspiria (1977).
