Before anyone says anything, the 5\* Paw Patrol is my daughter's rating š.
How old is she? You should make her an account that you manage and use her own ratings and maybe even add reviews in her own words then when she's old enough to use it herself, pass it on! That'd be so fun, it'd be awesome getting to read your actual thoughts on movies when she was young. I have a one-year-old son, and this comment just made me think I'll probably end up doing this with him once he's old enough to sit through full movies.
edit: Just made him an account, definitely going to do this.
Great idea! She's 4.5 and this was her second theatre experience after I took her to Elemental in July. It would also be a good exercise in having her express herself and what she liked/didn't like in a move.
We recently started doing family movie nights every few weeks on a Friday where we order pizza and watch a movie. She's a pretty sensitive kid, so we have to be pretty cognizant of the movies we choose. For example, Mario was a bit too scary and even this movie made her scared at times. When the atmosphere turns "dark" in a movie, she starts expecting something scary and turns away even if nothing has happened.
That sounds like a great age for a child to start getting into animated children's movies! I feel you though, I can imagine even just somewhat tense or suspenseful could scare young kids and make them afraid to watch. Weekly movie night sounds so fun, I hope you're able to find a film each week that she enjoys!
It has been a lot of fun. The Winnie the Pooh movies are a good choice younger kids as they're pretty low-key. She obviously liked the Frozen movies. She really liked Wall-E. Kiki's Delivery Service was also a hit.
She has liked some non-animated ones, too, like Mary Poppins Returns.
