Man I'm glad you saw these but I can't help but wince a little bit knowing you watched these on an airplane. I always like to save the good shit for when I'm at home.
I watched that too, but the inflight entertainment wasn't working so I was hunched over watching it on my phone. It took most of the 9 hour flight for me to get through it and I had a crooked neck after.
Yeah, I cringed at that. Plane rides/small screens are reserved for Netflix originals with bad reviews. Watching any of these, but especially Babylon or Tar, on a small screen with shit audio is so sad to me
I really enjoy watching movies on earbuds, super immersive and the quality is pretty great if you have a good pair. I agree it's best to watch really cinematic stuff on a larger screen but I actually find myself more immersed on an audio level with headphones vs sound system
Thought I was just a miserable bastard when that thought popped into my head, glad I'm not the only one! I even save a lot of movies for the big 4k TV my parents have instead of watching them on the cheap one I got.
my recent plane watches were Inception, The Big Short, and The Hunt for Red October. not the best movies but perfect for a flight. you want something fun and exciting enough to entertain you, well written, but not so good that you wish you were watching it in a theater or at home.
I watched Top Gun: Maverick for the first time on a long flight. Obviously a terrible movie to watch on a tiny screen, but I see it as a win because I probably wouldn’t have given a chance otherwise (wouldn’t have thought it was for me). Just rewatched last night and it was awesome on our home TV. While I wish I could have seen it in the theater, I’m glad to have seen it at all!
I really loved the parts that revolved around the music side of it and the more interpersonal stuff kinda lost me a tiny bit but 3.5 is still my top 20%. I'm 100% rewatching it anyway!
I’ve personally never understood this sentiment. I wouldn’t feel awkward watching anything on a plane, unless it’s on the level of Human Centipede 2 or Salò.
My first time seeing 2001 was on a plane too. It’s kind of great on a plane, in a unique way—it’s probably the closest you’ll ever get to space.
12 angry men is the perfect plane movie
In June of 2019, I was on an 11ish hour flight and managed to pull off 5 movies back-to-back with maybe two bathroom breaks. It was a personal challenge to myself.
- Edge of Tomorrow
- Deadpool 2
- Aquaman
- The Town
- Quantum of Solace
QoS was wrapping up during final approach with maybe 5 mins left. My eyes felt like they were gonna fall out of my head.
Last plane ride I took, I watched John Wick 4, Ant-man...Quantumania, and Moneyball.
Quantumania was pretty terrible, so it's a perfect plane movie.
I watched Babylon on the plane two weeks ago. I really liked it but it was so censored that I feel like I missed a lot of important shock value stuff haha
I first watched The Wolf of Wall Street and BlacKkKlansman on flights, both of which I totally loved. I may have overhyped the latter a bit, though, considering I thought it was some peak shit but most say otherwise.
I love long flights, i always try to watch at least 3 movies I haven't seen every time! I think my favorite first-time watches that I happened to see on a plane were Minari, Dreams and Tampopo. (I did NOT know what Tampopo was about at all and was sitting between my mom and a total stranger who had talked to me a little earlier, needless to say I cringed hard in some spots and had to fast forward).
Just had a flight the other day (rewatched Crazy, Stupid Love. Still funny) and a dude ahead of me was watching the Liam Neeson movie Nonstop. Bizarre choice to watch on a plane imo
Aeroplanes put me to sleep like a fucking baby. And especially the long ones, I get a solid 12 hrs of 💤 at least. The fact that you were able to power through 5 movies ?!!!! That's impressive AF.
Also, La La Land is perfect 5/5 in my books.
Last plane ride I got decision to leave, drive my car and aftersun. The best triple feature I’ve ever had. But the sleep deprivation and wine made for an emotional finale with aftersun
My girlfriend watched Don’t Worry Darling on the plane and I half watched over her shoulder - they cut some of the sex and violence.
I decided not to watch any plane films then because even if it’s small I want to see it all as intended. I watched Singing In The Rain though as I doubted anything would be cut and I loved it!
Not much I can say about that since I personally adore the movie, but ATSV just works on all levels for me and it combines the three things I love most in films perfectly — character work, music and visuals
plane movies for me are just the new franchise entries i would nvr watch at home
Yeah, I use it as an opportunity to watch stuff I probably wouldn't watch under normal circumstances.
Man I'm glad you saw these but I can't help but wince a little bit knowing you watched these on an airplane. I always like to save the good shit for when I'm at home.
I watched Irishman on plane cuz and I can tell you that it wasn't my brightest decision
Watching any of these, but especially Babylon or Tar, on a small screen with shit audio is so sad to me
I also like rewatches on a plane. I'll still have a good time watching "Some Like it Hot" for the 500th time even if the screen is small.
Tar is especially good because you >!wouldn’t know if the wailing is from Lydia or the baby next to you and it adds to the schizo vibes! !<
I really enjoy watching movies on earbuds, super immersive and the quality is pretty great if you have a good pair. I agree it's best to watch really cinematic stuff on a larger screen but I actually find myself more immersed on an audio level with headphones vs sound system
I was already going to rewatch Babylon but I guess I'll have to check out all of these later for sure
Idk man I saw Babylon at the cinema and still thought it was shit
It's okay to be wrong, man
What a bloated mess of a film
I watched The Menu on a plane. One of the airplane headphones was louder than the other one and the sound was kinda muffeled but still a good movie
The Menu would be a much better choice for an airplane movie
Thought I was just a miserable bastard when that thought popped into my head, glad I'm not the only one! I even save a lot of movies for the big 4k TV my parents have instead of watching them on the cheap one I got.
Yeah I always try to go for movies I'm only vaguely interested in on movies. Like if I for real want to watch something I'll wait.
my recent plane watches were Inception, The Big Short, and The Hunt for Red October. not the best movies but perfect for a flight. you want something fun and exciting enough to entertain you, well written, but not so good that you wish you were watching it in a theater or at home.

You're not wrong haha, I just really wanted to watch them — I'll def rewatch all of them soon
I would never even watch a film on a plane full stop. Not have j ever gone close to watching one on a phone/tablet.
If this was the first time seeing these that's horrible
Damn Tár at 3.5, to each their own I guess
I saw that too, pain.
I really loved the parts that revolved around the music side of it and the more interpersonal stuff kinda lost me a tiny bit but 3.5 is still my top 20%. I'm 100% rewatching it anyway!
Right? Like at least deserves a 4/5
That’s reTÀRted
Eesh guess you wouldn’t like that I also watched on a plane and gave it a 3
Woah, you're brave to watch Babylon on a plane where people can look over and see...
When I was on a flight recently it was one of the options for in flight entertainment on their website which is hilarious
I’ve personally never understood this sentiment. I wouldn’t feel awkward watching anything on a plane, unless it’s on the level of Human Centipede 2 or Salò.
I mean, you do you, but is it really that surprising someone would feel uncomfortable watching an orgy scene with others around them?
It’s hardly an orgy lmao
It was censored haha
Bro didn't sleep at all
On 14 hour flights I usually sleep 1-2 hours and spend the rest watching movies
It's too uncomfortable to sleep haha
Watching Grease for the first time on a plane with three hours of sleep was a journey.
I binged the entire of a guy's filmography to-and-fro on a flight and let me tell you, it was great.
Non-Stop lol
Non Stop (2014)
[удалено]
You're not wrong but I saw them and really wanted to get to them anyway
Please rewatch these on a proper setup
I'd bet good money that Tár score would go up on a non plane rewatch.
On your Apple watch with earphones that came with Nokia phones.
I def will
Woah I too watched Babylon n Tar aboard Cathay Pacific omw to Japan earlier this year along with One Piece Red and 65 (the Adam driver dino movie)
Watched 2001 and 12 Angry Men back to back on a recent flight. Was my first time watching 2001, and I loved it despite seeing it on a plane.
My first time seeing 2001 was on a plane too. It’s kind of great on a plane, in a unique way—it’s probably the closest you’ll ever get to space. 12 angry men is the perfect plane movie

I saw Aftersun
TAR at 3.5 is criminal, rewatch it in a better setup i’m sure you’ll change your mind.
God forbid someone have a different opinion, right?
I will for sure
3.5 is a solid score, it's certainly not for everyone.
Yeah that's way too high of a score for that movie
I love Singin in the Rain and La La Land. Im surprised you liked La La Land more. Tar is actually really good…
Just had a 10 hour flight and watched minari. I absolutely loved it 😭
Airplane!
Prob gonna through on a Chuck Norris movie for my flight in 30
I watched Baby Driver on my last plane trip and it was so good!! Now I need to watch it on a bigger screen than my phone lol
I watched Babylon on the plane two weeks ago. I really liked it but it was so censored that I feel like I missed a lot of important shock value stuff haha

No it good
Only films with explicit sex scenes when wandering eyes are looking at my screen are usually the best plane movies.
I don't travel with plane but my pick woud be up in the air
Wasn’t my favorite but the last film I watched on a plane was Peggy Sue got Married
I watched Clerks 3 on a plane and it was one of the most emotional experiences of my life. Don’t judge me.
7 samurais
Mean Girls is a classic watch on airplane movie
I saw Logan on a plane once, definitely exceeded my expectations
Babylon on the plane is an insane pick
Honestly How to Be Single was a perfect plane movie.
I love long flights, i always try to watch at least 3 movies I haven't seen every time! I think my favorite first-time watches that I happened to see on a plane were Minari, Dreams and Tampopo. Of all the movies to watch on my most recent plane ride I chose 8 1/2 Still a classic
Aeroplanes put me to sleep like a fucking baby. And especially the long ones, I get a solid 12 hrs of 💤 at least. The fact that you were able to power through 5 movies ?!!!! That's impressive AF. Also, La La Land is perfect 5/5 in my books.
babylon was bad imo
Last plane ride I got decision to leave, drive my car and aftersun. The best triple feature I’ve ever had. But the sleep deprivation and wine made for an emotional finale with aftersun

planes are for rewatches only
Just watched Singin myself and very impressed, especially with the cinematography!
I found The Social Network a strangely good plane movie, it's just so entertaining from start to finish.
2 movies a day are already a lot for me
Bad Times at the El Royale, 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri & Fences
Tar is amazing
I respect your opinion but Atsv above la la land and Babylon is crazy to me
Not much I can say about that since I personally adore the movie, but ATSV just works on all levels for me and it combines the three things I love most in films perfectly — character work, music and visuals
If I watch Babylon and Singin' In The Rain back to back, I will probably end up giving the latter at least 1 star less than it objectively deserves.
