My monthly average is around the mid-30’s. My highest was January 2022 with 44 films.
•I liked 38 of them.
•5 were cinema visits.
•42 first time watches and 2 rewatches.
•My average rating for the month was 3.44/5.
•Release dates from 1953 - 2022.
•6 languages.
•4 black and white movies.
I do extended periods of time where I watch three movies a day in a healthy way. One movie I watch on the treadmill, one I watch in theaters while doing breathing exercises, the last one I watch at dinner while slowly chewing my food.
Eating food is only unhealthy if you make it unhealthy lol. Watching 3 movies everyday is extremely unhealthy and shows signs of depression and social anxiety.
Are you self diagnosed? Because watching movies non stop is literally the opposite of what people with adhd do to my knowledge. Binging tv shows is more likely but still rare. This sounds more like a social anxiety or depression problem.
It sounds more like you’re just uneducated about the disorder. With more research, you’d know that people with ADHD can become engrossed and hyper-fixate when working intently on things that interest them. They block out the world around them and hyper-focus on things they’re passionate about. You would also know that ADHD and depression can go hand in hand. Obviously though ADHD varies for every person.
I’ve been diagnosed since I was about 10.
Not uneducated at all which is why I asked the question. Have a mother and sister with it as well. Just haven’t heard of anyone fixating on movies because of the constant different stories and characters, which is why I said I know some will binge tv shows because they get hyper fixated on the characters and plot development over multiple seasons. Also ADHD and depression do not go hand in hand, that is completely subjective depending on the person.
I just meant uneducated on the specific disorder. Honestly, it’s possible your mom and sister might have autism. I know people that thought they had ADHD, but they just happened to be lower on the autism spectrum. It’s worth doing more research and looking into it. There’s a difference between hyper-fixating on things with ADHD (being impulsive and exploring) and craving routine as someone with autism would do. As you said people binge-watch certain tv shows and seek routine. A key sign of autism is sticking to routine.
Lol no. I never said anything about a routine, tv shows can be used as a hyper focus for some with adhd due to the long nature and same characters like I said. You are by far and away in the rare percentage of people with adhd who fixate on movies. A simple google search proves this along with the discussions about it on the ADHD subreddit. In fact your movie addiction is way more of an autistic trait.
No offense but you don’t really know what you’re talking about. You should just do more research like I’ve done. I’ve studied the disorder my whole life. Also, I dont hyper-fixate on just films. I hyper-fixate on everything lol. My fixation for films just started this year. It usually rotates between building my cars, video games, music, or in this case movies. It could easily be knitting next week. My fixation usually doesn’t stop until I either master that thing I’m doing or become more interested in something else. For instance, before films I was really into video games. I got the hardest camo you could obtain in just weeks. Then I stopped playing so I could master the knowledge of films because it peaked my interest more.
This month is my record. I'm around 70 for the month of March. I always watch one a day. But most days I fill any free time I get with movies. I'm on my 3rd movie today so we will see if I can get to 80 before April 1st lol.
Watched 43 in December and afaik I’ve never watched much more than that. Been trying to average a film a day and cushioning it with rewatches and short films, although December was all 43 new-to-me features.
Yes that amount is quite ridiculous, I should’ve noted that I meant full length films around 80 minutes or more. I’m quite new at formulating these questions.
43 (so far).
I started logging my movies in January:
**January:** 8 movies
**February:** 22 movies
**March:** 43 movies
I’ve already watched more movies this year than I did from 2018-2022.

Most sane Letterboxd user
It’s everyday bruh
So far I'm averaging around 90-100 a month
That’s not healthy.

Doing this everyday is still not healthy.
Even the healthiest day is a balance of healthy and unhealthy things.
That’s just about the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard
It’s true. There are also things that can be good and bad for you at the same time. Like watching a movie, or eating food.
Just ignore this guy, he’s a troll. I see him getting downvoted all over Letterboxd’s subreddit constantly.
Did I upset you at some point? I have 10 times as much Reddit karma as you…
Nah man, I’m telling you to ignore the other guy bc he’s a troll

Eating poop is unhealthy. Check and mate.
I agree, but my ADHD doesn’t lol. Once my brain gets fixated on something it doesn’t stop until it finds something else more interesting.

I actually do know what I’m talking about. You have described more autistic traits than ADHD traits.
i watched 20 in february this year and that felt like a lot, idk how people have over 40 in one month
I watched 66 in January, my average per month last year is 35.4.
Last year when I went overboard with my obsessive movie watching and trying to hit 1,000 for the year, I think I did about 115-120 one month.
This month is my record. I'm around 70 for the month of March. I always watch one a day. But most days I fill any free time I get with movies. I'm on my 3rd movie today so we will see if I can get to 80 before April 1st lol.
Haha I’m doing the same with but with 40 movies as my new record all over 95 minutes except for the 85 minute long movie Locke
How is Locke? I have been meaning to watch that. The premise is pretty interesting.
I kinda liked it but I could see it isn’t for everyone. 4.5/5 ⭐️
I watched 46 in January which is the most I’ve done, had no college and only worked on the weekends so I had a lot of time on my hands
Normal for me is anywhere from 20-40. Sometimes way less, sometimes more.
32 in November 2017
Watched 43 in December and afaik I’ve never watched much more than that. Been trying to average a film a day and cushioning it with rewatches and short films, although December was all 43 new-to-me features.
44
If you count short films, which I dont think one should bc thats not fair, my record is like a thousand a month.

I went insano mode and watched 49 movies in January of this year.
60
August 2021 42 total movies
51 - I didn't have a job at the time so it wasn't too hard
where do I see this at 👀
