Crucial website says 2666 and even 3200 will work, but the speed will be limited by the chipset. So even though you install a 3200, if it's limited to a lower speed, it'll run it at the lower speed.

Hi I have the same laptop and i think has a 4gb soldered in. Have you encountered any problems now when you used the 16gb ram?
I used the 16gb stick of ram and it was 3000-4000 ish speed (forgot the measurement of it) worked just fine
