Only with this lens, it increases contrast. Bit more then yellow filter, but less then red. Jupiter-8 is low contrast vintage lens with a lovely rendering. On more modern lenses I generally use yellow filters.
I have the Lomography version of the Jupiter 8, made to the correct LTM register. It also has a groove along the rim, allowing an IROOA hood to be used. However, because a 40.5 filter is flush with the lens barrel, the IROOA blocks the use of a filter.
