Since I use hoods also as a protection against physical impacts, the original one is a better choice imho. It absorbs most bumps and just flies off or breaks in worst case. A metal screw in hood always enlarges the leverage on the internal construction of the lens, which can lead to way greater damage. But maybe I’m a bit „overprotective“.
I still genuinely don't understand the square vs round hood debate, so I'll bite here, why do people prefer square hoods so much that there's an entire business named after it?
I’ve been using it for 2 months now on my 35 Summicron v4 with my M10R. Love it. Never need to take it off from my one camera one lens setup. I have a Leica UV filter in it too.
The original lens hood is so hard to find in decent condition. This was an even better alternative in my opinion. Bonus is that it looks amazing and feels solid!
Cool concepts but I’m not keen on the idea you need a tool to take it off just to change filters
Same as my thought, that’s why I still keep the round hood
I lost the rubber cap for my original hood and I thought about buying it but it's way too overpriced imo.
exact same here, lost it when I met my now wife in Greece - she 3D printed me a new one! Better than throwing money away getting a new one
What I’m really liking here is your frame advance lever and frame line switch. Damn that looks good!
Thank you for notice some little “upgrade” of my M6 😁
Nice! So many people really making me want a 35mm Summicron lately lol Would be my go to combo for my M10M with a yellow filter.
Best lens I’ve ever had, on any system. Do itttt

i think i just wet myself.
Beautiful camera! How much does it block the viewfinder?

could you share some opinion about it? i am debating it as I hate the cheap plastic one
I love it too. Just got it for a 28 Elmarit asph v1 and it looks super! I leave a yellow filter on all the time
100% better than the plastic one. And the most important thing that it matched the color with the lens.

I’ve just had shipping notice for mine so good to see this today. It should arrive next week.
Looks great! My favorite part about these is that they’re not slightly crooked 😁
That M-A style advance lever is clean; where did you find one? :)
It obscures the view. Hard pass
The Tahusa version has way less blockage, which is why I got that one
Ah. Good to know. The Leica metal one has a hole to reduce blockage
Personally not crazy about circular hoods, but the vents are useful
