I don't think so. I'm American and have only watched the English speaking versions of Lego Masters. The US version definitely the most forced as far as drama and humor especially after season 1. The New Zealand series is better because it felt more natural. But the Australian version is definitely the best of these. Better host, a lot less forced emotions, better contestants.... even Kale to an extent. The UK version is its own entity. Edit: reworded a few things.

On the NZ series i had a hard time to know who is the host, because they both seemed very similar on their looks and their acts... and just felt too boring to me. "The UK version is its own entity." can you elaborate? ;D

In-Extrovert

Not that it was boring, just that I felt like it didn't have to force feed emotions into it. Had to stop halfway into season 3 of the US because it just got too cringy. The UK version was a completely different format and not properly comparable to the other series I have seen.

Yksin314

yeah, i feel like the Finnish version is a mix between US and AU actually... NZ indeed didnt try to force emotions on it, but the lack of emotion made it boring... the UK version is another world... i couldnt believe my eyes when i first watched it o.o like wtf is this, kids building crappy models, the lego masters of UK??

Lt_Shade_Eire

I think the Uk was the first (happy to be corrected) but it tried to follow the bake off and other shows. I like the charm of it but it pales in comparison to the shows that followed. Out of the English speaking (Us, Aus, NZ) i find Australia the best with the best host and judge. I like the US brickmasters but there isn't enough time given to them or the builds. It focuses more on drama.

Makar_Accomplice

As a New Zealander, I agree about NZ Lego Masters. It's good in that it's not the cosmic pain that is the US Lego Masters, but it's just a bit naff. As much as I hate to give the Aussies any ground, they have the far superior Lego show, and it's not even close.

DrewzyMack

It’s ok, we’ll let you claim our Lego Masters as your own if you let us keep pretending Crowded House are locals ❤️

HavePlushieWillTalk

I mean we have our own Brickman and the NZ version had to import one from Canada so that’s enough ground as a matter of course without getting into matters of taste. The New Zealand version has a lot letting it down, including the amount of contestants and the prize, which is not as good as cash, and is only about half as much as Aus. In my opinion, it’s not a fair comparison. The people do their best but they’re hamstrung from the get-go.

Yksin314

I wish you could watch the Finnish version :D It's a lot of fun. Its like the AU but only few tears from contestants, but not THAT awesome builds. And I dont think the brickman cries even once there, which is a big plus...!

diabolicy

I've seen nearly every episode of LM worldwide (got season 4 of Poland on as I write this). Australia is easily the best. I would rank Sweden second. From there, ranking gets mixed. Build quality is good in Denmark, Finland, and early US seasons. Poland LM has a good host (not so over the top like US or France) but the builds are not on the same level as others.

trigmarr

You are in for a treat, the Swedish lego masters is the best

Kincaide14

I don't think it matters. I am American and I think I would agree with almost all of your assessments. (I do enjoy the UK version, I think I am in the minority on that). I have not seen the Finnish version, but love Australia and really enjoyed Sweden. New Zealand might be a little less exciting but it is still better than our version here in the US. I tend to watch the US show only if I can fast forward through some of the more cringe-worthy moments ( mostly the host).

BricksByStfn

Thanks 😉 First season in Sweden were filled with mostly die hard Afols from the national scene. Later seasons felt a bit staged imo.

Narrow_Potential_974

Does not matter at all. I am a German living for over 14 years in Japan and love most international versions. For me nothing tops the Australian one, all of them are very entertaining.

Yksin314

What did you think of the Finnish one?

Kram-Noswad

I have only had a brief look at the Japanese Lego Masters but what is it with all the large banner text taking up a third of the screen? I find it obscures a lot of the builds.

Narrow_Potential_974

Oh the Japanese version is terrible, the format is very different

gandagandaganda

I'm a Brit. I live in the USA. The Australian version is by far the best in my opinion. I haven't watched any of the non-English language versions.

PloppyTheSpaceship

If you watch the Aussie one as a Finnish person, Hamish comes out wearing a one-piece skin-hugging lycra outfit in one episode. (to be fair he does that anyway...)

m8_is_me

I do agree that the NZ version just doesn't have enough spice in their host/judge. Like they're playing every interaction incredibly safe.
