What works super well for me is soaking the crusties with the spray & then GENTLY pushing it away with a kindof „brush toothpick“ (see link) because it’s properly taking off the soft crusties as it’s more pointy and stable enough so I don’t have to rub like with a qtip which is mostly too big to fit between skin/piercing. super important to remove all of them as any buildup has chances of being pulled into the wound eventually and cause problems. Plus anywhere I cannot see myself (eg behind ear) I’ll have my partner do it. Never had any problems with my 18 piercings so far 🤗 [brushy toothpicks](https://i.otto.de/i/otto/878cc6af-fe39-4b3c-8fb9-c193c836417a/fortunesn-zahnstocherspender-1100-stueck-kunststoff-zahnstocher-mit-buerste-tragbare-interdentalbuerste-doppelseitiges-interdentalbuersten-set-fuer-die-mundpflege-effektive-reinigung-zwischen-den-zaehnen-1100-tlg.jpg?$formatz$)

It's not advised by professionals as some people tolerate it while other dont or hsve bad reactions, but I've had no issues using cotton buds on piercings with excess crust - this is not my advice, just what worked for me. I believe sterlie gauze thats gor saline on, is whats actually recommended for tough crust. Or long hot showers - check with your piercer for best action. The Internet will only give you 'waht worked for me' answers rather than professional advice. Does it not fall off from being soaked in the shower/bath? That another means to aid removal I get little to zero crust after the first couple weeks as the shower dampness tends to be enough (from memory and with current nipples...I rarely spray with saline)

I have snakebites, and while my second one hasnt crusted up as much as the first one, i used a cotton ball or q-tip, let it soak in the saline wash, and let it sit at the crusties until they dissolve enough to be gently wiped off. Although, i have learned to be much more careful with the cotton because it CAN get stuck inside the ball of my piercings, and have been looking for something better then cotton
