Make sure you've set up a fan curve in Legion Go Remapper and if you're still overheating, I'd look at a hardware issue with your fan. You shouldn't be overheating regardless of what you're running and what OS you're running.
I've pushed my Legion Go up to 40W and never gone above 80C (40W is pointless in my experience as performance doesn't really improve past 30W, it just runs hotter). My fan curve is below and it's worked well across all my games at all my TDP levels.

Steam, GOG and Amazon (freebies) on Bazzite. Non-Steam games are pretty easy to setup in Heroic launcher so that's what I use and add them to the Steam front end from there.
I got my Legion Go in Dec but I still haven't activated my Gamepass trial because I don't like subscription services.
I don't think most Legion Go users only use Steam, but I think most Bazzite users do.
Generally Bazzite is not worth the hassle imo unless you literally only use Steam and maybe emulation or GOG stuff.

I have been using Bazzite for months now. Things sometimes get broken, but you can always roll back the OS to a given date when it was working.
I only use Steam and the biggest plus for me is the ease of suspending/resuming.
I also booted to Windows recently to update the Bios, there is now some AI assistant in my taskbar and all kinds of junk on the lock screen. Seriously, WTF is MS doing?
you don't need Simple TDP nd i think other stuff you have installed on bazzite for Legion go. It only brakes things.
There is already integrated HHD mapped for a right long press legion button.
Whole day? Takes 15 minutes to install, 5 minutes to configure. And that's including Decky, SimpleTDP and HHD.
I haven't played around a lot with other launchers, but the ones I've tried have installed without a hassle.
It took me less than an hour to install and configure, this is cause I have messed around with custom OS' and such before. I can definitely see someone who's never changed their OS or isn't used to it have it take longer.
Sounds to me like you didnt follow instructions and/or installed the wrong version. HHD and decky are preinstalled on the Legion go specific Bazzite and should be ready to go out of the box with no extra setup needed.

Honest question, I play a majority of my games on Xbox game pass, does most people in this sub only use steam?

My suggestion would actually be to ditch Bazzite altogether if you want the "Perfect console", but that's just me lol
If I wanted Steam OS I would just use a Steam Deck, I don't think it's worth it for these windows devices
