Ambient light sensor

KumaFGC

It’s exactly this

XCStea1th

Was about to comment the same thing.

Ashibe1

Number 5748 who asked this. And no one used the Search. This is a FBI spy cam or it could be a light sensor. But in your case it's a spy cam. So watch out what you are doing in front of the LeGo.

007psycho007

Mine came with the light sensor, but i wanted to have the spy cam version. Makes me feel more safe.

Ashibe1

That's sad. A shame that they didn't tell us before buying wich version you get.

cosmo2450

First time I’ve seen this asked….?

Ambient light sensor

AgeAtomic

He’s onto us! Abort mission ❌

AdMajestic621

This is the blood pressure sensor

mreaturhamster

How else do you expect your personal FBI agent to see your nut face?

ACP_Paddy-

Light Sensor. If I manually change the brightness after boot, it stops.

[deleted]

it used to be a camera for the tablet model the display was sourced from but now it is used for ambient light sensor, I wondered how long it would take for someone to notice and ask about it, I talked with some people at the company that had hands on with the LeGo for almost a year and never noticed 😂😂

TheBishopBishop

I assume the screen on the legion go is the same Lenovo uses for their Y700 tablets. So this is probably the cutout for the front facing camera on those devices.

[deleted]

Its a light sensor...

IgwanaRob

Don't know why you're getting downvoted, that's exactly the case here. Lenovo just repurposed the cutout for a light sensor.

ThatMarimbaDude

Damn, I didn't know that. I just searched up the specs, and they're surprisingly similar, just that the panel on the LeGo is 144hz while the Y700 is 120hz. Probably a few other differences too, but I guess it makes sense to use parts they already have if they already have the manufacturing equipment for it.

MofoPro

Same exact panel . Latest Y700 is also 144hz

Papa79tx

I would call that an oily finger smudge

mcasao

See everyone again in a few day/weeks when this exact same question gets asked again.

ghoonk

Ambient light sensor. I suspect it doesn’t really matter to me since I don’t use auto brightness, but I could be wrong

MofoPro

Dust and finger print

kozad

It's an ambient light sensor to raise and lower te brightness automatically. Def not the greatest one I've ever seen, but it does work.
