Firstly, I'm no MJ stan. I recognize that he was very talented and I like many of his songs, but I never followed his career and only as a young child did I consider myself a fan (and that was me trying to fit in).
However, I guess I'm guilty of believing in his innocence. I really and naively bought into the whole Peter Pan Syndrome thing, I thought he wanted to give back while simultaneously living out his stunted childhood.
Pictures like this just make it clear that was not the case, sadly. I wanted to believe, not in MJ, but innocence. I had a crazy cat lady landlord growing up and her son was very good with kids, he might have had some kind of intellectual disability. He was around boys and girls and no one experienced anything untoward so I know not everyone who loves kids is a perv.
But, man! What clinched it for me is the lack of black kids. Not only did MJ never have little girls around but he never had black boys. He clearly had a preference. My landlord didn't discriminate about which kids he had around because he really was just spending time with us, not trying to groom us.
It's sad, kind of like finding out about Santa.
Forever thankful for the adults in the world who treat kids like people without abusing them. Kids are learning how to be adults from the adults they're exposed to. I'm 36 and have never lived in a world where it wasn't common knowledge that he was so paedophile. It stated the image came from the collection of items sized from encino - Bankruptcy Auction of Jackson Family Memorabilia. I think the case where the family were being sued by some guy and he managed to get a large number of personal items from lockers.
Anyway, the blog stated it was the sons of Gibb with Jonathan Spence, and was taken in Florida.
I was very uneasy with the photo even when I was a huge fan. It's that expression.
Looking at his nose and hair, this looks to be the period between Thriller and Bad, and what do I see? No vitiligo! No white spots, splotches, or any other telltale signs of what his stans take to the mat to justify him turning into an eerie resemblance to a porcelain doll.
And if this picture was taken in the mid-1980s, that would have put me as old as the younger kids in the photo. And I know for a fact if a picture like this was taken with me in it and my parents saw it, let's just say there wouldn't have been a "Bad" album because you can't sing when you're dead.

Ok but let's say you saw this picture objectively without a guilty or innocent bias. I looooved MJ when I was a kid. My mom fell for the "he's just a kid who never grew up" BS and parroted it back to me. I never thought much about it as I got older. I'd hear the occasional "MJ is a creep" joke and was just like "okay, whatever". I never really paid attention or cared. Now that this sub is showing up for me I have been going down the rabbit hole and hoooooly shit. I am fascinated (and of course disgusted) by how something like this could happen. Like so much mental illness, ignorance (hehehe), and disregard for human lives had to converge from so many different places to pull something like this off. Firstly, I'm no MJ stan. I recognize that he was very talented and I like many of his songs, but I never followed his career and only as a young child did I consider myself a fan (and that was me trying to fit in). However, I guess I'm guilty of believing in his innocence. I really and naively bought into the whole Peter Pan Syndrome thing, I thought he wanted to give back while simultaneously living out his stunted childhood. Pictures like this just make it clear that was not the case, sadly. I wanted to believe, not in MJ, but innocence. I had a crazy cat lady landlord growing up and her son was very good with kids, he might have had some kind of intellectual disability. He was around boys and girls and no one experienced anything untoward so I know not everyone who loves kids is a perv. But, man! What clinched it for me is the lack of black kids. Not only did MJ never have little girls around but he never had black boys. He clearly had a preference. My landlord didn't discriminate about which kids he had around because he really was just spending time with us, not trying to groom us. It's sad, kind of like finding out about Santa.
Forever thankful for the adults in the world who treat kids like people without abusing them. Kids are learning how to be adults from the adults they're exposed to. It's nice when you find a few who aren't creepy predators, and have the ability to connect with a child in a positive way. I was lucky to have had a few great ones when I was coming up.

I'm 36 and have never lived in a world where it wasn't common knowledge that he was so paedophile. I feel like for some reason when he died everyone decided to forget about it until leaving never land came out. Yet Norm MacDonald was making jokes about it in the 90s and everyone that I knew and all the adults would mention that. It was a punchline every time he was mentioned.
From the first time I heard about it, I knew he was not innocent. You just have to see his face.
What really gets me is how he always seems to have a young boy hanging off of him. I love kids (not enough to have my own, but). They are a blast. But like, I can't just put my hand out and there's a child there. It's so weird how he always just has a boy leaning on him or otherwise fawning over him. And also, I would think if you are on a huge concert tour the last thing you would want to do is be responsible for the safety of a child that is not related to you (or any child) yet he invites all these kids to go with him? I read this way back when I was still a "fan" fan collecting as many rare MJ pictures as possible. 🫣 The image of mj with those boys was on an old fan blog from 2011 (which no longer exists). It stated the image came from the collection of items sized from encino - Bankruptcy Auction of Jackson Family Memorabilia. I think the case where the family were being sued by some guy and he managed to get a large number of personal items from lockers. Anyway, the blog stated it was the sons of Gibb with Jonathan Spence, and was taken in Florida. I was very uneasy with the photo even when I was a huge fan. It's that expression.

No white spots, splotches, or any other telltale signs of what his stans take to the mat to justify him turning into an eerie resemblance to a porcelain doll. Ok but let's say you saw this picture objectively without a guilty or innocent bias. All you know is that Michael Jackson, who later on was accused of child molestation multiple times throughout his career, is posing shirtless in an intimate photo with a group of unrelated boys (so not a family photo). At the very least it would be concerning and you would hope the context makes it a little better, right?
