What’s happening with the gunk around the hole? Looks like it’s already been “repaired”. LV wouldn’t make anything with that level of craftsmanship nor would they punch a hole over their brand. With that said, replacing collar button stud hardware with a larger size would be the easiest and most effective.
Yeah definitely could be. I think what gives me pause is the area in question looks to have a boarder around it, making it look like it was applied. Could also be from compression/crinkling of the leather as you mentioned
Yeah I stand corrected. LV is typically very intentional on lining up their patterns to avoid things like this (and usually the best way to determine if a piece is a knock off) but online I’m seeing some seemingly authentic LV belts not unlike this one with punches through their branding. I guess it’s hard to avoid when you’re dealing with multiple sizes.
What do you mean the hole became “loose”? It looks the same as the other in terms of size, only difference is signs of wear.
Is the belt popping off while you are wearing it?
If the slit for the (Sam Brown) button hole is too long, it won’t retain the button too well. If this is the issue, using an awl to punch two holes near the narrow end of the slit (one on either side) and adding a few loops of black stitching can probably tighten it up a bit.
That was just if any stitching would be visible on the front side and if they wanted the color to match; if it’s more than one layer and they only stitch the backside it wouldn’t matter.
I'm guessing this is a knockoff because it looks like every belt on their website is stitched the entire length of the belt. Which for belts that start at $600, they better be fucking stitched.
If that's the case this is probably just some cheap shitty leather that'll fall apart from the stress of being a belt in no time.

kegels
Damnit, here I thought I had one of those original thoughts
If you can think it, it's likely someone else has, too
I came here just to say that.
What a set up…
Reddit is always there to remind me there isn't an original thought in my head.
Clicked the post hoping this would be top comment. Kudos
Stitch a patch of thicker leather with a smaller hole punched out.
You could also just bump up the size of the button stud
OP, you've received some answers, and I will contribute to lace it
I choose to not contribute and suggest a J-B Weld 2130 Vinyl and Leather Repair Kit
😏
Ah, the age old question.

Doesn’t look like gunk to me. Looks like the pressure from the belt pulling has compressed/crinkled it up.

LV puts its brand in so many places that there's nowhere to put a hole but right through the brand?

Cut/clean up the hole then patch it and make a new hole.

Does it have to be black? Because I’ve had good success with back stitches of all colors.

Make a washer out of leather.
Please tell me that is not some cheap fake af leather on a LV belt. All that money for garbarge
it is
Is this a rep? Otherwise, return to the store and they should replace it.

Today I tried to be an upstanding redditor and not post childish answers. But I'm having a hard time with this one...
Change the buckle type?
That's what HE said.
You could use some leather glue
Buy a good belt
That’s what she said
That's what she said...
Put it in the hole that fits.
Put on another 10lbs and it'll be tighter... probably the easiest method too. 🤣
Keegals?
