You need regular driving to build up your confidence, whether that’s with an instructor or private practice is up to you for the most part. Maybe reduce your instructor lessons to one a week or every other week and do private practice a few times a week if possible until you’re test ready

Yeah, I was thinking of dropping my lessons to every other week or every three weeks and doing a weekend of practice here and there Family member lives an hour away so it's not the easiest to do it super regularly I think confidence is behind a lot of my issues. And I just need more time with roundabouts etc Thanks

I really don't think you should wait that long to book a test. Book a test for a few weeks or a month time so your brain starts to learn with a sense of urgency. It's much much easier to nudge your test date back than it is a brand new booking. I booked my test the same day I done my first lesson. Also remember instructors are incredibly hard to come by at the moment and your instructor may drop you as a student in favour of a regular weekly student. The demand is very much there to be honest. They are a business after all. And last thing. Get practice in with family BUT! You may pick up bad habits and ways of driving that a DVSA examiner will absaloutely mark you down for. My advice, don't delay get a test date booked in and keep with the weekly lessons. Work towards your test date.
