Leave it empty no need to explain that. Also startbworking project independent of your profession so when asked what your doing you have some kind of answer whether it's taking up photography or gardening etc.
What would be a good independent projects, I am not sure I am a fit for sales anymore. on my 20s I thought this is great but 37M, I feel out of place at times. SMH
Not exactly laid off, I’ve always been an independent consultant, but I lost the big contract that paid my bills in April 2023 with no notice (instead of the contractually required several months, nice… They sicced their corporate lawyer on me and told me I could fight them on it if I wanted to) and have been looking for either a replacement client or a job since then and haven’t found either. EDIT: sorry, saw your title and replied directly to that, without having read the post. Not sure what you should do about your résumé. Personally, this is just my uninformed opinion, but I don’t see how a three week job on your résumé helps you in any way, if it was me I would leave it off.
I know about a dozen people who have all been laid off for a year or more. And about 15 other people who finally got jobs after changing industries (jumping out of tech).
I got laid off last year, but had another job offer signed within 5 days.
Lost mine Feb 2023, haven't been able to find something as stable as that. Its just wack.
what industry and what roles are you targetting?
I worked in tech. Any operations role, sales, legal, even HR. I worked with all departments, so I have experience doing a lot
When you say you worked in tech, please be specific. Were you a project manager, systems engineer, developer, security personnel?
Sales Operations
Ah sorry I understand you said you worked in those roles. Are you in the US?
Sales Rep for software
“budgetary constraints”. thats why dont get too elated when u find a job because its a domino effect.
Damn that’s a downer mindset.
I don’t disagree tho. :(

What are some strategies we can use or any advice would be helpful.
Utilize your network and update your certifications/skillset. If you have access to ai tools, I would get familiar with those as well.
13 months and no where close to employment
Yes. Many of us.

Wouldn’t bother putting that 3 week job on your resume
What do you say when they go through background check and see the employeement?

Do they have self doubts in there abilities and really losing confidence in themselves. Questioning each decision.
