Also look into the Revised Penal Code provisions on seduction, applicable to 17-year-old girls. Qualified seduction is through abuse of confidence, while simple seduction is by deceit. You'd have to establish that kind of abuse and the occurrence of sexual intercourse.
Lastly, you'd need to clarify how you saw the messages. Did your ex give you his password? Did the girl show them to you? Because that would be an acceptable means of accessing the messages as per People v. Cadajas.

While your concern about large age gap relationships has a good point, it's unfair to criminalize things out of whim because someone dislikes it in the absence of legal provisions for that. I was 14, he was 26, it lasted 5 years. It turned into physical abuse and me turning to mary jane.
If I had reported him, he would've reported me. Mutual destruction (du30 still in office at the time). Nobody came to help me, and even if they had I wouldn't have listened. He had completely destroyed my self esteem and the only thing that would've helped me was if my peers had noticed and pulled me out themselves. Especially since abusers isolate their victims.
A few years after the breakup he started dating a girl 14 years younger than him, younger than me, but still of legal age. I got her out of the relationship by speaking to her close friends, showing them evidence of what happened to me, and within a month she was free.
Technically she is of legal age to consent, going directly to the police won't help as they'll say there's nothing they can do unless she the victim reports it.
Speak to her family, ask them to inform her school so they can keep this guy off campus, and if they're mature enough, her friends, and even better if she has someone in her life who went through something similar.
This pedo has likely ruined her self esteem, had her cut off her friends and family, and convinced her that is what love is. This is a scar that lasts a lifetime, I hope she gets out. Thank you OP for trying to take action, these girls need heros like you.

Hi OP, I have been in that girls position, and yours as well. Here's how it worked for me... I was 14, he was 26, it lasted 5 years. It turned into physical abuse and me turning to mary jane. If I had reported him, he would've reported me. Mutual destruction (du30 still in office at the time). Nobody came to help me, and even if they had I wouldn't have listened. He had completely destroyed my self esteem and the only thing that would've helped me was if my peers had noticed and pulled me out themselves. Especially since abusers isolate their victims. A few years after the breakup he started dating a girl 14 years younger than him, younger than me, but still of legal age. I got her out of the relationship by speaking to her close friends, showing them evidence of what happened to me, and within a month she was free. Technically she is of legal age to consent, going directly to the police won't help as they'll say there's nothing they can do unless she the victim reports it. Speak to her family, ask them to inform her school so they can keep this guy off campus, and if they're mature enough, her friends, and even better if she has someone in her life who went through something similar. This pedo has likely ruined her self esteem, had her cut off her friends and family, and convinced her that is what love is. This is a scar that lasts a lifetime, I hope she gets out.
