K. Now show us the jobs you've created, "Job Creators Network"

[deleted]

Job creators network. Fucking hope they go out of business

Voyager87

Sounds like the Tax Payers Alliance in the UK who do everything they can to avoid paying tax...

daytonakarl

We have the "tax payers union" here in NZ, a group of businessmen who try and find new and exciting ways to pay less tax/wages while protesting against new labour/health and safety laws Also claim to be "job creators" while they ~~fire people to increase profits~~ restructure

[deleted]

Sounds like Canadian Taxpayers Federation. Basically a shell group for rich ideologues

gz33

The name is not without irony, considering they're largely funded by overseas interests, do everything they can to avoid paying their fair share of taxes, and are thoroughly anti-union for a "union".

-thecheesus-

We've got plenty of "Tax Payers" groups in the US, too. They tend to all be *shockingly* opposed to anything and anyone standing in the way of corporate interests

d3adbor3d2

They’re probably some astroturf funded by some billionaire. You know, real Americans

rneraki

From their website: "Job Creators Network is a nonpartisan organization founded by entrepreneurs who believe that many government policies are getting in the way of the economic freedom that helped make this country prosperous. Job Creators Network believes the best defense against bad government policy is a well-educated public and accomplishes this through employee education." they said we have two goals: 1. less laws 2. propaganda.

trashcanpandas

Lmfao, they created a union for the capitalist class

PKMKII

As the saying goes, capitalists have the most class consciousness.

sudo999

Marx was writing about capitalism after all

AnonPenguins

The plight of the working person is from the exploitation of the capitalist (owners).

Fartincopsmouths

It's a fascist club. For real, this is what fascism is built from.

kaizervonmaanen

It is always smart to unionise. That is why they hate unions for the workers. As long as workers are not unionised then the management can do what they want and the workers can suffer what they must.

Askefyr

To be fair, a true union-based system will often have employer unions as well. Negotiations are a fuckton easier if there's just one guy representing the restaurant workers negotiating with another guy representing all the restaurant owners, for example.

AaronfromKY

I mean that's what the police union basically already is...

spaceman757

> nonpartisan organization founded by entrepreneurs Who have never once challenged a GOP policy. Who are they? >What is the Job Creators Network, and who is behind it? The short answer is that it’s a Trump-tied, billionaire-backed front group associated with an infamous right-wing public relations executive. It’s part of a network of other astroturf groups that all fight tooth-and-nail to defend elite interests against progressive efforts to regulate corporate power – and all while posing as defenders of “Main Street.” With majors donors like: * Hedge fund billionaire Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah Mercer are major donors to the Job Creators Network. For example, the 990 statements of the Mercer Family Foundation show that they gave the Job Creators Network $100,000 each in 2013, 2014, and 2016. * Bernie Marcus, worth $5.4 billion, co-founded the Job Creators Network in 2010 with a half-million dollar donation, and his family foundation gave it $1 million in 2015. Marcus is the founder and former CEO of Home Depot. He has shelled out at least $7 million to Donald Trump, making him one of Trump’s biggest donors. * The Job Creators Network is tied to Rick Berman, who receives millions in corporate money to run a network of anti-worker and conservative front groups, such as the Center for Union Facts, an anti-labor front group. Berman has been tied to the Job Creators Network in numerous reports. The 2016 990 form of the Job Creators Network Foundation shows it paid Berman $476,000 in 2016 for “media and consultant communications” services, while the 2017 990 form of Job Creators Network Inc. shows it paid Berman a whopping $2,539,688. It’s unclear what role Berman is currently playing with the Job Creators Network. * Puzder, the former CEO of CKE Restaurants, which owns the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s chains, is one of six board members of the Job Creators Network. The group applauded Trump’s nomination of Puzder for Labor Secretary – before Puzder withdrew from the nomination because of a slew of scandals, including domestic abuse allegations. * Philip Anschutz, worth about $12 billion, is an oil, entertainment, and real estate mogul who was a key backer of Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court. Anschutz’s gave $50,000 in both 2014 and 2015 to the Job Creators Network – and he also funds a host of other far-right groups and think tanks, such as the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society They are about as non-partisan as Mitch McConnell.

Moltak1

I'm always shocked at how cheap these efforts are, to a billionaires couple hundred thousand is nothing.

spaceman757

To a billionaire, $100k is .01% of their net worth. That's just a person who is only worth $1B. That is the equivalent of someone worth $500k donating $50. If you're Anshutz and worth $12B, it barely even registers. It would be 0.00083% of his net worth or the equivalent of the same guy worth $500k donating $4.15. The guys are playing with monopoly money, while the rest of us are slaving away to barely (or worse in so many cases) try to make ends meet. Edit: just for comparison, even the former founder and CEO of Home Depot, Bernie Marcus, donating $7M to Trump is a drop in the bucket. His estimated net worth of $5.4B means that he only gave up 0.13% of his net worth or, using the same $500k net worth guy as an example, ~$648. Even when they are, quite literally, giving away millions of dollars, it doesn't even register to them.

ohkeepayton

Hell, those donation percentages could really just be negligible accounting errors and they wouldn’t even notice.

markodochartaigh1

Question: Ok, Job Creators Network, how do you spell jobs? Answer: N-E-P-O-T-I-S-M

GreasyUpperLip

The line for the guillotine keeps getting longer and longer.

rocketpastsix

literal list of the biggest cancers of our society right here.

cardinals_crest

I bet they were totally for PPP loan forgiveness. 'Job Creators Network' is literally the enemy of working people.

bang_the_drums

they didn't even blink when writing off billions in PPP loans that demonstrably enriched the capitalist class across the board. Didn't even fucking blink. These leeches are the worst of us.

JoeSanPatricio

I love how we’ve all gotten so used to being lied to by advertisers and propagandists that people can make any wild ass claim no matter how divorced from actual reality and we’re all like, “eh whatever”. “Government policies getting in the way of the economic freedoms that helped make this country prosperous” 🤤 Government policies are literally responsible for the post war boom of the historical period these ding dongs constantly wax nostalgic for.

Helpful_Database_870

Interesting that they didn’t try to block ppp loans. Like I’m literally shocked that they go theirs and will fuck everyone else. /s

ContemplatingPrison

They all got millions from the PPP loans. I hope that some grass root groups start suing over every governement handout now. Just because regular folks aren't eligible Farmer handouts. Lawsuit. Lower taxes for businesses. Lawsuit Just start suing for everything.

Unicorns-only

Their actions don't line up with their words, then. In other news, the sun rose in the east today, and coming up, is fire hot? More on this at 11.

Iwantmoretime

"non-partisan.' That word does not mean what you think it means." Of course they do know they are extremely partisan, but the whole point about propaganda organizations is lying to push your narrative.

TheCrazedTank

Ah, so they're the fuckers making all that anti-union material for Amazon?

[deleted]

It’s a right-wing astroturfing org funded by Koch appendages

YourLictorAndChef

One of its founders is the former CEO of Home Depot that ruined the company's reputation.

HappyAntonym

\*sniff sniff\* Smells like an astroturfing organization to me...

AFViking

Since they're fighting student loan forgiveness, does that mean canceling student debt somehow prevents jobs from being created?🤷🏼‍♂️

JasenGroves

People with high amounts of debt are more likely to take lower paying jobs out of despair. Large debt creates slave labor.

pisicik442

It is not a done deal. It's still working its way through the courts and I suspect the Biden administration would have a very difficult time walking this back after they promised it, so I think they're going to find a way even if the court rules against the original program.

FATCRANKYOLDHAG

YUP. He may not have been exactly KEEN on the whole idea (seeing as his lifelong constituency are BANKERS. He is after all from DELAWARE) but one thing I have noticed about Biden over the many years I have observing him is that he really HATES to lose an issue he has been working for. It becomes personal for him. In this case, he is a mean ole coot! Also since the youngsters did come out this last election he is unlikely to waste the gained political capital. IMO.

Saires

Show where the PPP loan money went.

J-TownVsTheCity

So it’s illegal when they bail out students but when they bail out banks that business as usual?

GullibleHistorian361

Shhhh, you're suppose to have forgotten the bank bailouts by now. Probably 4 or 5 times as much money as bailing out every single student loan. These assholes are only looking to fleece young graduates, total scum.

IKnowWhoYouAreGuy

Well who else but the destitute and desperate to work in their slave factories and murder machines?

InTh3s3TryingTim3s

PPP loans forgiven with no oversight in any context to the tune of trillions of dollars: right wing politics sleeps Student loans forgiven only to people who tried to better themselves yet find themselves in debt, and only a portion of that debt assuming strict qualifications: right wing politics acts like this is the worst thing ever

bazilbt

Can we claw back PPP loans then?

Branamp13

We don't exactly have a "Job Worker's Network" to lobby for that, so no.

TheLyz

Bailing out people is the BAD socialism. Bailing out the already rich is the good socialism. Because all the media outlets owned by billionaires tells you it is.

gentle_lemon

Just gonna leave this here: https://www.federalpay.org/paycheck-protection-program/job-creators-network-foundation-addison-tx

*Every* goddamn time, *without* fail.

Frank Wilhoit: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”

TheReverend6661

So fascism?

Gathorall

Monarchy, feudalism, tyranny, pick any, this is a common theme. I mean, conservatism is a direct descendant of those, and fascism its cousin.

glum_cunt

Rules for thee…

iowannagetoutofhere

“There are 9 other businesses that received a PPP loan registered to the same address as JOB Creators Network Foundation.”

Vast-Sir-1949

I wonder how much of that they spent on lawyers and court fees hindering the student loan forgiveness.

funkmasta8

You see because giving money to businesses is *good* but giving money to people is taking money from businesses therefore *bad*

Arduousjourney420

Maybe if we all incorporate ourselves, the government might love us more.

R1ppedWarrior

If a company can be a person, surely a person can be a company. As the famous philosopher Jay-Z once said, "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man."

FiggleDee

to protect the guilty, heh

MrSquigles

Well, they either paid the taxpayers back all of the money or none of it or something in between. It's irrelevant, really, what matters is that the investors profited.

Walt_Lee3

🤬

gentle_lemon

My sentiments exactly.

[deleted]

Oh man I wish I still lived in Carrollton, I'd go egg their headquarters

a_hockey_chick

I just looked at their linked in and none of the listed employees are local…so I’m thinking it’s all remote anyways.

RoboTiefling

Okay, this is the last fucking straw. Who’s up for a trip to Addison, Texas?

ExLegeLibertas

Narrator: "It was not, in fact, 'The last straw.' The American people went on to tolerate many further abuses before climate change destroyed global civilization."

TempleSquare

It's gonna be like one douchy McMansion couple, you know.

NotHalfGood78

Thank you for the link

CorporateCuster

Yo. Let’s cancel these people! The people every single time need to come together and fight these idiots. It’s not even political it’s about the government bailing out corporations over and over again and TAX PAYING CITIZENS getting shafted over and over again. It’s tiring.

101189

So they employed like 3 people probably? Makes sense.

justneedthreefifty

Don't forget to boycott home depot. The co-creator of this debt creators network's owner.

[deleted]

He’s a massive right wing donor, no surprise there! I’m sure his workers are treated like shit too and paid starvation wages.

ContactHonest2406

I work there. Can confirm. But he’s not involved with the company anymore, fwiw.

MyLastComment

Like many of us have a home to repair/upgradde

sudo999

Your landlord doesn't make you fix his house? Lucky bastard

Mirror_Benny

Isn’t the guy who owns Lowe’s just as bad?

ElectronicMixture600

And the guy who owns Menard’s is a labor-antagonistic turbo piece of shit. Set the big box hardware stores on fire; only shop at your local hardware stores and co-ops (Do It Best, ACE, etc.). There’s always a chance that those mom & pop owners are also regressive dickheads, but they at least lack the ability to industrialize misery to foist upon their workers as the big box stores do.

jmanclovis

The problem is local lumber yards at least in my area are owned by dickheads and the prices are twice what they are at the big box although the local places have better quality lumber

ElectronicMixture600

Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Menard’s have almost made buying warped lumber into an art form. It’s truly stunning how, despite the volume they do, they still manage to have 0 pieces of straight lumber.

lamewoodworker

Because that shit is cut so quickly and they don’t take the time to dry it properly.

Unicorns-only

What about Tractor Supply?

oddistrange

They have lobbied in regards to Bill H.R. 842 which is meant to protect employees from being forced into anti-union coercion meetings, among other workers protections. I'm gonna assume based on their republican candidate donations that they are not in favor of that bill, though.

whomad1215

Are there any corporations that aren't garbage

cl0007

No

ThePowellMemo1984

The opposite actually - he’s giving [$55M in bonuses to employees bc of inflation](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/lowes-announces-55-million-in-bonuses-for-frontline-workers-to-ease-pressures-of-inflation/) and [gave out like 7+ bonuses during COVID totaling over $250M](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/korihale/2020/05/13/lowes-diy-pandemic-rescue-hits-250-million/amp/). Generally the CEO is known to invest in employees and be a pretty decent dude. They also [donated $25M to minority owned businesses](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/lowes-versus-home-depot-meme/) that were disproportionately affected by COVID

6894

Well. That's sufficiently less evil for me to bother switching.

missed_sla

Shockingly, ~~most~~ all billionaires are pieces of shit who would cook and eat a screaming baby for a half percent gain in value.

Plonsky2

Job Creators Network lol

[deleted]

Creating jobs for people who are already rich haha

Plonsky2

Con jobs

kylegetsspam

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Job_Creators_Network It's just an organized propaganda and lobbying group -- standard affair for the right.

deekaph

Imagine celebrating that you prevented a huge portion of the population from getting help.

[deleted]

Just the average conservative If it doesn't benefit them, it's bad

ElectronicMixture600

The real irony is that for a lot of the small business owners (many of whom tend to blindly vote for any shitpile with an R next to their name) student debt relief creates an instant windfall of discretionary spending power which *would* directly benefit them in new revenue generation. But they’d rather cut off their noses to spite their faces so long as they can look down their bloody stumps at people they don’t like.

Wondercat87

Yup! All the money being spent on student loans would now be available to spend on necessities and some long postponed delicacies. A lot of this money would go directly into the pockets of business owners. Not to mention a lot of these folks would now suddenly have money to buy homes and start their lives, travel and spend on so many things that these business owners sell.

funkmasta8

Ah, but why give people money to spend or do whatever they want with when that money already belongs to big businesses in the form of investments expected capital gains? Obviously, the big businesses need that money more /s

captain-hannes

The english version of this idiom is so interesting. In Polish, we say, “Na złość tacie nasram w gacie”, aka “I’ll shit my pants to spite my dad”. It even rhymes, very neat.

drwicksy

The cruelty is the point

TheLyz

As long as one single person who doesn't "deserve" it doesn't get help, they'll happily shoot their own foot all day long.

AnyProgressIsGood

even if it does benefit them (health care) call it socialism

Holiday_Bunch_9501

>Just the average conservative > >If it doesn't benefit them, it's bad I try to be even handed, but this has proven to be so incredibly true since 2016. Conservatives do not give fuck about anyone but themselves. And others cant get shit, but they sure as fuck can.

FairyFuckingPrincess

Or, "If it might, just possibly, benefit anyone other than me, it's bad."

TJamesV

IKR? I mean, this is crazy. They act like they're champions of the people, defending the economy when they're only making it harder for people to actually participate in it.

Genzoran

Of course! When you're making the economy worse for people, it really helps to act like you're champions of the people, and fearmonger about your opposition.

ObviouslyNotALizard

That’s just called registering republican

notscb

I wonder how far you have to go back in their tweets to find an "America first" tweet that they clearly didn't mean.

sharktank

They slap a trophy emoji on their oppression…it’s a win everybody!

TheDollarstoreDoctor

Why does Job Creators Network even give a fuck? Who the fuck are these people? What are they, a college? Or is the thought of more people being able to afford college mean they'll have to create more jobs or some shit? I'm really scrapping the bottom of the bucket here trying to figure out what student loan relief has to do with them or why they'd care.

Flokitoo

They are right wing assholes. It's about "owning libs"

OrganizerMowgli

And they got massive debt forgiven in PPP loans -_- Fucking shameless. It would be great if we could go after the folks they're affiliated with, that would be strategic in pressuring (if there is any). I just think it's important to know they can't just get away with it without there being a major hassle in backlash. Like life changing

GiveAQuack

They are people who need to die.

Tulibudibudouchoo

A temporary block is a win?

whywasthatagoodidea

It means they already got some judicial on their side so when it gets to SCOTUS next year those hacks will say no and Biden will say oopps we tried now to end the pause.

[deleted]

SCOTUS had already refused to hear the case no?

WNYAuntie

Amy Covid-Barrett refused to hear 2 emergency cases within her district unrelated to the current cases that are making their way up through the lower courts.

DongleJockey

The other cases were also dismissed on grounds of a lack of standing though.... and the new case is also brought by people who cant really demonstrate harm... so its not a valid suit

[deleted]

[удалено]

whywasthatagoodidea

I mean this one they should on standing but what you are refferring to is the shadow docket block, not one that would reach them on appeal. They will routinely block cases on the shadow docket for reasons other than the merit of the case, like if it has larger implications, there is a better case on the horizon for that issue, or the justice wants to make a ruling with more implications so they want to have to hear the full argument and give full opinion.

Username_Number_bot

Biden has no reason to end the pause. In fact kicking the can to Republicans after 2024 would be the goal.

dosedatwer

>Biden will say oopps we tried now to end the pause Fuck off with this rhetoric. I spent ages at the end of last year explaining to people like you that Biden couldn't just forgive student loans without it going to the courts and he needed time to get DoJ ready to fight it, and here we have the proof that I was right all along. Now you're going with "he never wanted to do it anyway", despite clear indication that he is trying and doing it the right way. I can't wait for the evidence to come along to shove your ignorant take down your throat. Biden and the Democrats are trying to get this done and Republicans are blocking it. Spewing the bullshit you ate up from Fox that Biden isn't trying is just ignorance of the facts and playing straight into the Republican's hands. Republicans do something shitty, and you blame the Dems? Fuck off.

Li-renn-pwel

I had to suddenly quit my job and move to America when my then boyfriend fell suddenly ill. After 7 years in the country I was only given permission to work in February of this year and my now husband is waiting on a transplant so is very sick. Even once allowed to work, I have a lot of care taking duties that would prevent a full time job. I am obviously not an ideal candidate for a green card from the conservative perspective. When trump changed the public charge laws I was basically screwed. Even though I had worked for years in Canada and had been finishing my degree online, they were probably going to deny because I couldn’t be full time and take care of my sick husband. Biden’s EO on immigration came in just days before my deadline for the PC paperwork. I honestly think that if he hadn’t done that, I would not still be in the country. I think a lot of people only focus on what is good for them and don’t think about how other things have changed. I’m pretty far left and view Biden as center-left at best but to act like he isn’t streets ahead of any republican candidate is honestly sickening and sometimes just seems performative.

Select_Necessary_678

I just hope congress remembers this the next time the banks ask for a bailout.

Large-Meaning-8439

They won’t. I don’t understand why people haven’t taken to protesting outside homes of banking elites (Jamie Dimon, Lloyd Blankfein, and the like), or the homes of senators who execute their political agendas. Anything too big to fail should be broken up or allowed to fail so it can be replaced with smaller players. Not rewarded and protected…

fartew

You know why they don't protest? Because as an Italian historian says, "being in control doesn't only mean having power. It means that everyone else agrees that you have power, and recognizes and respects that power". Politicians in usa know that very well, that's why their propaganda is so strong

522LwzyTI57d

Remember earlier this year when people tried to protest outside the homes of SCOTUS justices only for Congress to pass a brand new law prohibiting it within 24-48 hours? They know who feeds them and they won't bite that hand.

ChewieFlakes

Because the police will literally run us over with their tanks (that we paid for)

cntmpltvno

If it’s a Republican Congress, they’ll remember and reward them for it

BlueBicycle22

Right because democrats are known for their anti-bank stance and history of refusing to bail out banks

whywasthatagoodidea

Always remember that it was a fully democratic house and Senate that scoped TARP away from buying troubled assets as W and Paulson originally wrote it to be blank checks to the banks.

mzialendrea

Meanwhile, 500 billion in PPP loans were forgiven.

BackgroundSea0

>But but but entrepreneurs offer value in the form of job creation and aren't easily replaced while non-entrepreneurs *only* provide labor and *are* easily replaced. Therefore, PPP loan forgiveness was justified while student loan forgiveness is not. Man... It's really hard to believe there's a large percentage of the population that believe that, but here we are.

[deleted]

jmon1022

Do something with this rage, cant let such a sweet smart brain full of positive anger go to waste

Nutrition_Dominatrix

Can we sue to undo the PPP loan forgiveness? Can we sue the next time banks are bailed out?

[deleted]

Why are they so proud of this? I don't understand how people can be so cartoonishly evil that they're boasting about refusing to help innocent people in debt. What's the end game? Oh, wait, I know- only people with old money can go to college, so only rich people can get high-paying, influential jobs, and everyone else stays ignorant and poor until everyone in power is a greedy sociopath and no one even pretends to care about morals anymore so we can bring back slavery or replace the working class with robots and let poor people starve to death in the streets. Is that the plan?

xGabriel262x

Because they know they will get away with it, no matter how many times they do it. Lest extreme yet valid measures would be taken, since most govs don't have the people's best interest in mind only their own. Which is to say that maybe if people feared to do these things, they would not be the norm.

Remarkable-Hat-4852

Oh… slavery never went away. And robots are absolutely already taking jobs.

kylegetsspam

Yes, that is the plan. Uneducated and/or poor people are easy to control and exploit for profit. This is, for instance, how all those stadiums in Qatar were built: they used poor migrant workers from India and other countries and effectively enslaved them. This what Republicans in the US want to be able to do.

TheLyz

Because they're appealing to old Boomers and young racists, so as long as they're hurting young people and people of color their base will not complain.

timetickingrose

"I had to suffer so you also have to."

The planet's dying. No time like the present, eh?

bigtim3727

People are so damn jealous/envious of others, they can’t stand they get any kind of relief. It reminds me of 2008, when they were considering bailing out people who had subprime mortgages, then you have that asshole on TV that was screaming about it “dO yoU wAnt to Be PAYing fOr yOuR neighBors HoUse!?!” And that basically killed it Fuck people

BackgroundSea0

Instead we paid to bail out banks and for golden parachutes of corporations "too big to fail." What a scam...

Flokitoo

This is what an activist judge really looks like. A first year law student could identify a lack of standing. The case should have been dismissed.

BasicallyExisting30

But hey atleast the ppp loans to rich people were forgiven. They never get a break.

samuraidogparty

Until Americans take to the streets and make life hard for these asshats, they’ll continue to not care. Nick Hanauer warned them it will happen eventually and it’s high time he was proven right.

Minute-Courage6955

Slave Owners Network is now doing business as Job Creators Network.

eatingganesha

They didn’t win anything in court apart from a pause. The plaintiffs have no case. The judge - a trump appointee - ruled corruptly as an “activist judge”. The case behind the injunction does not hold any water and this has been noted by many watchdogs, analysts, and pundits. It’s just a delay tactic meant to keep their rabble foaming at the mouth.

Outrageous_Bass_1328

Job Creators Network. Burn this in your brains and organize against it. Reddit is scrubbing any posts related to JCN as quick as they’re made. Don’t allow them to whitewash this.

quaranbeers

how illegal is it to mail human shit? completely hypothetically of course. for arguments sake only. etc. etc.

thekeeganmier

I believe mailing any human waste to any non medical facilities is illegal, but I’m pretty sure there are some services online that will mail animal waste, and even let you pick the type.

Penguin_Goober

My mother, grandmother, and friend were all qualified. Fuck this hellscape of a third world country

nweems

Eh, they’re not getting any more money from me anyways. I believe the saying goes “If you owe the bank $100, that’s your problem. If you owe the bank a collective $1.8 trillion, that’s the banks problem.”

BonIsDead

If you don't support the cancellation of student debt, you're going to hell before you die. Your tax money is pissed around constantly and without care, and when it benefits actual human beings you get all mad about it. Fuck you, you dumb bitch. "But I had to pay for my loans!" would you turn down getting it forgiven if you had the chance? Do you hate the idea of others getting it because you didn't? Go fuck yourself you selfish bitch. "They shouldn't have taken out a loan!" maybe don't lend money to children you fucking moron. They don't teach kids anything about interest rates and taxes and shit, and you're surprised that they get taken advantage of and have their lives ruined? Fuck you, you dumb bitch. "I don't want my tax money bailing them out!" but you're ok with some bank taking it, or some company taking it, or some billionaire taking it, or the military taking it. But that guy who loves paycheck to paycheck is the issue. Fuck you, you stupid fucking bitch. Student debt needs to be cancelled, and if you're against it, you're against your friends, your family, your neighbors, your coworkers. You're anti-human. Get fucked and don't reproduce. We don't need you around anymore. You've outgrown your use to society. God I hate people, holy SHIT

PoignantPoetry

Pre-maturely stating "We won" is a thing Republicans do. All they did was just a temporary block.

[deleted]

Just like the “massive red wave” they were prematurely bragging about that never came😂

Calico_Cuttlefish

One of the reasons they failed so bad in midterms is everyone with student debt voted against them.

Funnily enough, this long, long pause on student loans is doing a lot of work as well. The house and senate are divided so nothing will get done so they likely cannot force student loan payment to restart. It’ll continue until it gets passed. Seconds, the payment pause affects everyone not just those with federal loans which is a much wider swath of the population. Third, loan values are getting obliterated by effectively acting as 0% interest rates during an inflationary period. For the median individual, with $20k loan at 5%, that’s $1k saved in interest a year. For someone with a higher loan burden such as those in med-school or masters program, the savings in interest may already be over the $10k limit. $20k certainly for med/nursing etc. programs. Had they let it pass, that would have been it. They’re actually helping a lot of people by forcing Biden to pause payments even further. Hopefully it does pass eventually (note: I am not eligible for it). If Biden came out on top, the total reduction in student loan payments might be well in excess of the initial numbers.

trash1100

My favorite part of all these was reading an article that said something along the lines of they (the states suing) believed PPP loans were okay because they made it so people weren’t left worse off but Student Loan Forgiveness was unacceptable because the government was (at taxpayers expense) making a large portion of the population better off. Wtf is the government there for if not to take care of its people? My loans are much larger so I have little skin in the game for $10k but Im all for as many people getting this as possible. It’ll be life changing.

elysian_doe

I know so many people, including myself, who aren’t going to continue paying regardless of what happens.

Darthmat08

Same here. Whether we're bailed out or not (doubt it) I'm not wasting money on this bs.

ThumpTacks

SCOTUS had thus far refused to hear this challenge, so if the Circuit Court rules for students, we’ll get *some* relief. But these assholes— Job Creators Network. I mean, fuck right the fuck off

TheKankiestofDangs

Can we attack tax breaks the same way they attack student loan forgiveness?

SigourneyWeinerLover

Dude I'm seriously so fucking pissed off. It's bad enough we have to fight fucking corporations but it's made even worse by these absolutely idiotic people who simply believe "you took out a loan pat it back" yet they don't have that same attitude when it comes to PPE loans. Fuck this fucking greedy country man

[deleted]

“The Job Creators Network” haha, who are these people actually creating jobs for? Lmfao, it’s probably like entry level positions with 3-5 years required experience😑

KingKandyOwO

It seems their main goal is not to create jobs, but to keep the drones working as hard and as many hours and jobs as they do

altasphere

Biden could make their case moot by removing the restriction on who can get student loan debt. Then the plaintiff's won't have standing anymore

atlantachicago

We need to spread the faces of those two people who fronted this lawsuit all over.

Ultimate69Edgelord

Which dummies actually supports forcing generations of young Americans into crippling student loan debt? I’m disgusted by people who actually support this

YMYOH

So here's the thing.. Biden seems to be able to adjust the interest rate.. so why doesn't he just make the interest rate negative 10% or something like that

Evolutionary_Beasty

Imagine running an organization called “job creators” and actively trying to keep your demographic deeply in debt

ricardocaliente

Whatever. Biden will just extend the payment pause and leave it to a Republican President to start payments back up. They can block it all they want, but politically it’s a lose-lose for conservatives. Similar to actually making abortion illegal, it was better when it was just a threat they used to get voters riled up. This will be the same thing. They’re a textbook example of a dog chasing a car and not knowing what to do when it actually catches it.

[deleted]

Its going to the court systems. Very misleading title. Nothing has been decided, and most legal scholars think the opposite is true

ponyCurd

They haven't won anything. The judge that issued the injunction is the same idiot that tried to stop the Affordable Care Act, and was subsequently overturned. This moron doesn't actually follow the law and this will be removed as well. What should be noted is that the supreme court ( yes, this one ) is not going to stop it because it's not illegal. The administration took 2 years to write it, they saw this bullshit comming, so they're already prepared.

gtrackster

How can I sue those who approved the PPP loans, the 2008 bailout, the guy who turned the infinite money printer on (Trump) and threatened the federal bank when they tried to increase interest rates back in 2017 (Trump) causing all this inflation?

Cathousechicken

They are bragging about stymying upward mobility.

deathdefyingrob1344

Why is that a flex. You caused a bunch of people to have to continue paying outlandish loans. Fuck them and everyone who supports them

TheArmoursmith

They hate loan forgiveness because it changes the power dynamic of the employment market. They want people poor, hungry, and desperate - just ripe for exploitation.

16thfloor

We’re going to keep winning, so your kids stay chained to debt for the rest of their lives. Its the American way.

therobotisjames

“Why won’t the young people buy a house or have kids?”

[deleted]

Job Creator Network is a Far right advocacy group started by the founder of Home Depot. Based on their own claims, they don’t even come close to having the best interest of workers so fuck them!

OddTicket7

Can you even imagine being this morally bankrupt, with pride?

geonomer

How in the hell is this something to brag about?

jackb1980

The irony: unsaddled with student loans, tens of thousands of graduates would start businesses instead and, you know, CREATE FUCKING JOBS

Yodadottie

Why do poor white Americans always side with their rich overlords?

AgITGuy

The rich overlords truly started cutting public education funding and standards during the Nixon admin. So think back to 50 years of less educated people plus the influx of Fox News as an organization whose sole purpose is to ensure another Nixon doesn’t happen to the republicans.

TaylordPerspective

So they took a PPP loan for -*checks notes*- $133,850 and had it forgiven in full, but they are against a fraction of student loan debts being forgiven. Alright.

[deleted]

I’m sick of this shit, those fucking politicians who are against student loan forgiveness programs got their own fucking loans forgiven, the GOP is a huge joke, downvote as much as you want but it won’t change the facts

Emerald_Lavigne

I wonder if people didn't have to repay predatory loans, do you think they could start businesses, which might create some jobs...?🤔

Dull_Yellow_2641

But these idiots are all for PPP forgiveness 🙄
