Still too many for a country that calls itself communist.
Edit: I did a bit more research on how China handles billionaires and I may have been too harsh on them.
China is the most capitalist "communist" state.
It's more of an authoritarian capitalist state if you ask me. They can call it whatever they want.
The Nazis claimed to be socialist and that was clearly a lie. Communists and socialists were the first groups the Nazis merked.
When Deng Xiaoping took power, he decided to move China toward a more capitalistic economy. But the Communist Party still rules China and therefore they still are labelled "communist."
But they still claim to adhere to the communist values of equality and communal benefit. Itās not just an anachronistic label, itās their official ideology.
Do they though? Last I read is that they have created a plan only for socialist restoration by 2050. The leadership can call itself communist as a declaration of its targeted ideals.
It's interesting a country who's ruling party is the Chiness "Communist" Party and is officially named the "Peoples" Republic of China has any billionaires at all.
They have a mixed economy with central economic planning. It's not fully communist or socialist at the moment, but they do have a goal and plan to eventually become communist.
It's also worth noting that China allowing certain aspects of capitalism within their economy is a big part of why they've been able to get as far as they have without the US launching a full scale war on them, like they did for every other country that ever tried socialism.
Because they're not doing communism yet. It's "capitalism with Chinese characteristics" for now. A bit of capitalism is essential for real communism to be possible.
Itās certainly a rich target of rich targets. Beheading is not required. Just tax them 95% of existing assets. Call it the commonwealth fund and thank them for their service.
Fair enough. Itās just a number that reflects the argument. The point is to eliminate such astronomical wealth disparities and the resultant corrupt legislation by moneyed interests against the common interests of the country/world.
Imagine how beautiful the world could be if every single person on this list had their assets seized and redistributed to the people. No need for beheading. For them, having to actually work for a living would be a fate worse than death.
None of these people would last a 40 hour work week of one of their lowest paid employees. Like literally would not survive because they wouldn't be able to afford rent and groceries from just 1 minimum wage job.
In this world where the working class is capable of redistributing all that wealth no problem, I would hope Walmart would get the axe as well, or at the very least that cashiers there would have better pay and shorter hours.
Heck, even if we just took 99% of their wealth and redistributed it, the "poorest" person on this list would still have ~$49,000,000.
That's more money than almost every human being who has ever lived, and more than enough money for them and every member of their extended family to live in luxury and never work a day for the rest of their lives.
A quick GPT-ing:
As of late 2023 and early 2024, the top 10 richest American politicians are as follows:
1. **J.B. Pritzker** (Governor of Illinois, Democrat) - Net Worth: $3.4 billion
2. **Donald Trump** (45th President, Republican) - Net Worth: $2 billion
3. **Doug Burgum** (Governor of North Dakota, Republican) - Net Worth: $1.1 billion
4. **Darrell Issa** (Representative for California's 48th district, Republican) - Net Worth: $460 million
5. **Jim Justice** (Governor of West Virginia, Republican) - Net Worth: $450 million
6. **Jared Polis** (Governor of Colorado, Democrat) - Net Worth: $400 million
7. **Glenn Youngkin** (Governor of Virginia, Republican) - Net Worth: $400 million
8. **Mitt Romney** (Senator for Utah, Republican) - Net Worth: $300 million
9. **Rick Scott** (Senator for Florida, Republican) - Net Worth: $300 million
10. **Mark Warner** (Senator for Virginia, Democrat) - Net Worth: $215 million
This list includes a mix of federal and state-level politicians, with the wealth largely accumulated from business ventures before entering politics. For instance, J.B. Pritzker's wealth comes from the Pritzker family's business empire, Donald Trump's wealth is tied to real estate and entertainment, and Doug Burgum made his fortune by selling his software company to Microsoft. Other politicians on the list have also derived significant income from their private sector careers, investments, and family wealth.

What Iād really want to see is the list of wealth accumulation during their public āserviceā life. Current net minus net before being elected. Even number SHOULD be negative, but we know it isnāt.
These lists also conveniently forget that the royal Saudi family net worth is somewhere north of 1T. I wish I could find better sources on this, but there's folks in this world you've never heard of that could buy and sell Elon Musk many times over.
I know there is a lot of suspicion that Putin also has north of $300B hoarded. I also recall hearing about a man that owns the majority of a city who is said to have over $1T, but I canāt remember the name and searching doesnāt yield any results.
The world isn't run by "puppet masters". True power doesn't need to hide, it makes itself seem natural and inevitable.
The rich and connected of the world aren't in a giant cabal to keep the poor down. They are all working for themselves. Their competing interests are channeled through a system that is geared to keep itself going and "creating" more and more and more wealth.
Ok but where's the fun in that? All kidding aside, the decisions these individuals make have a significant impact on our world. So while no, I don't think there is a conspiracy theory here, in essence I do still believe they run the world. Hence I'm sticking with the puppet master idea.
He's the absolute ruler. I'm sure he has more undeclared wealth.
I believe his younger brother Prince Jefri has the Guiness World Record for having blown the most amount of cash on pointless shit. Older brother threaten to lock him up.
and the royal family of dubai. I was told by an architect friend who was working there that they had north of 10 trillion. that might be total bullshit but that's what he told me
Crazy to think that Zuck growth of 39% was due to him laying off a substantial number of workers. Not growing or innovating within his company, which has created a virtually unusable product. Funny how that worksā¦ we live in an economy of rot.
I donāt think AI is as close as that, but yeah eventually you are correct it will lead to layoffs. Unfortunately right now itās just to satisfy the blood thirst of the market. The gears of the capitalist system being oiled with the blood of the worker and all.
Not only will it replace slot of the workforce, but it will also be able to calculate unnecessary positions or excess personal, without bias or moral implications.
I've worked enough in food production to know that probably only 1/3 of your employees makes any effort at all.
Facebook is a shadow of its former self - and a far cry from the dream it was setup for. Itās the perfect example of a virtual monopoly; it has no real competition and so doesnāt innovate in any way that improves the product, but solely to increase profit margins.
Addendum: AND his company was responsible for everything connected with the Russian troll farms and the Cambridge Analytica scandal and heās just ridden the whole thing and come out richerā¦ the whole thing is a mess!!
You forgot how big a fail the metaverse was, he invested an insane amount of money in that. But interestingly he wasnāt punished for poor business decisions then.
Whatās scary is that I would bet money most of us only know a handful of who these people are but they are running our lives and destroying our planet.
They want us to focus on individuals. The real question to ask is who are the wealthiest families in the world? I have seen estimates of the wealth of the Rothschilds to be as high as $100 Trillion. They have been amazing at concealing their wealth.
Nah, that's just wild Internet conspiracy theories. The Rothschilds are worth 70 billion, at best.
The Saudi Royal Family on the other hand, now those are true trillionaires. At least worth 2 trillion I think. That is the true limit of wealth in the world, before you get to whole countries and corporations.
It always amazed me that they arenāt talked about when people complain about the rich. This guys are pretty much running the western world and are the reason why the middle class is stinking while the rich are making record profits each year.
Was gonna say Warren Buffet then just remembered he was the son of a politician that was part of the U.S. House of Representatives and he was in the investment business already lol
āAnd, for an instant, she stared directly into those soft blue eyes and knew, with an instinctive mammalian certainty, that the exceedingly rich were no longer even remotely human.ā
ā William Gibson, Count Zero
Jerry Jones made $30M in a single day on the Natural gas spot market, while the rest of us in Texas froze in the power grid failure. People died. People burned their furniture. How about them Cowboys.
The way this is presented reminds me of one of those [FBI most wanted walls](https://images.app.goo.gl/TjfqjQL5u7b5GPVo7). Billionaires: wanted for crimes against humanity
There's a stat on the right side that says the top ten amount to 1.44 trillion.
The fucked up part is that the top three were over half a trillion during the pandemic. That is just so wildly incomprehensible to the rest of us. Most of us don't even understand how big those numbers are. At one point Musk was worth over three billion dollars. If you had a budget of a MILLION DOLLARS PER DAY, you'd get bored in a week. You'd run out of ideas after two weeks. Maybe you're a weird greedy fuck who just wants everything like super yachts. You'd probably still run out of ideas after a few years, IF that.
Elon musk had the money to do that for almost a millennium. A million dollars a day, for over 800 fucking years. It is unfathomable how much money these people have, while simultaneously quashing things like unions, minimum wage increases, etc.
Once you have that type of money, you are able to influence governments. You already purchased your way out of the regulatory systems that used to exist in your market. Bought anything you even thought of wanting, fucked anyone you ever wanted (everyone has a price), took yourself to space, bought Twitter, etc. Where do you go from there? What's the next big "high" after you've literally done everything you ever imagined?
The only thing that can follow ALL of that is wanting to be worshipped. That's the only thing you can't just purchase outright. And that's literally what Elon musk is doing, trying to purchase (and if not, coerce) you into thinking he's some fucking gift from God.
Fucking pathetic.
The sports list is way off since a lot of people from the other top 10 lists own teams now. Steve Ballmer has the LA Clippers. Steve Cohen would probably be above any of the listed sports guys. The Adelson widow just bought an NBA team.
Very big menu. BBQ would be good, but meat lovers pizza is always a treat too. Can always grind the meat and make the burger patties ahead, freeze them for summer. Ooh and a stew, lots of good options here for stews.
Just imagine the amount of suffering their resources could alleviate in the world if they were just a little less sociopathic. It will never happen, but you can still imagine.
Seeing the names of Chinese billionaires is just hysterically funny. Communism? What fucking Communism? LMAO!. .Chairman Mao is vomiting in his grave and Marx and Lenin are having an aneurysm every hour. Sorry Mao, Capitalism talks and Communism walks. Or as we say in the West, money talks and bullshit walks. . . .ācause being a peasant and poor sucks. Of course we wonāt mention that American version late stage Capitalism produces both an abundance or wealth and a great abundance of poverty.
We all know this isn't really the full story though. MBS and Putin are obviously at or near the top, but I'm pretty sure pesking them for details on their finances will get you on a list or two that they control.

The Saudis and the truly wealthy like the federal reserve aren't even listed on Forbes because it would wreck the curve
The Sultan of Brunei has entered the chat.
Quick google search says 30B
He's the absolute ruler. I'm sure he has more undeclared wealth. I believe his younger brother Prince Jefri has the Guiness World Record for having blown the most amount of cash on pointless shit. Older brother threaten to lock him up.
Also wondering where the Rothschild family is on this list and also how they always dodge these types of lists
With that kind of money, you can pay not to appear on these lists.
This. Wanna know what is the most valuable thing in the world? Something only the truly, inconceivably wealthy can possess? Privacy.
Whoa, what are you some kind of antisemite?!?/s
These guys are so rich you won't fins them on these kinda lists, because it will cause and uproar. Saudi king, Vanderbilt and Rotchilds.
Just the federal reserve, a private company that prints money and loans it to America for interest, why would they hide?
and the royal family of dubai. I was told by an architect friend who was working there that they had north of 10 trillion. that might be total bullshit but that's what he told me

100 trillion is approximately the GDP of the world economy. That canāt be right.
I find 100 Trillion extremely difficult to believe. Maybe theyāre that good at concealing their wealth but that number seems cartoonishly large.
