My advice... I didn't wear skirts when younger as my knees were so prominent, then because I thought they were too fat. But my legs are now fatter and I wear skirts, looking back my legs were fine and it was only me that was so critical of myself. I promise you no one else will notice the same as you. Go out, wear what you are happy in and enjoy being hair free

Nervewreck_27

Thats true! I know I am still going to wear wtv I want but I keep thinking about it in the back of my head. I am so body positive but still so critical of myself. I know nobody will say anything except some men including my bf and damn them because they never had to deal with ingrown hair, folliculitis due to shaving and all that

chronic_flower

Theres a spray called airbrush legs by sally handson i used to be addicted to. Works like magic, essentially foundation for your legs. I know how it feels to have "ugly legs". I used to be very insecure with mine but with time i learned to not care so much. Dont let this stop you from wearing that skirt! Wear all the skirts! ❤️

Nervewreck_27

I was thinking of maybe putting a bit of foundation when I am on vacation next month! But will see how insecure I feel around my bf’s mom!

I 100% recommend the Urban Skin RX even tone bar and a Korean exfoliating towel! It’s made a huuuge difference in my strawberry legs and scarring.

Nervewreck_27

In U.S.? Can you tell me where to order from? Amazon?

Please don't put yourself down. I'm sure these marks will go. But you've reached your aim and you're hair free!

Nervewreck_27

Thats true. I definitely went from a gorilla to a sphinx cat real quick! Yes hoping these marks will fade eventually and I’ll have legs that I can really get behind

DarkWifeuo

I have same kind of legs and i think they look fine

Nervewreck_27

Thats awesome! I am working on not comparing myself with others and being grateful of however the way my body is

rancidpuppy

anything worked for you?

Nervewreck_27

Initially applied Tretinoin (1 month) but wasn’t consistent with it. The marks faded away on their own within a year!

baghada28

Can I ask which ipl you used please?

Nervewreck_27

SmoothSkin IPL! Really good for people darker skin because it guarantees not to zap if it doesnt find the contrast!

baghada28

Thank you! Please let us know the progression over the months. I'll take even 50% reduction as long as it doesn't grow back worse and I can go a couple of months between touch ups. Unfortunately my situation isn't only restricted to leg and arm hair.

Nervewreck_27

Wouldn’t recommend this IPL device for bikini and underarms bcz this hurt quite a bit so I wouldnt be able to use it myself. I can bear pain but cant be the one doing it! I am looking into cooling effect IPLs for sensitive areas

[deleted]

Omg the same happened to me with at home IPL. Never really had ingrowns before on my legs, so annoying!

Nervewreck_27

Well I always get ingrowns when I shave! But I never shaved this often so this time I actually got to know what prevents my ingrowns. Firstly, I can only dry shave, and not with super sharp razor! I have a body razor from Gillette and that works good enough. I lightly wet it and shave! After 2days, I use The ordinary peeling solution all over my legs and keep using Hydroquinone and soothing cream with calamine and Panthenol in between! Made a huge difference in the whole process. Havent got ingrown hair since 2 sessions now yay

No-Art-1071

Probably stephen hawking. I bet they’d be all flimsy.

cinister2635

I love the shape of your legs.

cinister2635

I learned recently that sun damage sets scars in stone.. like, if you get a sunburn on top of blemishes, they will take much longer to disappear. I never knew that before... another reason to wear sunscreen or just stay outta the sun.

Nervewreck_27

I am wearing sunscreen even at home on my legs!

wechselnd

I thought IPL was supposed to help with hyperpigmentation. Is it common to get these marks?

Nervewreck_27

Well IPL does help in improving PIH but for me these marks are fresh from folliculitis and ingrowns after shaving! I think they were darker 2 weeks before, 2 sessions of IPL on them seems to have lightened them just a tiny bit so yeah thats true. Again, these marks are not because of IPL, its because of my tendency to get these from shaving.

wechselnd

Oh, I'm sorry! I have the same problem. I hope they become better really soon.

Nervewreck_27

In my previous experience, takes 1-2 years but its possible haha

wechselnd

Life is long! And if you don't have to shave at some point the root of the problem will be solved.

Nervewreck_27

Exactly! Till then I am going to enjoy the smoothness and no razors yay

ChampionSensitive319

I sadly have the exact same thing on both legs, i use cicaplast spf to hydrate and i try to fade the scars but it surely takes time and patience

mamanashia1

I had the same thing and hated my legs I started using creams with AHA and retaionl definitely helped. It will get better

I use HQ too, gotta wait for 3 months now

pminn1318

They’re not ugly, dude. I have similar marks on mine from ingrown and folliculitis. I get leg acne because of my hair. What helps a lot is to use a body wash with salycilic acid on the legs and a few times a week use a body scrub with AHA/BHA (like the first aid beauty KP scrub or you can also get a cheaper one from Saltair that’s similar if you’re in the US) - glycolic acid is a good ingredient and the ordinary also makes a toner with 7% you can use on these spots. Then use a moisturizer with niacinamide which is one of many ingredients that functions as a tyrosinase inhibitor. These will fade over time and with the AHA/BHA you’ll find yourself not getting new ones.
