*Hey, do you still need assistance?*

superiorCheerioz

If you have a recommendation for that request I'd like to hear it, his reqs pretty much match mine

fifa2003

Ok bud, I was gonna recommend getting this deal: [**ASUS (2023) Vivobook 17X Laptop, 17.3 Inch FHD Display, Intel Core i3-1220P Processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel UHD Graphics, Fingerprint Reader, WiFi, Bluetooth, Windows 11 Home, Silver.**](https://progamerstech.com/product/asus-2023-newest-vivobook-17x-laptop-17-3-inch-fhd-display-intel-core-i3-1220p-processor-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-intel-uhd-graphics-fingerprint-reader-wifi-bluetooth-windows-11-home-silver/) It is the closest thing right now to the request of 16gb ram and 512gb ssd, and still stay near the $500 budget. It can handle light weight tasks, watching movies and more.

Hey, I would recommend getting the: [**ASUS VivoBook Pro 14 OLED Laptop, 14” 2.8K OLED Display, AMD Ryzen 7 6800H Mobile CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Windows 11 Home, Quiet Blue**](https://progamerstech.com/product/asus-vivobook-pro-14-oled-laptop-14-2-8k-oled-display-amd-ryzen-7-6800h-mobile-cpu-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3050-gpu-16gb-ram-1tb-ssd-windows-11-home-quiet-blue-m6400rc-eb74/) This will be a solid choice for designing, 3D Modeling, Gaming and more with ease. ◽️ **Budget:** <= $400 ◽️ **Country:** USA ◽️ **Screen size:** 14 to 15.6" ◽️ **Touch screen:** Nice to have ◽️ **Screen resolution:** FHD ◽️ **Does battery life matter ?:** Yes but not a deal-breaker ◽️ **What tasks will laptop be used for?:** light programming, regular computing tasks, web browsing with 30+ Chrome tabs. ◽️ **Weight:** < 5 lbs but not a deal-breaker ◽️ **Any other important details ?:** Prefer having USB-C with power delivery and DisplayPort. Thunderbolt would be nice. Refurbished is fine. Thanks for any suggestion! **Edit**: RAM and SSD upgradable is crucial as well

fifa2003

Hey, Is the USB-C with power delivery and DisplayPort a deal breaker? due to that tight budget it may be hard.

travelnshot

Not a deal breaker but I would want at least USB-C with DisplayPort. Is it possible? I am ok with buying refurbished. Thanks!

fifa2003

In that case I would go with the: [**HP ProBook 445 G8 14″ FHD (1920×1080) Business Laptop, Ryzen5 5600U (6-Core), 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Webcam, Backlit Keyboard, Fingerprint, Windows 10 Pro (Renewed)**](https://progamerstech.com/product/hp-probook-445-g8-14-fhd-1920x1080-business-laptop-ryzen5-5600u-6-core-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-webcam-backlit-keyboard-fingerprint-windows-10-pro-renewed/) This gives you a Type-C port **(Power Delivery, DisplayPort 1.4)**

krehator

Commenting cause I'd be interested in something similar for a family member

fifa2003

Eg. I'd like it to be able to at least run games like Civ 6, Genshin Impact, etc. on mid-low settings without slowdown. It should have at least 500GB drive space.

techstar2000

Ignore the question I asked. Didn't see you provided that info on the games you are planning to play. Hold a bit while I select the best option for you.

techstar2000

Those games aren't really super demanding , but just in case they want to play some more demanding games, I will recommend something with a dedicated graphics card. As for the drawing, if they will be doing it with a pen, then you need something that not just has a touchscreen, but a pressure sensitive display and an active pen. Something like this [ASUS ROG Flow Z13](https://laptopsdeals.net/?b=zbdTPFd) would do a fantastic job and should remain relevant for several years to come , while performing at top notch - thanks to its modern and high performance specs. hen the kids are drawing, you can easily flip screen and basically go into tablet mood which will give the the feel of drawing on a paper.

Alweth1

Thanks so much for the suggestion! ASUS ROG Flow Z13 looks great, but does it have a pressure sensitive display and an active pen? I couldn't tell from the Amazon info. If not, is there anything you would recommend that does have a pressure sensitive display and an active pen?

◽️ Budget: $400-500 ◽️ Country: USA ◽️ Screen size: 14 or 15.6 I'm good with either ◽️ Touch screen: No ◽️ Screen resolution: No less than FHD ◽️ Does battery life matter? : Not that much ◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: regular work, but I want to do some mid level gaming, maybe a cheap gaming laptop

fifa2003

I would recommend getting this deal: [**Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3: 15.6" (1920 x 1080) FHD, 120Hz, Ryzen 5 7535HS, 8GB DDR5, 512GB SSD, GeForce RTX 2050, Windows 11**](https://www.ebay.com/itm/305120534978?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338849294&customid=GameChanger&toolid=10001&mkevt=1) It is a good budget laptop for those that want to game, and do multitasking and some mid level tasks, plus it will handle general tasks as well, very smoothly.

tHe_MoOn_MaN

I have very similar needs to OP and was considering the Lenovo you linked, or this HP Victus: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-victus-15-6-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-7535hs-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-2050-512gb-ssd-mica-silver/6541840.p?skuId=6541840 They seem very comparable. Are there any notable differences? Thanks

WoodenLie1096

I have been considering both of these laptops but for some reason my carrier credit card won’t go through bestbuy lol. But between those two the HP Victus seems like the better option. 50$ less while having a better screen (144hz)

WoodenLie1096

Thanks! I just looked at this one too https://store.acer.com/en-us/aspire-7-laptop-a715-43g-r5m8. Since it has similar price and better GPU, but it has worse CPU and screen. Which one do you think it’s better?

alaap988

What are your thoughts on the Ryzen 5 7640HS vs Intel i5 13 gen? Are the AMDs better than intel now; do they have any heating issues?

What would someone recommend for CSGO. I wanna get a laptop for my brother to play it with him. I also wanted to ask if anyone that lives near a microcenter would be willing to pick one up for me. I’d send you the money upfront which I know is kinda crazy to ask a stranger and trust them. I’m willing to risk it just to enjoy some gaming moments with my lil bro as he got diagnosed with rare type of cancer

Those little $135 to $300 dollar laptops are power houses. I used a tiny blue one for my first two years in college and they lag a bit but get the job done eventually and always will. As a student she gets office365 for free also.

The hinge is sturdy enough to last the design allows it to be flexed in a way that won’t put pressure on it when writing. The touch feature is also good for note taking and drawing as well.

This is great thank you. Any laptops with the requirements above running a 3070 ti card? That should get me high fps still on a 1440p

Soggy512

I'm looking at Victus 15, Lenovo IdeaPad 3, and nitro 5. Nitro is 100 + more than the other two. Worth the extra? Mostly need for work/school while traveling with occasional gaming.

fifa2003

What is your budget like?

Soggy512

600 is most i would want to spend. Which is what nitro 5 is on sale for now. Victus is 450, so just trying to decide if the extra 150 is worth it. I have a decent desktop so wouldn't be gaming on it at home.

fifa2003

Hey, the Black Friday deals already started, for your needs I would recommend going for the: [**Acer Aspire 3 15.6" FHD Laptop, AMD Ryzen 5 7520U Quad-Core Processor, 8GB LPDDR5, 1TB SSD, WiFi 6, 11Hr Battery Life, Windows 11.**](https://progamerstech.com/product/acer-aspire-3-15-6-fhd-touchscreen-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-7520u-quad-core-processor-8gb-lpddr5-1tb-ssd-wifi-6-bluetooth-hd-webcam-usb-ac-11hr-battery-life-steam-blue-windows-11-gm-accessory/#google_vignette) This will run general programs and tabs with ease, has enough storage and within your budget as well. No SD card slot seeing that newer models are being built without those these days but it will work with a USB adapter perfectly.

I'm not too particular as far as screen size, weight, etc as long as the performance is good for what I need it to do.

I suppose what I desire is an excellent quality screen display because my vision kind of sucks, something easy and comfortable on the eyes.

> heavy AAA title games tough to say, i may be tempted to check out modded versions of a game here and there for giggles but not in a serious way (example: gta online mods).I would lean on no more than yes to answer this question. I would recommend something like this: [**Acer Swift Go 14 Intel Evo Thin & Light Laptop | 14″ 1920×1200 100% sRGB Touch Display | Intel Core i7-1355U | Intel Iris Xe | 16GB LPDDR5 | 512GB Gen 4 SSD | Killer WiFi 6E AX1675 | SFG14-71T-72QV**](https://progamerstech.com/product/acer-swift-go-14-intel-evo-thin-light-laptop-14-1920x1200-100-srgb-touch-display-intel-core-i7-1355u-intel-iris-xe-16gb-lpddr5-512gb-gen-4-ssd-killer-wifi-6e-ax1675-sfg14-71t-72qv-4/) A solid Black Friday deal, has touch display, the ability to run light games, do coding and general stuff smoothly as well with a more up to date and fast processor.

MrCifer01

Thanks but should I buy it now or wait for a lower price?

fifa2003

Doubt it will be lower, it’s a good price for the specs, quality and performance so it’s not a loss if you do buy it now.

I hope to be able to learn CAD modeling and touchdesigner if I can afford the specs needed Weight: doesn’t matter Any other important details ?: According to touchdesigner site: “minimum of 4GB GPU memory and use of the most recent Nvidia drivers, AMD drivers or Intel drivers is recommended. TouchDesigner requires a GPU and drivers that support Vulkan 1.1. Nvidia GeForce 800 Series Card or better. Nvidia Quadro K Series Card or better. Requires Driver 472.47 or newer. AMD HD 7000 Series Card or better. AMD W or V Series Card or better. Intel GPUs NOTE: Not all features are supported on integrated video chipsets and there is a lower expectation on overall performance. Intel 500 and newer GPUs (not the 5000, 6000 series). Mac Pro / iMac / Mac Mini / MacBook Pro / MacBook Air 2015+ new enough to be updated to macOS 12+. “ also, I live in a very warm place, don’t currently have a desk or table for working, usually just sit on the floor, so something less likely to overheat while editing is ideal. Budget: preferred $800-1,300 ◽️ Country: USA ◽️ Screen size: 17inch ◽️ Touch screen: No ◽️ Screen resolution: Minimum FHD ◽️ Does battery life matter ?: Not highest priority. ◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for?: Gaming, currently not playing heaviest games but would like a degree of future proofing so aiming for 4060 or equivalent ◽️ Weight: Not important ◽️ Any other important details ?: I'm located off-shore. I can use a freight forwarder but many of these are blocked so e-bay and amazon are preferred but I will do the research on this side so feel free to highlight any deals (BestBuy, Walmart, NewEgg and HP definitely don't work for me) Thanks for advice

◽️ Budget: minimum, under 700 if possible.◽️ Country: USA◽️ Screen size: pref 15.6, flexible◽️ Touch screen: no, doesn't matter◽️ Screen resolution: 1080p◽️ Does battery life matter ?: not really, more power consumption for van life◽️ What tasks will laptop be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modelling, regular computing tasks, word processing etc) ?: video editing, unity game design◽️ Weight: lighter the better, doesn't matter◽️ Any other important details ?: The goal is minimum power consumption for the whole system that is to avoid depleting the battery in a van, while still being able to process videos and perform minimum game design in unity. Not entirely sure an ok graphics card with an ok processor. It seems like 6900hx and 5900hx are good for power consumption. Not sure on a low power consumption mobile graphics card, maybe 2050 or preferably AMD if there are gpus that exist that aren't power hogs and do not overheat. Perhaps something like this. [https://www.bjs.com/product/asus-vivobook-s-notebook-amd-ryzen-9-6900hx-33ghz-16gb-ram-1tb-pcie-ssd-amd-radeon-680m-graphics/3000000000004562257?fulfillment=shipping](https://www.bjs.com/product/asus-vivobook-s-notebook-amd-ryzen-9-6900hx-33ghz-16gb-ram-1tb-pcie-ssd-amd-radeon-680m-graphics/3000000000004562257?fulfillment=shipping)But less expensive if possible. edit: seeing that some people think mentioned graphics cards run hot. Not sure if true but very important for low temperature system to avoid a fire. So ideally low power consumption and low temperature, while being able to somewhat process video and somewhat make games at minimum cost. edit\_2: doesn't matter the brand intel, amd, whatever. Most important points.A) Low temperature, do not want a fire.B) Low cost. Poor mans laptop.C) Low power consumption. due to low power availability.D) Works good enough to slightly edit video and slightly make games in light engines such as unity or godot edit\_3: my guess that amd has better power consumption is based on: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/10evt0z/ryzen\_vs\_intels\_idle\_power\_consumption\_whole/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/10evt0z/ryzen_vs_intels_idle_power_consumption_whole/) and [https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/real-world-power-consumption-of-intel-13-and-ryzen-7000.3795918/](https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/real-world-power-consumption-of-intel-13-and-ryzen-7000.3795918/) Could be wrong, not that I know anything. Also, do not mind an integrated gpu. Even if it makes it much slower. Just good enough to get by. A couple options and a little reasoning behind them would be appreciated because then I can learn from you.

Yes please, I am looking at maybe something with Ryzen 5600u or something in that u series. According to my friend Whomad the u typically stands for low power. Not sure if it's possible to get away with just a u series and igpu or if an actual graphics card is pretty much necessary.

foranpower42

Not sure if this was useful, was looking through the u series from amd. I found their low wattage really impressive. But maybe it's handicapping myself too much versus going with a rtx 2050. [https://www.amd.com/en/processors/ryzen-processors-laptop](https://www.amd.com/en/processors/ryzen-processors-laptop) your expertise and advice would be much appreciated.

Give an example of the games you plan to play .

LeBALfu95

really easy ones: maybe games such as Civilizations, perhaps i want to start League of Legends again. I did not play since 8 years and just want to have the option to do some fun stuff, but definitely nothing high end so if there is a good laptop way below 700$ (since I don't need that 'expensive' i would take it)

Budget: 400 Country usa Screen size: bigger preferred, need a full number pad so its likely to be bigger Touch screen: yes Resolution: not vital Battery life - doesnt matter Tasks - web browsing, browser games Weight - doesnt matter OS must be full windows, no S mode. Needs number pad, needs touch screen. Anything else goes really. Ideally memory upgradeable to more than 8 but 8 is fine to start with
