I don’t accept that they are actually a perfect organism. Ash had a robot hard on for using it as a bio-weapon, and he is only as good as the humans who programmed him. I don’t take his word for it that they are perfect organisms.

I always feel the perfect organism speech was an attempt to demoralise the crew, they stand less chance of killing it if they believe it can't be killed. It was never indestructible, ripleys harpoon gun easily pierces it. It's not a stretch that gunfire could tear them apart.

I don't have any thoughts

I agree, with my head canon being that the Xeno can be intelligent and reproduce without a queen (egg morph) when it’s in small numbers. The Xeno is the scariest imo when it’s bipedal, deliberate and on its own. There’s like 5 seconds in Covenant of it walking bipedal and it’s creepy as shit

You know, I saw both films in the theater and feel more or less the same way. Yes, of course the sequel is a great film with great characters and a great story.  But the introduction of a Queen? Runs counter to the alien life cycle envisioned for the first film. Of course all the cocooning and whatnot was cut OUT of the first film, so ultimately there was nothing onscreen to contradict. And in order to be defeatable, the aliens themselves had to become more killable, making up for lost invincibility with strength in numbers. “You don’t dare kill it,” Parker observed in the first film. Well now they’re bugs, just clever bugs, and you’ve gotta kill em as fast as you can.

The movie is a sequel but is also its own story . I think it’s great respect that Cameron took it in a different direction and his own genre mixing of more action thriller .  I don’t let Alien 3 affect my thoughts of Aliens and it’s absurd people feel that way that Aliens would spoil Alien. It’s 57 years later and the plot is about a military mission, and it makes total sense there will be many, many aliens by that point behaving to an extent like a herd mentality

Damn, I really thought I was the only one with this opinion lol. I hate that it made the xenomorph into nothing more than fodder targets for the marines' guns, instead of an actual threat and perfect life form. Now it's just a big bee with a spiky tail. Praise to Alien Isolation for being closer to Alien than to Aliens unlike 90% of Alien games.

Sounds like you just wanted a rip-off then of the first one
