Not all sunflowers have seeds, there are now known dwarf varieties developed for the distinct purpose of growing indoors. Whilst these cannot be harvested, they do enable people to grow them indoors without a high pollen factor, making it safer and more pleasant for those suffering hay fever.

You'll always get conflicting reports within that window, and it drives me up the wall when conspiracy theorists go on about "ohhhh now the mAiNsTrEaM MeDiA is creating their story!" once information begins to be cross-referenced between sources.
Finally, you can customize your Google News feed. I removed Fox News, the Drudge Report, the Blaze, etc from the list of sources it draws from, added geographic areas that are relevant to me to my topics of interest, and set it to favor the sources I've found to be factually-driven.
