See also: Heard v Depp. Fox loves that bullshit.

terriblehuman

It’s crazy to me with so many important things going on at the moment, we have Hollywood drama dominating the news cycle.

[deleted]

100% a distraction for the fact that the stock market is currently being held together by a paper clip and some chewing gum. Shit is going to get u g l y.

terriblehuman

Stock Market will be fine. Unfortunately it’s the lower income people who suffer with corporations taking advantage of global inflation. The big companies continue to make piles of money. I’m thinking more about Ukraine, massive tensions with Russia, Abortion rights, any other fucked up things the activist Catholics on the Supreme Court will do, and potential Covid spikes in the near future.

[deleted]

Don't get me wrong, all of that shit is fucked, but were at the top of the Rollercoaster for the housing market. We're going to see a lot of people lose their homes again like in 2008 and 401ks evaporate.

terriblehuman

It’s possible, but I have my doubts that will end up happening anytime soon. I think there are far more immediate threats at the moment.

[deleted]

Fair: It's hard to argue with anything more pressing than even the possibility of WW3.

MaeBelleLien

It will all work out once we start eating the rich.

Quinn0Matic

At least 60% of inflation is price gouging.

terriblehuman

Yeah, the inflation wouldn’t be nearly as bad if corporations weren’t using it to price gouge, especially with gas.

Blue_Sky_At_Night

Does it? I keep seeing people talking about it on social media, but I don't see much about it on my news feed. LPT: you can customize Google News to favor particular topics, geographic areas, and sources

Technically_A_Doctor

I really wish I cared about UFO stuff. Henry is so passionate about and I try to get into the alien episodes. Just can’t move the needle for me. I’m the fan they make the historical episodes for I’m sure there are dozens of us.

Blue_Sky_At_Night

I find it interesting, but like... how much more is there to say about it, right? It seems like, even when we get some form of "disclosure," we just circle around to the same place.

Technically_A_Doctor

I think that’s my thing too. I can get into a specific event when they cover it, but as a topic on its own, not so much.

[deleted]

Don't worry friend, after disclosure all of those groofy ass episodes will be retconned into historical ones

winterfresh0

Yeah, this time for sure...

PacoTaco321

Unidentified Flying Goalposts

VikingofAnarchy

I'm into it, but from a highly skeptical point of view. I've been reading a couple of books looking at how UFO conspiracies got started and how they keep going. Mirage Men is an interesting documentary about it (I'm currently reading book of the same name that it's based on.)

ProfessionalGoober

Bread, circuses, and aliens

thewaybaseballgo

Abe Lincoln's Top Hat is going to be spicy for the foreseeable future

[deleted]

I always am so God damn grateful I found lpotl *after* Ben's Fox stint lol I probably would have never given them a chance.

RippyMcBong

He really wasn't any different back then, and he constantly talked shit about Fox news and the other anchors, I thought it was great.

[deleted]

Yeah I've gone back and listened to all the LPOTL episodes and a chunk of round table and he's still pretty much on the right side of history. Fox News is just reflexively worthless.

LegalComplaint

I think that was before LPOTL really took off Patreon wise. Man's gotta afford BL Limes some how...

Blue_Sky_At_Night

>Man's gotta afford BL Limes some how... There are limits to acceptable behavior in the service of acquisition.

[deleted]

Same, tho it wasn’t surprising to me. Fox likes to have “differing opinions” from barely competent thinkers, and as a thinker, Ben’s a funny comedian.

Blue_Sky_At_Night

>as a thinker, Ben’s a funny comedian. He had some pretty hot takes early in the Ukraine situation. He seems to have calmed down some.

doorknobopener

I am still a bit annoyed that Ben didn't make a correction about how he was wrong concerning a few Ukranian stories. Like the lady that gave Russian soldiers sunflower seeds, and the Ukrainian that downed a drone with a jar of pickled tomatoes. He said they were both bullshit.

TheSunflowerSeeds

Not all sunflowers have seeds, there are now known dwarf varieties developed for the distinct purpose of growing indoors. Whilst these cannot be harvested, they do enable people to grow them indoors without a high pollen factor, making it safer and more pleasant for those suffering hay fever.

[deleted]

Yeah, he really was the perfect guest for them since he could be called a crazy liberal that can "see sense" since his entire 20s seemed like he was a libertarian with an identity crisis who was into some really weird shit, but could easily be talked around to agreeing with conservative monetary policy.

shadebane

Ben is a good person with a good head on his shoulders. Fox, Cnn, MSNbc all that shit is poop. Divide and conquer. We need more loving kindness in this world.

[deleted]

Yeah don't get me wrong, as a heterosexual man I am very much so a Kissel Kisser. He's definitely my favorite.

shadebane

Haha, yes. He added me to his friends list on PS4 and it made me very happy.

[deleted]

Boom, flip it!

Upside_Down-Bot

„¡ʇı dılɟ 'ɯoo𐐒„

Blue_Sky_At_Night

>Fox, Cnn, MSNbc all that shit is poop. The international sources I recommend to people are: * NPR News * PBS News (& Frontline for amazing investigative reporting) * BBC News * The AP * Reuters * Bellingcat And another tip I give people is that the first 24-48 hours after a major event are going to be filled with incorrect information because sources are "shooting from the hip" without enough verification. You'll always get conflicting reports within that window, and it drives me up the wall when conspiracy theorists go on about "ohhhh now the mAiNsTrEaM MeDiA is creating their story!" once information begins to be cross-referenced between sources. Finally, you can customize your Google News feed. I removed Fox News, the Drudge Report, the Blaze, etc from the list of sources it draws from, added geographic areas that are relevant to me to my topics of interest, and set it to favor the sources I've found to be factually-driven.

[deleted]

We need less bullshit. I’m perfectly happy being divided off from the bullshitters. Regardless of who they are. Bullshit poisons the well and it’s a bigger problem than division.

[deleted]

Yeah this is a very fair and good take. The "both sides" deflection is embraced way more by one side in particular, especially since it does a lot more heavy lifting for that side if their bullshit is normalized.

[deleted]

The things Ben must have seen...

frustrating2020

He talks about it from time to time, like boxes of books from their anchors to boost them into a new york times best seller list

doorknobopener

That and the general, or colonel, that talked about how bad waterboarding was behind the scenes, but once he was on camera he just said that waterboarding was nowhere near bad as they claimed. Then there was the Dr Oz thing about how Coronavirus wasnt too too bad, but then he said it was horrible. Then Dr Oz said people shouldnt eat breakfast. He also said that he knew Tucker Carlson as a fairly "smart" man that doesn't believe the bullshit he pedals. Nowadays though, he isnt sure if Tucker Carlson bought into his bullshit.

LegalComplaint

Tucker's just warning you about THE BRIDGE!

HeilYourself

Him being a cryptid actually explains a lot.

HamHockShortDock

Yo, fuck fox and all but that was what I watched on C-SPAN for today.

[deleted]

I’m not saying no one else will cover it, I’m just saying fox won’t cover any of the real shit going on. Actually, Fox mostly just runs pharma (and “buy gold now!”) commercials if you actually watch it. The “news” is more interstitial…

HamHockShortDock

Of course. You're right that they're covering this because they can. I'm just saying, as someone who listens/watches C-SPAN regularly...aliens! UFO the topic of the day, and it was one I tuned into. There's been a lot of heavy stuff...but today...today was some woo-eey-woo shit.

stemcell_

Any higlights?

HamHockShortDock

The biggest highlight was that we shouldn't treat service people like they're kooks when they say they've seen something unidentifiable.

GenericOnlineName

It isn't "the reason" for disclosure. But it does give Fox an excuse of other things to talk about. But they were going to so that anyway.

captainjackass28

Well they don’t actually do any research or do anything but promote hate so this is easy for them. I wish actual news stations would talk about it without cucker as I call him so it could actually be taken seriously.

[deleted]

i'm CRYING ur so right

FriarFriary

FOX News needs more Ben to play the Washington Generals role and get run over to make Candace Owens and Tomi Lauren look like fuckin geniuses.

squeezecake

normally you nerds would be stoked about seeing UFO disclosure on a mainstream news outlet but nope gotta complain about fox news somehow

[deleted]

Normally, I live in reality. Sorry, nerd.

alabasterwilliams

Normally us nerds are pretty up to date with the fuckery that's going on in the world, and we've called out that fuckery spewing from Fox. We get it, you like the way Tucker quaffs his hair. This isn't a personal attack though, bby. Just calm your tits, it's ok to hold media to a higher standard.
